‘Biggest Cover-Up in Human History’
On Monday, Republican members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee released a significant addendum to their September 2020 Origin of COVID-19 report. In it, they fully dismiss the claims of the virus’s origin in a wet market because “the preponderance of evidence suggests SARS-CoV-2 was accidentally released from a Wuhan Institute of Virology [WIV] laboratory.”
“As we continue to investigate the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe it’s time to completely dismiss the wet market as the source of the outbreak,” explained Republican ranking committee member Michael McCaul (R-TX). “Instead, as this report lays out, a preponderance of the evidence proves that all roads lead to the WIV.”
Several factors are highlighted in the report — not the least of which is the fact that the Wuhan Institute of Virology had been expressly engaged in gain-of-function coronavirus research. “We know gain-of-function research was happening at the WIV and we know it was being done in unsafe conditions,” McCaul said. “We also now know the head of the Chinese CDC and the director of the WIV’s BSL-4 lab publicly expressed concerns about safety at PRC labs in the summer of 2019.” The report also notes that the lab leak likely occurred in “late August or early September of 2019.”
The first COVID super-spreader incident likely occurred in November 2019 in Wuhan at the World Military Games. After returning to their home countries, several athletes reported getting sick with COVID-like symptoms. Furthermore, in December 2019, Chinese media reported accounts of a “viral pneumonia” in Wuhan.
However, it is the actions taken by the Chinese Communist Party early on that may be the most damning evidence pointing to an attempt to cover up a leak from the WIV.
First, safety issues: There were several voiced concerns over lax safety protocols at the WIV, “including from the head of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the head of the WIV’s BSL-4 lab.” There were also requests for maintenance on the WIV lab that was only two years old, including specifically on the “environmental air disinfection system” and the “hazardous waste treatment system.”
Second, hiding the evidence: After the likely leak, the CCP took the WIV’s virus database offline suddenly in the middle of the night with no explanation, while also requesting $1 million in additional security.
Third, the type of research: The report argues that what has been publicly reported to the American people — that it is impossible to modify a virus without leaving a trace — is not accurate. In fact, such technology existed for over 14 years before the pandemic. Furthermore, “Researchers at the WIV were also able to successfully modify coronaviruses without leaving a trace as early as 2016.” Therefore, the notion that the only possible origin for COVID is purely natural is dubious.
Along with releasing their report, Republicans are calling for researchers involved with the Wuhan lab to be sanctioned and for Peter Daszak, whose New York-based organization EcoHealth Alliance funneled some $3.4 million in National Institutes of Health grants to the Wuhan lab, to appear before Congress for questioning. “I believe that Peter Daszak needs to testify before Congress about what was going on,” contends McCaul. He also stated, “They were playing with fire.”
Indeed, a lot of people were playing with fire, and the entire world got burned. There have been 4.2 million deaths recorded worldwide, including more than 613,000 in the U.S. China still claims just 4,636 deaths, though it’s surely at least 100 times that high. The Election War Between the States
Election law is arguably the most significant legislative battle of this moment in American history. Democrats have loosened things to the point that elections are no longer trusted or trustworthy. Republicans want to rein it back in. The battles at the state level are intense, and sometimes, as in Texas, full of hysterical theatrics.
Way back in 2002, Republicans controlled all of Washington, but Democrats clung to the hope provided to them in a book called The Emerging Democratic Majority. In that book, political gurus John B. Judis and Ruy Teixeira argued that demographic and economic trends meant political trends would soon favor Democrats. Indeed, it wasn’t long before Democrats took over all of Washington. But it also wasn’t long — just two years — before that unified control fell apart. Nevertheless, Democrats persist in their belief that they’re entitled to a permanent majority.
That background explains some of the motivation behind efforts like bulk-mail balloting and legislation like HR 1 and HR 4, all of which are efforts to write election rules in such a way as to guarantee Democrats win. In other words, rigging the game.
And as always, they lie about GOP efforts to counter this, characterizing Republicans as “restricting” voting rights and the like.
“Republicans have decided that the only way they can win is by preventing American citizens from voting,” Elizabeth Warren complained in June. Other Democrats level the same charge regarding things like requiring an ID to vote. Horrors.
bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Joe Biden echoed that in July: “They want to make it so hard and inconvenient that they hope people don’t vote at all.” In fact, he added, the reality that several states had enacted election integrity measures was a “21st-century Jim Crow assault” on democracy itself. He’s assigned the “Jim Crow” epithet to election integrity numerous times, though he can’t seem to decide if that or the January 6 Capitol riot constitutes “the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War.” And just so you know that’s hyperbole, he added, “That’s not hyperbole.”
For the record, the real racists here are the Democrats suggesting that minorities are somehow less able to obtain an ID.
Back to the states. “At least 41 states have made changes to their election laws already this year following the contentious 2020 election,” reports The Wall Street Journal. Republicans, who control far more state houses, have sponsored 114 bills to Democrats’ 86.
Not all of those changes are significant, but some are. Many GOP bills are simply rolling back some of the expansions and exceptions put in place as the nation dealt with a once-in-a-century pandemic.
On Monday, more than 100 Democrat state legislators rallied in Washington to promote HR 1 (the grossly misnamed For the People Act). Many of these Democrats are from Texas, and they have been in Washington for weeks, derelict in their duty for having fled their state to prevent a quorum and a vote on election legislation. Republican Governor Greg Abbott promises to continue calling special sessions as long as needed to pass the bill.
Ironically, these state-level “representatives” want the federal government to override their states’ sovereignty in passing election laws. Crappy Anniversary, Crossfire Hurricane!
These days, we have an anniversary for just about everything: boot camp graduation; baby’s first steps; 10 years on the job; 195 days, 2 hours, 28 minutes, and 57 seconds of abject American misery under the bumble/ socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration. You get the idea.
But one infamous anniversary passed recently with nary a peep: Saturday, July 31, marked five years since the FBI opened up the Crossfire Hurricane investigation of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. In doing so, a few partisan players at the J. Edgar Hoover Building violated the civil rights of Trump and his associates, sabotaged his presidency with phony charges of Russian collusion during the 2016 election, and debased a perfectly good Rolling Stones tune.
And more important: The actions of then-FBI Director scumbag/liar-James Comey, Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Special Agent Peter Strzok, lawyers Lisa Page and Kevin Clinesmith, and a handful of other Trump-hating partisans deeply disgraced a once proud bureau and rendered it untrustworthy to tens of millions of American citizens.
The Washington Examiner’s Byron York noted this anniversary with a brief but brilliant synopsis of the whole sordid affair. He writes:
On July 31, the FBI started the process that led to a million leaks, enormous damage to candidate Trump, and then President-elect Trump, and then President Trump, the abuse of the government’s secret surveillance court to wiretap a low-level Trump adviser, efforts to impeach the president, more leaks, media hysteria, and, finally, the investigation of special counsel Robert Mueller, who could not establish that collusion — he called it “conspiracy” or “coordination” — ever took place, much less that Trump or anyone associated with him was involved with it.
It was a multi-year wild goose chase. And it did incalculable damage to the country. Certainly, some portion of the distrust of the FBI that exists today is the direct result of the bureau’s fruitless pursuit of Trump.
York also details what he calls “one of the most atrocious scenes in recent political history, or perhaps all political history.” He’s speaking of the episode in which scumbag/ liar-Comey comes to Trump Tower to “brief” then-President elect Trump on the intelligence community’s assessment of Russian interference in the just-concluded 2016 presidential election. It was a setup, we now know — an opportunity for scumbag/liar-Comey to share the salacious findings of the phony “Steele dossier” with Trump before its rotten and unverified contents were “mysteriously” leaked to the media.
As it stands, U.S. Attorney John Durham, who was given “special counsel” status by then-Attorney General William Barr toward the end of Trump’s term, is the lone hope for those of us who revere the Constitution and believe that no one, regardless of their political affiliations, is above the law.
Durham has been investigating the investigators since the spring of 2019, but to little avail so far. As Yahoo News reports: “Much to the chagrin of Trump and his allies, Durham has so far secured only one guilty plea. FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who has since left the bureau, admitted to Durham in the summer of 2020 he falsified a document during efforts to renew its Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act authority to wiretap former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page by editing a CIA email in 2017 to state that Page was ‘not a source.’”
Think about it: For the crime of having falsified evidence deeply injurious to a sitting U.S. president, Clinesmith, an FBI lawyer, got a mere slap on the wrist. And the scumbags who told him to do it are still free men.
July 31 is thus a date well worth remembering. Why? Because the entire investigation was garbage, because justice still hasn’t been served, and because, as Donald Trump himself has said numerous times, “We can never let this happen to another president again.”

Who Has Been Proven Right?
Credibility is a big deal. Those who have it need to be careful to keep it. It’s something that can be easily lost, and the consequences of losing credibility can be dire. One way credibility is gained is by being right all along. And right now, six years after Donald Trump launched his 2016 presidential campaign, grassroots Patriots can really ascertain who was and was not right.
For instance, it is beyond dispute that serious abuses took place over the last decade, culminating in the “fortification” of the 2020 election, which included bulk-mail ballots and the removal of the guardrails meant to secure election integrity.
Yet we are told by the likes of Amanda Carpenter, who heads Republicans for Voting Rights (which is, for all intents and purposes, a stalking horse for the likes of Marc Elias and the rest of Time magazine’s “well-funded cabal”), that these efforts are an affront to democracy and we should go along with two massive leftist power grabs: The For The People Act, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Enhancement Act. Oh, in addition to believing the Big Lies the Left tells about us, we’re also supposed to pretend that the power thereby grabbed won’t be abused.
The fact of the matter is, given the track record we’ve seen over the years, Carpenter is one of those establishment types who long ago lost her credibility. So, who has been proven right over the years?
One person has been Kurt Schlichter. Back in 2017, the one-time Trump skeptic warned about the Left’s hatred for grassroots Patriots and what it could lead to. And David French had the temerity to label as liars Schlichter and others who sounded warnings. We debunked French’s false accusations regarding left-wing hatred. Dennis Prager gave a similar warning, and in the heat of the dispute over the results of the 2020 election, he asked a question nobody among the Left or the Never-Trump cabal seems to be willing to answer.
Take a long look at what’s going on — the show trial that Nancy Pelosi is using the House of Representatives to run, the attack on WinRed, corporate America redlining grassroots Patriots, and the targeting of conservative media — and ask yourself: Whose predictions turned out to be correct?
This doesn’t just apply to punditry — the public health establishment is rightly distrusted after the menu police’s double standards, playing favorites, and the seemingly depraved indifference to the suffering that the lockdowns inflicted on so many people. Yet there seems to be zero interest among those groups in taking ANY of the steps that would rebuild trust.
We at The Patriot Post are not above giving people the benefit of the doubt. We’re aware that people are human and can make mistakes, or come to changes of opinion on topics, and that on occasion, times will elevate some issues to much greater importance than others. But some people are more deserving of it than others, and the ones who get the benefit of the doubt are the ones with a track record of being right.

Crime Problem in Texas a Bad Omen for Rest of U.S.
Supporters of illegal immigration like to portray all of the aliens now flooding across the southern border as benign individuals simply seeking a better life. Many no doubt are, but the latest report from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows just how dangerous some of them are.
That report outlines more than 573,000 criminal offenses committed by illegal aliens “over the course of their entire Texas criminal careers.” And that’s surely just the tip of the iceberg, as the report only covers state offenses, not federal crimes, not crimes committed in other states, and not crimes committed by aliens in the country legally.
But what a shocking catalogue of victimization of Texas residents it is.
The report by the famous Texas Rangers shows that over 344,000 criminal aliens were booked into local Texas jails between June 1, 2011, and June 30, 2021, of which over 235,000 were classified as illegal aliens. The criminal offenses with which they were charged included:
- 1,245 homicides
- 66,924 assaults
- 17,456 burglaries
- 72,835 drug charges
- 980 kidnappings
- 33,335 thefts
- 4,155 robberies
- 7.076 sexual assaults
- 8,332 sexual offenses
- 49,408 obstructing police charges
- 8,317 weapons charges
Keep in mind, as the Texas report says, that these figures “represent the minimum number of crimes associated with criminal illegal aliens” (emphasis added). Why? Because Texas is counting as illegal aliens only those who “previously had an encounter” with the Department of Homeland Security that “resulted in their fingerprints being entered into the DHS IDENT database.”
Except in a relatively small number of cases, aliens who enter the country illegally but “avoid detection by DHS” are not going to be identified as being in the country illegally when they are arrested for committing a crime in Texas.
There are two important points here. First, given the huge number of illegal aliens getting into the country without detection, the number of crimes committed by these aliens in Texas (and other states) is probably much higher than these already-unacceptable numbers.
Second, why were these 235,000 illegal aliens — who were identified because they had been previously detained by DHS — still in Texas, still present in this country, and thus able to commit their crimes? This is the consequence of the “catch and release” policy favored by liberal administrations, including the bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden administration, which the Trump administration tried to end.
The bottom line here is that, using just one of the appalling numbers highlighted by the Texas report, there are 1,245 Texans who would likely still be alive today if we were securing our border and vigorously enforcing our immigration laws by quickly and effectively deporting aliens whose first act is to enter the country illegally, and whose second act is to assault, kidnap, rob and murder our citizens.
As the Texas Department of Public Safety starkly says, this report, “identifies thousands of crimes that should not have occurred and thousands of victims that should not have been victimized because the perpetrator should not be here.”
No truer words have been spoken about the illegal alien problem and the reckless open-border policy of the bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden administration. ~The Patriot Post

COVID Panic, Round 2
As best I recall, the sequence of statements coming from the government and “experts” since the beginning of COVID-19 has gone something like this: You don’t need to wear a mask and it’s no more serious than the flu; you do need to wear a mask, though the virus is so small it can penetrate all but the N95 brand, so you should wear two masks; a vaccine will protect you from catching the virus and, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you won’t have to wear a mask if fully vaccinated; you must still wear a mask even if fully vaccinated because of the Delta variant; if you have been fully vaccinated it is unlikely you will catch the Delta variant, but wear a mask anyway just in case; kids may or may not return to school and if they do return, they may or may not be forced to wear masks, even though young children appear to be less affected by the virus.
Is that clear? I didn’t think so.
The CDC adds to the confusion each time it issues new statements. The latest came last week from CDC Director Rochelle Walensky who said, “everyone wears a mask in indoor public settings in areas of substantial and high transmission, regardless of vaccination status.”
That has raised the obvious question: Why get vaccinated if you must behave like those who have not been vaccinated?
Last Friday, Walensky appeared on Fox News “Special Report with Bret Baier.” She told him the federal government is “looking into” making vaccinations a requirement for all Americans. Walensky later “clarified” her remarks on Twitter, stating there would be no nationwide mandate. How can we be certain since the government and “experts” have put out conflicting statements from the beginning of the pandemic? The response is always that the science is changing. Peculiar that the science is changing when it comes to COVID-19 but seems settled on climate change.
The latest “panic” and “fiasco,” as a Wall Street Journal editorial termed it, stems from a small outbreak in Massachusetts. According to the CDC, only 274 vaccinated people acquired an infection, with just five admitted to a hospital. No deaths were reported. That’s a far cry from the thousands of deaths per day and overflowing hospitals just a few months ago. Fewer deaths could suggest the virus, like the annual winter flu, appears to be headed toward something that is manageable, perhaps with annual vaccinations, as with the flu.
You wouldn’t know that from the bumble/socialist/ scumbag/liar-Biden administration’s changing reactions.
If you have recently flown on a commercial airliner, you heard announcements from flight attendants — often repeated by the captain — of a list of new federal requirements, including mandatory mask wearing for the entire trip, except when “actively” eating or drinking, or putting on an oxygen mask. Emphasis is placed on the penalties, which include never being able to fly again, heavy fines, even prison. I lost count of the number of times the word “federal” was used. Prior to COVID-19, the only mention of “federal” related to tampering or destroying lavatory smoke detectors.
In a recent WSJ column, Holman W. Jenkins Jr. warned that the CDC has contributed to “the growing disrepute of the government agency we most rely on.” He noted even “The New York Times Sunday Magazine recently headlined its account: ‘Covid Proved the C.D.C. Is Broken.’”
When the credibility of the federal government declines like TV ratings for the Summer Olympics, we are in trouble. It would be helpful if the various agencies and the president could speak with one credible voice. If this latest panic should lead to another government shutdown, compliance is likely to be far less than the previous one. In fact, most individuals and businesses will likely ignore it. ~The Patriot Post

In foreign affairs, the president has appeared feckless and weak, emboldening our adversaries and frightening our allies. In domestic affairs, his policies have created a catastrophe on our southern border and caused huge spikes in inflation, violent crime and upheaval over COVID-19 issues.
bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden and his controllers now have a chance to save his presidency from complete failure. It’s a cry for help from the Cuban people desperate to throw off the shackles of a Marxist government that has held them in bondage for 62 years. bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s response to their pleas could well be a turning point in history. And President Ronald Reagan — not John F. Kennedy — has provided bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden with a playbook to follow. First, a bit of history.
When Fidel Castro overthrew Fulgencio Batista in 1959, many of the Cuban people believed Castro’s canard of a socialist paradise. They soon learned all they did was exchange a right-wing autocrat for a communist dictator.
Castro quickly did what all socialist tyrants do. With guidance and assets from the Soviets, he used his military and secret security services to consolidate power and maintain control over the Cuban population.
But the Soviet Union is no more; the Castro family is gone; the massive and oppressive police state they constructed is bankrupt; and the Cuban people have had enough. They learned the hard way socialism results not in utopia, but in what we warn about in our newly released book, “We Didn’t Fight for Socialism.”
According to participants, last month’s anti-government protests from July 11-16 were precipitated by a deadly nationwide outbreak of the China virus, a lack of vaccines or medical treatment, shortages of every basic need and a dearth of civil freedoms. The protests were a surprise to Washington’s power brokers. Despite intensive surveillance and monitoring systems installed throughout Cuba with the help of the People’s Republic of China, the regime in Havana was also caught off guard.
President Miguel Diaz-Canel — Raul Castro’s colorless successor as head of state and Cuba’s Communist Party — was “shocked and surprised.” But within six days, he responded as expected in a totalitarian socialist state: brutal suppression by pro-government thugs and a nationwide shutdown with “jamming” of social media outlets and cell phone service. By July 17 — with the death of as many as five protestors — the regime claimed “la protesta ha terminado.”
But the protest isn’t over; it has been driven back underground. Hundreds — perhaps thousands — have been arrested or worse, but the grievances of the people remain. Herein is bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s opportunity — not for another “covert operation” like Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs or the use of American military force. Rather, the best thing bumble/socialist/scumbag/ liar-Biden can do for himself, our country and the people of Cuba is emulate Reagan’s engagement with Solidarity.
Reagan’s public support for Solidarity’s nonviolent struggle against the communist regime in Warsaw, Poland, was carefully coordinated through quiet diplomacy with Pope John Paul II, the only Polish primate in the Roman Catholic Church. The only “covert operation” back then was finding non-government entities to provide fax machines to Solidarity so supporters could safely communicate. Hint: Pope Francis is from Latin America.
bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s staff should study the many other ways Reagan deftly helped Solidarity end communism in Poland, but they better hurry; the U.N. General Assembly meets next month. The Organization of American States Inter-American Commission on Human Rights needs support for investigating oppression in Cuba.
Following Reagan’s “Solidarity” model for Cuba could well save bumble/socialist/scumbag/liar-Biden’s presidency from complete failure.
