  • This could be a good thing. Speaking for only myself, I never saw racism when I grew up in the Chicago burbs. I never saw it downtown when my Mom took me to museums and festivals. I never saw or heard any racism in any burb as I ran around in my teens. I never saw racism in my two campus, 7000 student high school, Lyons Township High School. I never babysat for any racists, as  no one I knew was racist. All were essentially European immigrants, 2rd or more generation. I never heard swear words. I never heard someone cussed out.  I had Black friends, close friends. I saw NO racism until I came to University of Dayton, and then, it was a 'free or easier" ride, and it was the Blacks who hated us in the dorms. Walked into us in the hallway, and more. And my eyes were not closed either, for any of these things. I just never.....saw racism until I came to Ohio. And no one hated the 'Cops.'We didn't even call them Cops. We called them the Police.
