The Sound Of War...

The Sound Of War

We who have seen war will never stop seeing it; from the sounds of the night... the voice of our fallen declare it. Where comes the bird of war... to devour the flesh of our youth... to take hold of the soul of man, to rip it asunder? Where comes the sound of fury loosed in the bowels of the earth... to bring down the mountains of the mighty.

Who sounds the trumpet... to call the bards of war; to wield the voice of anger, in the earth? Who takes hold of the heart of my brother... to lay him waste in fields of tears?

Thou, O man, doth tread upon another... so quickly to judge, so harshly to view the fallen. Where comes this spirit of war? Let us no more take the sword to plow our fields... to make our rivers run red... with the sons of men.

Rather, let us lift our voices in the light of day... to declare the error of yesterday. That tomorrow may bring the bitter soul, to sweet waters... that the sound of fury may forever be lost... in nights long forgotten.

It is with a heavy heart and much regret... that those who have known the sound of war ponder the days when the drums of war may sound once again. Will man ever find peace in a world where love is so easily set aside... for the sword?

  • Odd, how men ignore peace and gravitates to war... It is the nature of men to seek self-gratification... Man is simply not made to be a servant...
