  • I wonder if this is some sort of Psy-Op. The CIA has always had to do lots of dirty work and deception. It may come with the territory, but is not acceptible in regular society. Consider this before passing judgment; While the original directives were classified top secret those were declassified and can be read on line. Agency wide classification policy is governed by Executive Order 13526 and Intelligence Community/agency implementing directives; Modern CIA directives and implementing guidance fall into three broad categories:
Public/unclassified guidance and policies Routinely Classified directives and internal implementing instructions that concern operations, tradecraft, or national-security procedures
Those rules allow agencies to create classified implementing directives, classification guides, and operations controlling what must stay secret. So, this may be an operation to ferret out bad actors or it could be completely true. It would probably depend on if the CIA officer was actually a field operative, administrative section personnel, Internal, security personnel, or executive level. IMHO!
    • So you are saying we don't really have a way to know.  I get that.

  • Well, psycho is one word for it.

  • Could be right. Suspicious.
