Yep, Cali. is a prime example of climate extremism! Newsom needs to have a clear zone anywhere there is a powering running through unpopulated areas, so if a pole goes down electric lines don't start a fire. Several years ago in the Texas panhandle we had a dry windy spring, a pole went down or lines got together. Anyway started a fire and along with 60-70 M.P.H. winds burned 1000's of acres. Granted mostly grassland. But still a major loss for ranchers and farmers. We now have what I call line stabilizers between poles to keep the lines apart.

No, it was not a great gesture. If there was surplus equipment, it should have been given to other fire departments around the country that needed the equipment. We should be taking care of America first, not foreign countries.

In Our more naive state , at the time, it was a NICE DIPLOMATIC GESTURE. HOWEVER KNOWING WHAT WE DO NOW......i WOULD NOT have GIVEN THEM EVEN A FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
