  • Obviously not much!

  • How many times have any of them used the term "Republic" versus "democracy." That oughta give the answer.

    • I agree with that statement, Jea9.

Our form of government was not intended to be a democracy.  The Founders knew that form of government does not work, very long at least. History had proven that to be the case. Interestingly, Jefferson had remarked that ' the general public was never known for making wise decisions' and events have proven that to be true.

At any rate, all governments created by man are failures in that they have this terrible habit of falling apart from within, or destroyed from without, and it looks like both will be realized by this one unless a course change is started now to avoid it.

As you well know Franklin warned that it ( our form of government) 'was a Republic, if you can keep it.'  We didn't keep it long. It soon began to smell like a democracy.

    • It's now become a stench in all of our nostrils. Rotten stench.

    • I agree, Dale. The Federalist papers say as much as well. We the people, the true American patriots, don't want democracy, we want a Republic just as it is written in the US Constitution.

    • Yes, we are a republic and each time anyone calls us a democracy they need to be corrected......and we must stop calling the democrats the Democratic Party, they aren't democratic, they are marxists. It is misleading to the general public to call them the Democratic Party.....they are simply democrats

    • Tucker has never called us a Republic. Only democracy.
