Additionally, the power of the purse died with the funding of the governmetn using the CONTINUING RESOLUTION... and the placing of government essential services on auto-pilot when no appropriations bill is passed.
THERE IS NO POWER OF THE PURSE ANYLONGER.. most of the government operates on auto-pilot without an APPROPRIATIONS BILL... In recent times, our government has functioned under CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS more than not. The essential services of the government don't shut down, even when left unfunded... Never... Essential services continue under Executive Order and a short-term continuing resolution. Threats to shut the government down are a JOKE and the politicians know it. Hence, any threat to shut the government down is an empty threat.
Even if Congress could pass a bill to defund the government... the President would veto it or simply ignore it. Congress would need to IMPEACH the President... to stop his funding of the government... That however is not likely to work, as it takes 2/3rds of the Senate to convict a President... the same number of votes that it takes to override a VETO... If Congress can not override a veto, they can not convict a president upon impeachment to remove him.
The public is being lied to by the GOP and Democrat Party... Why both? Because the only remaining viable Constitutional option for reform would be an Article 5 convention. to consider amendments that would permanently reform the Federal Government... the passing of a RECALL Amendment, to recall (remove) ALL of the current sitting elected and appointed officials in the Federal Government, subject to new elections and appointments. The passage of a Term Limits Amendment, ending the professional political class's hold on the government and the current spoils system of government. The Congress is not about to call an Article 5 convention as they fear it may well result in their recall and possible imprisonment.

This is exactly why nothing short of a revolution along with proclaiming a new country as we did in 1776 will fix anything. The current US Constitution failed to prevent this disaster from happening. Article 5 is as hallow and meaningless as anything else in the US Constitution. Otherwise the US of 2022 wouldn't look like a banana republic, where you can't trust anything related to the government. As you said, not even elections can be trusted, let alone any branch of government or law enforcement or anything else "governement".
The Constitution does not need rewriting... the Politicians need to be run out of town and the people need to return to Godly living... If we expect to have a safe, secure, prosperous, and successful nation. The people suffer under the hand of despots but under the arm of the righteous, they prosper...
It is not so much the form of government as it is the administration of the law which brings liberty and justice to all... no matter the form of government.

Everybody knows that things were much, much, much better under President Donald J. Trump. Inflation was contained, taxes were cut, the budget was going to be balanced, the economy was booming, crimes were low, the border was tight, calm and harmony prevailed. Then the imposter took over and everything went downhill really fast within a year.
