{ washingtonexaminer.com } ~ Speaker scumbag/liar-Nancy Pelosi has abandoned the 48-hour deadline she imposed for a coronavirus aid deal in Congress and will continue to negotiate with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, she said Tuesday...The California Democrat told reporters following a 3 p.m. phone call with Mnuchin that the two sides are still working on a preelection deal. “That’s the hope,” she said. scumbag/liar-Pelosi, speaking to Bloomberg News earlier, said the two “are on a path” to a bipartisan deal and that it didn’t have to happen by Tuesday. The measure is likely to cost more than the $1.8 trillion offer Mnuchin provided earlier this month but that scumbag/liar-Pelosi said falls short of what Democrats say is needed to respond to the coronavirus. scumbag/liar-Pelosi and Mnuchin have been negotiating for months to try to close the wide gap in cost and scope of spending the two sides are seeking. Across the Capitol, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, said that if scumbag/liar-Pelosi and Mnuchin reach a deal, he’ll bring it up for a vote, even though it’s likely the vast majority of the GOP conference will deem it too costly and vote against it. McConnell is no fan of a big spending bill, and Republican leaders said it is highly unlikely they’ll be able to find 13 Republicans to vote along with Democrats to provide the needed 60 votes to pass even Mnuchin’s $1.8 trillion proposal. Instead, the Senate is slated to vote this week for a second time on a $500 billion coronavirus aid package that has nearly universal Republican support but no Democratic support. scumbag/liar-Pelosi said last weekend the two parties needed to strike a deal within 48 hours in order to ensure the House has time to consider and to vote on it ahead of the Nov. 3 election. scumbag/liar-Pelosi deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill said scumbag/liar-Pelosi and Mnuchin spoke for 45 minutes and the talks “provided more clarity and common ground as they move closer to an agreement.” They plan another meeting on Wednesday.   https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/congress/pelosi-abandons-tuesday-deadline-amid-hope-of-deal-with-trump-on-coronavirus-aid-package?utm_source=WEX_Breaking%20News%20Alert_10/20/2020&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WEX_Breaking%20News&rid=5261

{ newshourfirst.com } ~ Chief Samuel Peña with the Houston Fire Department identified the fire investigator who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Friday morning and it’s obvious that the department is shocked at what transpired...Chief Peña relates that 44-year-old Lemuel Bruce “was killed in a shooting while on duty. He’s the first HFD arson investigator to be killed by gunfire in the line of duty.” According to Chief Peña, “the investigator was part of a team looking into recent arson fires” in the Timbergrove and Heights neighborhoods of Houston, Texas. Gunfire erupted around 3:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of 18th Street. While the arson team was prowling through the ashes of the suspicious fires, officials explain that “Investigator Bruce spotted a vehicle that met the description of a suspect they were interested in.” He was “following the suspect while waiting for his other team members to get into the area.” Obviously, the arson suspect noticed he was being followed. “At some point there was an exchange of gunfire,” authorities say. They could tell because when they got there they found that “Investigator Bruce was shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.” The arson and murder suspect “also died at the scene.” As reported by police, 30-year-old Joshua De La Cerda “was found inside a gray Hyundai with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.” He decided to take the easy way out. As reported by the local Fox station, “Just blocks away in the Heights, a car was left burned to a char.” The arson victim, Charla Allen, told reporters that “her Ring doorbell captured an arsonist leaving her driveway after lighting the car on fire.” It happened just minutes before the shootout. “I don’t think we were targeted. They’ve been doing this for two weeks all over the Heights. It just happened our car was parked out here.” She went on to add, “It’s a little infuriating, but a car can be replaced, unlike the officer that was killed, and we feel terrible about that—such a waste. The car’s not worth it.” It isn’t clear if De La Cerda was behind all of the recent arson fires or what his political leanings are. According to the chief, “Investigator Bruce began his career with HFD in 2003 and has been an investigator for five years.” Also, “He had a wife and two children, 12 and eight. They are hurting right now. The department is hurting. And I want to give my condolences to them. I want to ask the community to please, please keep the fire department and the Bruce family in their prayers.”  https://newshourfirst.com/2020/10/20/arson-investigator-gunned-down/?utm_source=NHF%20Mailer&utm_medium=email&utm_content=subscriber_id:4036889&utm_campaign=NHF%20AG%20William%20Barr%20Indicts%208%20for%20Funneling%20Millions%20in%20Donations%20to%20Schiff,%20Clinton%20and%20Top%20Senate%20Democrats%20(Duplicate%20%231)

{ newshourfirst.com } ~ Attorney General William Barr has announced indictments for eight individuals who illegally funneled foreign donations to several top Democrat politicians...As reported by the Gateway Pundit, “Democrat operative and Robert Mueller chief witness George Nader was indicted for his involvement in illegal campaign contributions from foreign entities to the scumbag/liar-Hillary campaign in 2016.” Nader is also a convicted child molester. After Nader’s indictment, it has been reported that seven other individuals connected to the scheme were indicted. The Department of Justice reported  that “an indictment was unsealed against the CEO of an online payment processing company, and seven others, charging them with conspiring to make and conceal conduit and excessive campaign contributions, and related offenses, during the U.S. presidential election in 2016 and thereafter.” The long list of organizations that received these illegal donations includes the largest Democratic party super-PAC, Priorities USA. OpenSecrets has a list of donations by Ahmad Khawaja, one of the ringleaders of the scheme, here  (https://www.opensecrets.org/search?order=desc&q=ahmad+khawaja&sort=A&type=donors&scrim=B ). According to the Gateway Pundit, “all of the leading names in the Democratic party took in this money including scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff and Ted Lieu, Jon Tester, scumbag-Cory Booker, scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton, etc.” The Department of Justice’s announcement was made by Assistant Attorney General of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division Brian A. Benczkowski, and the Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office Timothy R. Slater. The eight individuals indicted were George Nader, Ahmad Khawaja, Roy Boulos, Rudy Dekermenjian, Mohammad Diab, Rani El-Saadi, Stevan Hill, and Thayne Whipple...

{ dailycaller.com } ~ President Donald Trump urged Attorney General Bill Barr to appoint an investigator to probe corruption allegations raised by documents and conversations allegedly recovered from Hunter Biden’s hard drive... “We’ve got to get the attorney general to act,” Trump said Tuesday when asked during a “Fox & Friends” interview if he plans to tap a special counsel to investigate the allegations. “He’s got to act, and he’s got to act fast. He’s got to appoint somebody.”   “This is major corruption, and this has to be known about before the election,” the president continued. “This has to be done early, so the attorney general has to act.”  The New York Post was the first news outlet to report on Biden’s hard drive, but questions remain about both the veracity of its contents and how exactly, if at all, the communications implicate former Vice President scumbag drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden in the alleged corruption scandal. Former New York City Mayor and Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani sat down for an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller to discuss the hard drive’s contents but refused to turn over the entire trance of documents to be inspected and verified. To date, Giuliani has only passed along a fraction of the hard drive’s contents to the New York Post and Fox News.

{ westernjournal.com } ~ Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, along with other GOP senators, has introduced a constitutional amendment that, if it were to pass, would prevent court packing on the Supreme Court...Additionally, the Texas senator is pushing a separate proposal to forever block Democrats, should they regain control of the Senate, from passing any legislation to add additional justices to the high court. The amendment proposal states simply, “the Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine justices.” That amendment is known as the “Keep Nine” amendment, according to a text of the proposal shared on the Cruz Senate website. The legislative proposals pushed by Cruz are supported by GOP Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Kelly Loeffler of Georgia, Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi, and Martha McSally of Arizona. “Make no mistake, if Democrats win the election, they will end the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court, expanding the number of justices to advance their radical political agenda, entrenching their power for generations, and destroying the foundations of our democratic system,” Cruz said in a statement on his website. “We must take action before Election Day to safeguard the Supreme Court and the constitutional liberties that hang in the balance,” the senator added. “That’s why I’m proud to introduce these two commonsense proposals, which will prevent either party from adding or contracting the number of justices on the bench for political advantage.” McSally, who is engaged in a close race with Democratic challenger Mark Kelly in Arizona, said, “Threats by Democrats to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court and add liberal activist judges is disturbing and dangerous.” “On top of that, some Democrats reluctance to even answer whether they would pack the Court proves a far more frightening reality,” she added. The other GOP senators in support of the proposals all agreed that an amendment is needed to keep the Supreme Court at nine justices. The media briefing added, “Before President Trump had even nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett, Senate Democrats had already pledged their opposition to her confirmation.” The media briefing cites statements made by Democratic presidential nominee scumbag drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden as well as Democratic Sens. Ed Markey and dinky/liar-Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, worthless-Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, and lowlife-Kamala Harris of California as evidence Democrats intend to pack the court, should they take power after the November election...  https://www.westernjournal.com/ted-cruz-introduces-major-constitutional-amendment/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=patriotupdate&utm_campaign=dailyam&utm_content=libertyalliance&ats_es=7220442bc3498cb5e2d68f3cb4d11680

NATE JACKSON   It’s all over but the crying. Democrats have little recourse to prevent the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. That doesn’t mean they won’t try.

In 2013, then-Senate Majority Leader dinky-Harry Reid nuked the filibuster for judicial nominees, though Democrats retained it for the Supreme Court. “You’ll regret this,” then Minority Leader Mitch McConnell warned, “and you may regret this a lot sooner than you think.”

That “sooner than you think” came in 2017, when Democrats chose to filibuster Neil Gorsuch because they were bitter that Republicans had refused to even hold hearings for Merrick Garland the previous year. Sure enough, Majority Leader McConnell gave Democrats a dose of their own medicine, eliminating the filibuster even for SCOTUS nominees.

The move left Democrats unable to obstruct Gorsuch, and it later ensured they were unsuccessful in their attempt to character assassinate Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. Similarly, they’re without much hope for stopping Barrett now. “This goose is pretty much cooked,” lamented scumbag-Cory Booker.

Politics ain’t bean bag, and both parties have escalated the fight over the Supreme Court. Then again, we say “both parties,” but the fault clearly lies with Democrats. Not only have they treated GOP nominees with grotesque contempt ever since defeating Robert Bork in 1987, but they have politicized the Court’s decisions and filled the federal bench with activist judges to do what Democrats cannot do at the ballot box or the halls of Congress.

During four days of hearings, Barrett displayed her stellar qualifications and amiable temperament — even eliciting mild praise from Democrats like Dianne Fein-stein (her dogmatically anti-religious hot-mic moment  notwithstanding). Yet Democrats have to be able to tell their radical base they did something to stop Barrett.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck scumbag-Schumer has just the thing: Democrats might once again break precedent and trash basic decency in the Senate by refusing to supply a quorum for a vote. Why? Barrett’s nomination, he says, is “illegitimate, dangerous, and unpopular.” Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

But will the scheme work? Power Line’s Paul Mirengoff doesn’t think so. “A quorum in the full Senate is 51 members,” he explains. “In the Judiciary Committee it’s nine members including two from the minority party.” Even so, “Republicans could work around this pretty easily.”

The GOP can either approve a discharge resolution relieving the Judiciary Committee of its authority on moving the nomination forward, or the committee itself can change its quorum rules. scumbag-Schumer likely hopes to accomplish two things: First, push Republicans to make hardball moves that he can whine about to the Democrats’ Leftmedia super PAC to generate sympathy. Second, lay the groundwork for justifying packing the court next year by insisting that Republicans have unfairly “stolen two Supreme Court seats.”

That may work with Schumer’s base, but again, Barrett has proven herself thoroughly likable, and the spectacle of Democrats taking their ball and going home in order to prevent the Judiciary Committee from even voting on a qualified woman would be tough to spin, even with the might of the mainstream media behind them.

Finally, we’ll leave you with a quote from Barrett herself on the first day of hearings: “I interpret the Constitution as a law. That I interpret its text as text. And I understand it to have the meaning that it had at the time people ratified it. So that meaning doesn’t change over time, and it isn’t up to me to update or infuse my own policy views into it.” That, plain and simple, is a justice’s job. We look forward to seeing her do it.   ~The Patriot Post
