“It’s not my first trip,” snapped “border czar” scumbag/liar-Kamala Harris to a reporter in El Paso Friday. “I’ve been to the border many times.” Not as vice president and not until she’d served 93 days as the person President bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden tapped to be the face of his open-borders crisis.
Of course, given that she showed up in El Paso, which as our Douglas Andrews noted last Thursday is “some 800 miles from where the action is,” she might as well have stayed in Washington. Or gone to Europe. But hey, at least she went to Guatemala to opine about “root causes.”
Political analyst John Daniel Davison summed up the political theater:
She visited a Border Patrol station about nine miles from the Rio Grande, talked to some immigration activists and legal service providers, posed for press photos back at the airport, and departed for Los Angeles before 1 p.m. Even the choice of El Paso was pure theatrics. Instead of going to the epicenter of the crisis, on the other end of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, Harris reportedly chose El Paso because that’s where the Trump administration first implemented its short-lived family separation policy. Politics, not the harsh realities on the border, was her motivation.
Notably, directly across the border from El Paso is one of the most dangerous cities in the world — Ciudad Juárez. Any migrant with any sense at all would totally avoid crossing into the U.S. there.
As for why she avoided other border areas? “The reason she did not go to the Rio Grande Valley is that’s where the bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden cages are,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz asserted. “That’s where you see cage after cage after cage of little boys and little girls on the floor, no mats, no cots, side-by-side, one after the other after the other, wrapped in reflective emergency blankets. That’s where you see facilities with the rate of COVID positivity of 10%.”
Nevertheless, in the face of a crisis that has seen 500,000 migrants illegally cross the border (elsewhere) since scumbag/liar-Harris took over as border czar (including a record-setting May), we can understand why she’s touchy. “Why did you decide that right now was the right time to make your first trip to the border?” the reporter asked. The correct answer is that Donald Trump announced his own trip to the border later this week — a trip that by the virtue of its happening will highlight that he secured the border and Team bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden/scumbag/liar-Harris has undone much of that work.
Instead, she lied about having been there already, knowing the media wouldn’t challenge her on it, and for good measure argued, “We inherited a tough situation.”
scumbag/liar-Harris did her level best to sound like this is all going according to plan, though. “I said back in March I was going to come to the border,” she insisted, “so this is not a new plan.”
One person has only so much time in the day, and she had to address more important issues, like marching in that pride parade earlier this month.
scumbag/liar-Harris has received due criticism from the Right and the Left for not visiting the border. How do you effectively address a crisis without firsthand knowledge and experience? And yet her visit there accomplished exactly nothing of substance, because the Harris-Biden goal is not to solve the crisis but to manage it for political gain.

Dems Panic Over ‘Defund the Police’ Advocacy
Amid the skyrocketing violent crime rates across many of America’s largest cities, one of bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s senior advisers, Cedric Richmond, sought to (wrongly) blame the root cause of the spike on two factors: guns and Republicans. In a Sunday interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace, Richmond asserted:
Part of it is the plethora of guns that are flooding the streets of this country, and that’s something that the president wants to deal with. [ bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-President Biden] knows the toll that violence takes on families, and especially gun violence and what it’s doing over the last 18 months in this country.
Fact-check: It’s not “gun violence.”
When Wallace noted that Republicans say Democrats’ support for defunding the police has played a major factor in the growing violence, Richmond dubiously claimed that it was in fact Republicans who were guilty of defunding the police:
Let’s talk about who defunded the police. When we were in Congress last year trying to pass … an emergency relief plan for cities that were cash-strapped and laying off police and firefighters, it was the Republicans who objected to it. And in fact, they didn’t get funding until the American Rescue Plan, which our plan allowed state and local governments to replenish their police departments and do the other things that are needed.
As the saying goes, desperation is a stinky cologne. Richmond was desperately attempting to spin a ridiculous narrative in which Republicans are somehow the ones actually responsible for defunding the police. Yet Democrats around the country have for the last year literally cut funding for police as they exuberantly trumpeted the blatantly false Black Lives Matter lie of “systemic racism.” Over that same period, Republicans decried the vilification of law enforcement, repeatedly warning that it would only lead to exactly the current state of affairs — spiking violent crime.
Wallace, to his credit, pushed back against Richmond’s claim, stating, “I think the point that Senator [Lindsey] Graham and some Republicans make, beyond just the question of funding, is that there has been an attack on the police as if they are part of the problem, especially from some Democrats.”
And to Wallace’s point, over the weekend Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a major defunding advocate, was revealed to have requested increased police presence at his home following the January 6 Capitol riot. When questioned as to why, a spokeswoman said he had “received threats.” Despite Bowman’s personal desire for increased police protection, he continued to publicly advocate for defunding the police. In a video event with Congresswoman socalist/commie/liar-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), he said, “I haven’t thought about an amount, but yes, I support the reallocation of resources from NYPD towards more social services.”
A record of Bowman’s social media feed also highlights the fact that he, at least publicly, is all in on defunding the police. Here are just two examples:
A system this cruel and inhumane can’t be reformed. Defund the police, and defund the system that’s terrorizing our communities.
We screamed defund the police so we could relocate those resources toward something that focuses on true public health and public safety.
Aside from the blatant hypocrisy, Richmond’s attempt to blame Republicans for police defunding is an indication of rising panic within Democrat circles. Another indicator is a recent story from The New York Times, which notes that “progressives” are worried that “if the Democrat Party does not recognize what we have done here in New York, [it’s] going to have a problem in the midterm elections and … in the presidential elections.” The Times was referencing Eric Adams, a former police officer who campaigned against defunding the police and seems to have won the New York City mayoral race.
Expressing the same sentiment, The Washington Post is doing its best to cover for Democrats while at the same time acknowledging that “defund the police” is a liability: “Democrats pushed hard last year to rein in police. A rise in homicides is prompting a shift.”
The Washington Examiner reports that 2021 has seen a 41% increase in the number of police officers killed so far this year when compared to this time last year. This is another statistic Democrats would certainly love to avoid taking any responsibility for.
The truth is that it is Democrats who embraced the radical leftist anti-law enforcement “defund” movement following the death of George Floyd last year. They downplayed and dismissed violence, rioting, and theft associated with BLM protests in the name of fighting “systemic racism,” and now that the predictable rise in crime is becoming a major campaign issue, they’re trying to claim they didn’t mean what they said about defunding the police. ~The Patriot Post
Dems’ Racist ‘Bigotry of Low Expectations'
On June 19 in Chicago, during a celebration of both Juneteenth and Puerto Rican Day, 24-year-old Gyovanny Arzuaga and his 25-year-old girlfriend, Yasmin Perez, were pulled or fell out of their car and shot at point-blank range. Arzuaga, hit in the head, hip, and thigh, was pronounced dead that night. Perez was shot in the neck and died last Tuesday. Their execution was reportedly precipitated by a minor accident in which the couple rear-ended a parked car. The occupants got out and attacked them. They leave behind two children. The shooter is still at large.This is the most detailed video of the incident, which begins at the 6:20 mark, and it clearly shows a black man shooting Arzuaga. YouTube has already pulled the video for violating community standards due to “violent or graphic content.” And in a development that should shock no one, the mainstream media quickly moved on.
It doesn’t take much of an imagination to envision what kind of reaction that same media would have had if the couple were black and the shooter was white. Much like any narrative that accrues to the interests of those intent upon dividing Americans by race, the coverage would have been unrelenting and peppered with commentary by self-purported “experts” trumpeting the “systemic” racism that precipitated it, intermixed with the broad-brushing of anyone who would challenge their premises as a supporter of white supremacy. Moreover, upon capture of the perpetrator, the cacophony demanding the incident be treated as a hate crime would be deafening.
Here, the silence is even more deafening — and far more indicative. Not just of the rank double standard with which Americans have grown wearily familiar, but something far darker. Why have the media moved on so quickly? Where are the same Democrat leaders who knelt in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds to mark the length of time Derek Chauvin pinned his knee on the neck of George Floyd? Where is BLM? Where are the calls for hate crime charges when a black man murders a Hispanic couple?
The answers to those questions might be clearer given the broader perspective: That same weekend in Chicago, 54 people were shot and seven were killed. Even more tragic, there’s nothing particularly outstanding about that reality. Every weekend in Chicago — and other Democrat-controlled cities — shootings and murder are a routine occurrence. Just as routine, the overwhelming percentage of victims and perpetrators are black.
Thus, the most likely reason leftists and their corporate media apparatchiks have moved on is because a certain level of murder and mayhem perpetrated by mostly young black males — many of whom are affiliated with Chicago’s 55 known gangs and their 117,000 members — is to be expected.
In short, the American Left fully embraces the soft bigotry of low expectations — and high casualties — on steroids.
In 2009, former Attorney General scumbag/liar- Eric Holder accused America of being a “nation of cowards” when it comes to discussing race. Perhaps that’s because Democrats and their media enablers are “hands up, don’t shoot” revisionists who make honest conversations impossible.
Even now the bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration insists the “most persistent and lethal threats” to America are white supremacists and militia “extremists.” Yet according to the left-wing Anti-Defamation League (ADL), right-wing domestic extremists killed approximately 116 people from 2018 though 2020. By contrast, in Chicago alone, where police say gang members commit 75% to 80% of the city’s homicides, there were a total of 1,810 murders during the same three years. Assuming police stats are accurate, gangs — the substantial majority of which are black and Hispanic — committed between 1,350 and 1,448 of those murders.
Just as telling, the overwhelming majority of those murders are also ignored by the media. Exceptions center around the execution of children, but the media remain behind the curve there as well: Ten children aged 15 or younger have been murdered in Chicago so far this year, compared to three murdered during the same time period in 2020. “I don’t understand how we are not as a city absolutely outraged,” stated leftist activist Reverend Michael Pfleger.
What’s not to understand? The stench of progressive hypocrisy, whereby the only black lives that matter are those that are politically useful, is impossible to ignore. And who does the reverend, along with countless other leftists, think will bear the brunt of the carnage precipitated by leftist efforts to defund police, end cash bail, or allow those who perpetrated looting, arson, and rioting to avoid any consequences for their crimes?
Having a genuine conversation about race would require acknowledging that black Americans commit crime in percentages far in excess of their percentage in the nation’s population. It would require acknowledging a large part of that criminality can be attributed to the devastating percentage of fatherless households in black communities. And it would also require acknowledging that for the last 55 years, Democrats have absolved black Americans of virtually all personal responsibility in exchange for unquestioning loyalty.
Yet what could be more condescending than Democrats viewing black Americans as so ideologically monolithic that our current president insists one isn’t “genuinely” black if one doesn’t support that party? What could be more racist than insisting black Americans are incapable of taking control of their own lives, even to the point where they are unable to secure voter ID — or even to the point where a certain level of criminal behavior must be tolerated?
What is the Democrat Party’s push for “equity” all about other than the implication that black Americans are incapable of achieving success based on meritocracy? Why are any Americans tolerating the Democrat Party’s current agenda, which posits the only way to “make things right” for black Americans is to demonize white Americans — brought to us by the same Democrat Party that demonized black Americans with the KKK and Jim Crow?
The contemptible status quo whereby victims like Gyovanny Arzuaga and Yasmin Perez are memory-holed for failing to advance the leftist narrative of systemic racism is abhorrent. In less than two weeks, they have become statistics — even as George Floyd has been elevated to the status of national martyr.
Why? “The retelling of the black American journey as a narrative of victimhood rather than victory is the central strategy in painting the American experiment as a failure in need of a Marxist overhaul,” black American columnist Jason Whitlock asserts. “America’s global elites prefer China and the Communist Chinese Party.”
In short, promoting systemic racism and black victimhood is about the acquisition and maintenance of power by any means necessary.
For more than half a century, black Americans have overwhelmingly voted for Democrats, even as those same Democrats insist the nation remains systemically racist. At the very best, that would suggest Democrats are monumentally inept.
At worst? Perhaps it isn’t systemic racism black Americans should worry about. Maybe they should be more concerned with systemic dependency. Systemic dependency cultivated in their communities by Democrats and their elitist enablers — for decades.
By the time this is published, another weekend will have passed in Chicago. Barring a miracle, scores more residents — mostly black — will be shot. Some will be killed.

On Friday, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden’s Department of Justice officially declared war on honest elections. It did so by way of a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Merrick Garland against Georgia’s recently passed voting reform act, also known as Senate Bill 202. And the AG vowed that this suit is only the start.
“The right of all eligible citizens to vote is the central pillar of our democracy, the right from which all other rights ultimately flow,” said a disingenuous Garland. Apparently, no one told him that we live in a republic, not a democracy. Undeterred, he rambled on: “This lawsuit is the first step of many we are taking to ensure that all eligible voters can cast a vote; that all lawful votes are counted; and that every voter has access to accurate information.”
It’s evidently worth noting that Georgia’s law does exactly these things.
Still, we suppose it was only a matter of time. After all, at the time of its passage back in March, bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Joe Biden himself called Georgia’s modest effort to clean up its electoral act “un-American” and “an atrocity.” And someone must’ve also told him to toss out the Jim Crow smear as often as possible, because he called it “Jim Crow on steroids” and “Jim Crow in the 21st century,” and said it “makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle.” Whatever that means.
bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden also made other patently false claims about the law — for example, that it would “end voting at five o'clock when working people are just getting off work” or “ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.” Taken together, these ill-informed attacks were a disgraceful bit of demagoguery, and they ultimately earned him four Pinocchios from the Washington Post’s lefty “fact-checker.”
The central claim of the lawsuit, according to bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s DOJ, is that it’s “intended to deny or abridge the right of Black Georgians to vote.” As the Wall Street Journal editorial board writes, “The federal complaint is as transparently political as its argument is unconvincing. When Covid hit in the run-up to Georgia’s 2020 primary, state officials decided to send every active voter an unsolicited application for a mail ballot. The new law bans this practice.”
As proof of its racial animus, the feds point to an interview in which Georgia House Speaker David Ralston says that massive bulk-mail balloting could “drive up turnout” and be “extremely devastating to Republicans.”
And Ralston did indeed say that, but he also said that the Democrats’ radical upending of electoral processes threatened the security of the vote as well as the privacy of the voter. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was quick to respond:
This lawsuit is born out of the lies and misinformation the bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden administration has pushed against Georgia’s Election Integrity Act from the start. bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Joe Biden, Stacey Abrams, and their allies tried to force an unconstitutional election power grab through Congress — and failed. Now, they are weaponizing the U.S. Department of Justice to carry out their far-left agenda that undermines election integrity and empowers federal government overreach in our democracy.
George Washington University law professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley called the case “dubious,” noting that the law “has great overlap with other states like [ bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s home state of] Delaware.” In addition, Turley correctly noted that voter identification laws are now overwhelmingly popular with voters — so much so that even race-baiters like scumbag/worthless-Stacey Abrams now favor them.
In short, the bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden DOJ may live to regret these racially incendiary actions. ~The Patriot Post
Trump Draws a Crowd in Ohio
You wouldn’t know it by the lack of media coverage, but former President Donald Trump was back in campaign mode this weekend for the first time since leaving office. He wasn’t holding a 2024 campaign rally, though. First things first. When he greeted the crowd at Ohio’s Lorain County Fairgrounds, about 40 miles southwest of Cleveland, he told them they were attending “the very first rally of the 2022 election.” He then vowed, “We’re going to take back the House, and we’re going to take back the Senate. We have no choice.”
The event was dubbed a “Save America” rally and was the first of three expected public appearances for Trump. Next up will be a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border on Wednesday at the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, followed by a rally in Sarasota, Florida, on July 3.

Trump spent plenty of time on a topic we’ve been watching closely: the woke leadership of our Armed Forces. “The bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration issued new rules pushing twisted critical race theory,” he said. “Our generals and our admirals are now focused more on this nonsense than they are on our enemies.”
He continued: “You see these generals lately on television? They are woke. … The military brass have become weak and ineffective leaders. And our enemies are watching and they’re laughing.”
Trump’s choice of Ohio for his first rally was understandable. He carried the swing state by a comfortable eight-point margin in 2020, and he obviously feels at home there. But he was also there to throw his support behind a former White House aide, Max Miller, who’s mounting a primary challenge to an Ohio congressman who voted to impeach Trump. As the Columbus Dispatch reports:
Trump not only attacked Democrats, he also took aim at members of his own party, including Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, a northeastern Ohio congressman who was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach him on a charge of inciting the attack on the Capitol.
The Ohio Republican Party’s governing board voted in May to censure Gonzalez and called on him to resign. Weeks earlier, Trump hit back at Gonzalez by throwing his support to Max Miller, who is running against Gonzalez in next year’s GOP primary. Miller worked for Trump on the campaign trail and in the White House, and Saturday’s rally was held in part to promote Miller’s candidacy.
Of course, Trump also unloaded on bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Joe Biden “squandering all this hard-earned respect that we have — or had — bowing down to our enemies and embarrassing our country on the world stage.”
And he told the hard truth about bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden’s border czar’s suddenly urgent visit to the non-crisis border town of El Paso: “scumbag/liar-Kamala Harris, your vice president, only went to the border yesterday for one simple reason — that I announced that I was going.”
As has been his practice, Trump made no commitment about his 2024 plans. He railed against the 2020 election results though, calling it “the crime of the century” and saying that he’d “already won the presidency twice; it’s possible we’ll have to win it a third time.”

In Brief: How Illegals Fly to New Homes in America
As The Daily Signal’s Fred Lucas reports, there are four things to understand about this situation:
1.) Who Authorizes Flights for Adults?
The Department of Homeland Security now releases illegal immigrants to nonprofit groups that provide documents in manila folders for airport personnel to process.
However, some of the flights relocating illegal immigrants to a desired U.S. location are handled directly by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE Air Operations.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection, another agency within the Department of Homeland Security, generally provides certain documents to illegal immigrants to get through airport security for flights arranged by nongovernmental organizations.
Lucas gives as much detail as he could dig up related to the organizations in play, the forms required, and how this is all processed. Needless to say, it’s complicated.
2.) Who Authorizes Flights for Minors?
When unaccompanied minors who cross into the U.S. are flown elsewhere by government action, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement, or ORR, arranges the government-chartered flights. …
In more than 80% of release cases, a child has a relative in the United States and in 40% of such cases, that relative is a parent or legal guardian, according to HHS.
A related question would be how many adults are later permitted to enter the U.S. based on relation with these children?
3.) What’s the Impact on States?
Texas, a border state, had the largest share with 3,904 children; followed by 2,845 in Florida; 2,700 in California; and 2,323 in New York.
Over those six months, the only other states to receive more than 1,000 unaccompanied minors who have sponsors were Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Lucas doesn’t address it, but the cost borne by the states would be a worthy question to answer.
4.) Are These Illegal Immigrants Tested for COVID-19?
In the email to The Daily Signal, the HHS spokesperson said the Office of Refugee Resettlement follows guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for preventing and controlling communicable diseases, including COVID-19.
But…
ICE did not respond to a question from The Daily Signal about whether adult illegal immigrants or families processed by that agency are tested for COVID-19 before being put on commercial flights.
Remember, bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden hit Donald Trump for “xenophobia” for wanting travel bans during a pandemic. bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden, on the other hand, is busy releasing thousands of people into the country, and we just don’t trust the protocols being used.
In any case, the border crisis continues, and it may be coming to a town near you.
