Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton introduce resolution condemning 'defund the police' movement | News Break

Trump announced 20 additional potential nominees that would be added to a list of candidates for the Supreme Court, including Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Noel Francisco, who departed as solicitor general in June.

The move represents a bid to shore up his support among conservatives two months from the 2020 presidential election. In remarks at the White House, Trump warned that religious liberty, freedom of speech and the right to bear arms are all at risk if Democrats win the election, asserting that they would appoint “radical” justices to the high court.

“Over the next four years, America’s president will choose hundreds of federal judges and in all likelihood, one, two, three and even four Supreme Court justices,” Trump said in remarks from the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House.

“The outcome of these decisions will determine whether we hold fast to our nation’s founding principles or whether they are lost forever,” Trump continued.

  • Judge Jeaninie would be great.  And some may have lost confidence in him but Andrew Napolitano would be great too.  Maybe he's a little narcisistic, but he'd still be a great judge.

    • Napolitano thought Cruz was an NBC. He was wrong flat out wrong.

  • These two would both be a LOOONG way better than Gorsuch or Kavanaugh, neither of which are Conservatives. Fence-Riding Moderates, MAYBE, but NOT Conservatives. In 2016, Cruz wasn't interested, but I think he might be more receptive now. The problem with the Republican Party is lack of TRUE Conservatives, and too many RINOs. It's time to change that.

    • Cruz is another Roberts

    • I agree. Cruz's behavior at the R convention, showed his inherent narcissism. Trump gave him the platform and not once did he say anything in support of Trump. It was all about himself.

    • He has CFR ties and will do their bidding. Same as Graham who is also a CFR member and will never bring any results forward of his investigations, he suckers us with his words that we want to hear while breaking his oath. TRAITORS ALL.

  • Yes,  he would. They both would. I hope they make it.

  • Cruz and Cotton are both real conservative and won't be a disappointment like Roberts and Gorsuch are. Cruz and Cotton have proven their conservative credential many times over. I am certain that they would be as good and as reliable as Alito and Thomas are.

    • So, for the record, it doesn't matter if our US Senators or Supreme Court Justices are not US Citizens by law?  I would also point you to Sen. Cruz's wife and his direct connection with the Rockefeller Foundation, The CFR, and his personal work on the North American Union... the creation of a single government and economy for Canada, Mexico, and the USA.  Cruz is a conservative and I like him... however, I don't favor his leaning to a one-world government or the fact that he has not provided proof that he is legally a US Citizen.  He has never Naturalized in accordance with our laws.

    • According to the SC he is a USA citizen...

the dimbiciles opened the door on this shit when they got obummer declared a "natural born citizen".

And yes, if you read the constitutional requirements for an SC Justice there is NO citizenship requirment.  IF you can find it in a seperate law then let us know where to find it.
