Because it is just that dire scenario she is alluding to, to inflict upon Humanity, ever so tactfully.
Its funny how I see a strange look to her face, especially the gleaming eyes and a trace smirk, that says, "amoral rascal". The look of a stoat,weasle, or ferret. I suspect we are seeing this woman at her most polite form.
She seems almost like she isn't comfortable in her own skin. Something ugly is in there.
