Large online female community has launched a coordinated TikTok movement in support of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother charged with strangling her three young children.

Participants are declaring their allegiance from whatever state they’re in, using “Labour,” already an anthem in anti-patriarchy circles, as their soundtrack. Many portray Clancy not as a woman whose defense cites severe postpartum psychosis, but as an almost certain victim of her husband, whom they insist must be the real perpetrator.

As a woman who lived through postpartum distress, I find this response terrifying and disgusting. The willingness of so many, especially those identifying as medical professionals, to rush to exonerate or romanticize a mother accused of killing her own children reveals a chilling inversion of priorities. The children’s lives seem almost incidental compared with the ideological need to protect a narrative of female victimhood.

When the defense itself centers on the mother’s mental state at the time of the acts, the leap to “she is innocent and he did it” is not solidarity. It is denial dressed up as feminism.

I would not trust any of these women within five feet of a child.
