  • True.

  •  John Adam's letter written on October 11, 1798, to the officers of the Massachusetts militia:

But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation, while it is practising iniquity and extravagance, and displays in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candour, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in the rapine and insolence, this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world. Because we have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

In other words, more laws for more immoral and ignorant people. If people were, therefore, moral, fewer laws are required. It is comparable to a zoo, imho. Storks have much freedom as they do no harm, nor infringe on other's rights, while lions, tigers and bears require much restraint and enclosure and limitations in every way.

I am saying, more amendments are not necessary. Anthing that creates more government results in more limits upon more freedoms. Cant we learn from the attacks on the 2A?
In a world of more amendments, Rand Paul and Thomas Massie would not be able to be reelected. Nor MTG. and more.

What is the ROOT of it all?

Only HE traverses the paths of righteousness and walks the paths of justice. More actual Christianity, fewer laws and restraints.

    • One must first restrain the loose Lions and Tigers before releasing them to the public... laws ... ropes and chains..., restraints are therefore necessary in the short run...  Unless of course you are a Lion or Tiger and refute the need for restraint... Let us at least muzzel the rouges before releasing them to fee with the sheep.

    • LIke I have said before, streetcorner hangings are cheap and educational, and worthy of changing the rotten culture.

  • Michael@,  I agree but we first  have to carry out the trash. That said we have to come to a agreement that everyone  that has been  elected to 2 terms we will not reelect. Vote in repsenatives that will vote in some term limits.

  • Gonernment cannot justify it's existance without there being some sort of chaos or crisis and if they can't find one they will create one or many ! Gonernment by design, exists only to protect itself ! President Donald Trump knows this and that is what he was trying to change and if he ever gets another chance he will change. He will bring back the Constitution from the archives of historical fiction.

    • Bad government exists only to protect itself... good government exists to serve the public interest and defense.  Good government is limited government that remains within its charter... in our case the Constitution.  Bad government has no restraints or functioning limits on its exercise of power.

Finally, governments are necessary for the maintenance of social order and the public's security from the ill minds of mankind.  Without a functioning government chaos exists and every evil is left to feed on the public.

  • What we really need is "Term Limits". This would reduce the crimes of career politicians against the American Tax Payers. The longer they stay in office the more time they have to pick our pockets for their own interest.

    • That would really help clean out the trash

  • Democrats want to hire more Democrats for government. They do this by writing more laws and expanding the positions in government

    NO MORE NEW LAWS!

Just enforce the ones we have already.
