No... Newt is exposing his underlying political ideology... his view on governing are not conducive to the long-term stability of our Constitutional Government and the Republic... He is to pragmatic to be a good conservative... Compromising to often with enemies of our Constitution. Compromise is the mother of all evil... we must cut it out... We must not promote it.
The only people being held hostage here is the GOP Base... For decades both political parties have lied to, maneuvered, cajoled, and deceitfully manipulated the GOP Base and the public... The RINOs have been holding the conservative wing of the party hostage to LIES, false promises, arcane party rules, and a leadership that is totally out of sync with its BASE... Globalism and the fundamental transformation of the Republic are not what the GOP Base supports.
Newt needs to come to terms with the political right... they are no longer going to remain docile and silent while the nation is being invaded and looted before our eyes. Newt and the GOP leadership are waking up to find a real storm brewing in the Party... and they are running for cover... while, blaming everyone but themselves for the crisis they created.

All he did was sign executive orders? Really? You seem to forget that he passed the largest tax cut ever and that he was on the verge of balancing the budget. That's the kind of stuff you get when you have a successful and self made business in charge of the country. But that's not enough for you. You and others on this site expect him to totally drain the swamp in short four years. That's unrealistic. Give him four more years and you'll see how he takles this now, since he understands how deep the swamp runs.
