Left Wants to Cancel Thanksgiving ... Forever
THOMAS GALLATIN A number of Democrat governors, county executives, and mayors across America have issued edicts limiting the number of individuals allowed in people’s homes to celebrate Thanksgiving — excusing the blatant Fourth Amendment violation by claiming to be combatting the coronavirus pandemic. But there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that many leftists would love nothing more than to cancel the holiday forever. Why?According to leftist revisionist historians, Thanksgiving was established to whitewash history — as in covering up the evils of America’s “white supremacist” founding. In an article titled “After a summer of racial reckoning, is America ready to learn the truth about Thanksgiving?” USA Today’s Eryn Dion writes, “As Americans looked for an origin story that wasn’t soaked in the blood of Native Americans or built on the backs of slavery, the humble, bloodless story of the 102 Pilgrims forging a path in the New World in search of religious freedom was just what they needed, according to [George Washington University history professor David Silverman]. Regardless of whether it was rooted in historical fact, it became accepted as such.”
Silverman himself dubiously contends, “How are we supposed to improve on this sorry record if we don’t understand the sorry record?” Ironically, it appears that “improvement” for those like Silverman is to shade the truth of what occurred by painting the Pilgrims in the most negative light possible. Additionally, he portrays the natives as perpetual victims of the white man, an all too popular, deceitful, and patronizing “systemic racism” trope.
But what may be the most offensive claim Silverman makes is that religious freedom was not what motivated the Pilgrims to cross the Atlantic in the first place. He says, “Many white Americans hold it very dear, the idea that the main impetus for colonization was the search for religious freedom. If you ask the general public, even educated people, that’s the most common explanation. It’s not right.” He points to the Pilgrims getting a charter from The London Company to start a colony in the New World, with survival and turning a profit as the primary concern and the impetus to leave Holland. How exactly this supersedes or undercuts the underlying reason the Pilgrims initially left England for Holland in the first place — the desire to freely practice their faith — is not clarified. The truth is, the Pilgrims, wanting to maintain their English culture and freedom to practice their faith, elected to leave Holland and journey to the New World to do just that.
What Silverman does in his retelling of history is conflate the actions of the Pilgrims with that of other European settlers in the New World. In so doing, he is then able to weave his tale of Thanksgiving being little other than a feast put on by the Pilgrims after they made a politically savvy peace deal with the native Wampanoags that allowed for their survival … and therefore the exploitation of the natives by the white man. In other words, it wasn’t really about freedom of religion and thanking God for sustaining them.
The real focus of this attack on Thanksgiving and our celebration of it is an attack on the heart and spirit of America. Throwing shade on Thanksgiving is an effort not to better understand history but to undercut and diminish the heroic efforts and motives of our nation’s forefathers by painting them as racists motivated primarily by white supremacy. It’s all about destroying the foundations of our nation.
Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday where we come together with family and friends to celebrate and thank God for the wonderful and abundant blessings He has gifted us. Those blessings are not merely of a material nature, but, more significantly, they consist of family, faith, and freedom.

A Senior Senator Gets Canceled for Kindness
DOUGLAS ANDREWS It’s a sad sign of the times in Washington when a hug and a kind word for one’s colleague is just cause for cancelation. But that’s exactly what happened to 87-year-old Senator Dianne Fein-stein.
Those stakes and circumstances stemmed from the untimely death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the willingness of President Donald Trump to fulfill his constitutional duty and appoint her replacement. Given this, leftists were in no mood for civility. Instead, they expected Feinstein to give Barrett the full Kavanaugh treatment. And when she didn’t, the long knives came out … for her.
As The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes, “The hits against Senator Fein-stein started in September after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Democrats were starting to threaten court-packing if Republicans filled the seat, but Senator Fein-stein came out against nuking the legislative filibuster. Soon a Politico story appeared, ‘Democrats worry Fein-stein can’t handle Supreme Court battle,’ citing interviews ‘with more than a dozen Democratic Senators and aides.’”
In an effort to placate the mob, Minority Leader Chuck “Now We Take Georgia” scumbag-Schumer said he’d had “a long and serious talk with Senator Fein-stein” about her fundamental decency. But to no avail. On Monday, Fein-stein announced that she wouldn’t seek another term as the Judiciary Committee’s ranking member.
What can we make of all this? First and foremost, the importance of Georgia. If Republicans lose both of those Senate seats on January 5, our world will change for the worse — and drastically so. Beyond statehood for DC and Puerto Rico, beyond an end to the Senate filibuster, a more “progressive” and more treacherous Dick Durbin as chairman of the Judiciary Committee would undo much of the excellent work done by Donald Trump to fortify the bench with constitutional conservatives.
And, of course, we could count on court packing. Were Republicans to lose the Senate, our third branch of government would be all that stands in the way of unchecked Democrat power. And Durbin is already on record as having threatened a “restructured” Supreme Court.
The good news? A recent poll by Harvard CAPS-Harris says that a majority of voters want Republicans to remain in control of the Senate after the Georgia runoff races.
Of course, what the American people want and what they get are two entirely different things. And it’s not up to a poll of Americans; it’s up to Georgia voters. ~The Patriot Post
Herd Immunity With COVID Vaccine by May 2021?
THOMAS GALLATIN Thanks to President Donald Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, at least two American COVID-19 vaccines have been developed in record time. When Trump made that prediction this past summer, he was widely derided by mainstream media talkingheads. Now, months later, no one is panning Trump for it — they’re feverishly attempting to strip him of receiving any credit. Such is Trump Derangement Syndrome.Now that vaccines have been developed, when can Americans anticipate life returning to (somewhat) normal? According to the chief of Operation Warp Speed, Dr. Moncef Slaoui, “That is likely to happen in the month of May or something like that, based on our plans.” However, much of that depends on Americans’ willingness to receive the vaccine. Slaoui pointedly noted, “I really hope and look forward to seeing that the level of negative perception of the vaccine decreases and people’s acceptance increases. That is going to be critical to help us. Most people need to be immunized before we can go back to normal life.”
To reach the accepted levels of vaccination to reach herd immunity, it would require 70% of the U.S. population becoming immunized. Slaoui says that by December 11 or 12, “hopefully, the first people will be immunized across the United States, across all states in all the areas where the state departments of health will have told us where to deliver the vaccines.”
This news couldn’t come at a better time as coronavirus numbers are spiking across the country, threatening to overwhelm hospitals and reverse the trend of a declining COVID death rate. As The Wall Street Journal reports, “Death rates can change depending on the availability of health-care resources, such as hospital beds and staffing in an area. That, along with the location’s patient demographics, explains why rates vary from place to place.”
In any case, the public-private partnership — primarily in terms of removing regulatory roadblocks — is one of Trump’s great achievements. It’s incredibly regrettable, outrageous even, that he has received so little credit. ~The Patriot Post
BETSY MCCAUGHEYscumbag/liar-Joe Biden is fearmongering that “more people may die” because the Trump administration hasn’t begun transitioning oversight over the COVID-19 vaccines to the scumbag/liar-Biden team. “There was a plan for 300 million doses to be available at the end of the year. What they’re reporting now is 20 to 30 million doses available. Why? Where are the bottlenecks?”
A confused scumbag/liar-Biden mixed up the numbers. Dr. Moncef Slaoui, head of Operation Warp Speed, predicts 20 million doses will be shipped out on Dec. 11 and 12, and immediately administered to health care workers and other high-risk populations, including the elderly, in all 50 states.
Every month thereafter, tens of millions more doses will be delivered according to a precision plan, with delivery sites already designated by each state’s health department. By May, Slaoui predicts, enough Americans will have been vaccinated to create herd immunity, allowing the nation to get back to normal. That will be the most impressive public health triumph in a century.
Provided politics doesn’t blow it up. scumbag/liar-Biden’s advisers have dangerous ideas about who should get vaccinated first. That could spell trouble. Already, globalist groups like the World Health Organization and the World Trade Organization are objecting that the U.S. has purchased hundreds of millions of doses, putting Americans ahead of residents of poor countries. WHO wants every country to get a vaccine supply based on its population, sending 2% to each country, and then ramping up to 20%. That would doom the U.S. to continued suffering because herd immunity requires about a 70% vaccination rate.
What’s scary is that scumbag/liar-Biden’s advisers buy into this globalist mentality. God help us if they interfere with Operation Warp Speed.
One of scumbag/liar-Biden’s COVID-19 advisers, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, slams “vaccine nationalism,” calling it unethical that the rich countries developing vaccines get first dibs. “Bad, bad” is Emanuel’s response to the U.S. plan. Emanuel, a member of several WHO advisory groups, argues in the journal Science that vaccines should be reserved initially for the poorest countries and countries with younger populations first because vaccinating an elderly person saves fewer life years than vaccinating a younger person.
Emanuel is not the only scumbag/liar-Biden adviser with dangerous ideas. On Monday, scumbag/liar-Biden said he’ll nominate globalist Antony Blinken to be secretary of state. Blinken decries Trump’s principle of “America First” and is pushing to rejoin WHO immediately. scumbag/liar-Biden and Blinken are ignoring that WHO concealed the virus outbreak in Wuhan and shilled for the Chinese Communist Party, allowing the disease to spread and kill millions.
As for who gets vaccinated, the American public paid to be first. The Trump administration used taxpayer dollars to prepay for millions of doses of vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna before they were approved. That reduced the development risk for those companies and ensured priority access. Several European countries took similar steps.
That’s doesn’t mean the rest of the world should not be helped. Astra Zeneca and Oxford University, which announced positive results for their vaccine on Monday, plans to distribute it across the third world at no profit, for as little as $3 to $5 a dose, and to enlist many manufacturers to do the same. The vaccine requires no refrigeration, a big plus for global distribution.
Meanwhile, the best Americans can hope for is that scumbag/liar-Biden and his political appointees don’t meddle in this nation’s vaccine distribution plan.
Too bad scumbag/liar-Biden’s COVID-19 advisory board has other ideas. Dr. Celine Gounder, a New York University global health professor and scumbag/liar-Biden adviser, says Operation Warp Speed needs to be overhauled to put more emphasis on things other than vaccines, including testing and “providing political backing” to local governments to “support things that might be unpopular.” Translation: shutdowns. That’s crazy. Vaccines will make these draconian options unnecessary.
Though the Trump administration conceived and launched Operation Warp Speed, Slaoui explains that the vaccine rollout has been done totally “isolated from the (Trump) administration, from the political environment and political context.” He added “no political interference, no bureaucracy, no red tape.” He hopes that will continue after the Jan. 20 inauguration.
Responding to scumbag/liar-Biden’s demagoguery about the transition delay costing lives, HHS Secretary Alex Azar reassured the nation on Sunday that “the career people” from the Defense Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention running Operation Warp Speed on Jan. 19 are going to be the same people on Jan. 21.
