  • when I first arrived in USA and began to see the abundance everywhere, I was shocked, couldn't believe my eyes!
when I heard how people complained about being poor while they were fat, had closet full of clothes and shoes, jewelry, cars, TVs, washing machines and refrigerators I just laughed at the fact that they had no clue what poor is.
I always had enough food that I was never hungry, but never had more than what we needed, and we never threw away food!  I had a winter coat and boots, I had two dresses a skirt and two sweaters. In the summer two summer dresses, sandals and a raincoat. That's it! Never had a car, a TV, telephone, a washing machine, we cooked and heated with coal. I never heard of Coca-Cola, or chips, there were no fast food places, we ate at home, read books, played board games and cards, we had conversations at home and out when we ran into friends, made our own clothes and knitted our sweaters, we walked everywhere or took the train........ it never occurred to me that we were poor.
Most Americans would never survive communism, and have no clue what poor is!

  • If it looks like poverty.....it's cousin to communism.

  • Poverty, shortages, hunger.......it's all part of the result of communism. I know firsthand!
