The Senate has voted against impeaching President Trump, defeating two articles of impeachment by votes of 52-48 and 53-47. Trump joins two former presidents, Andrew Johnson and scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton, in being impeached by the House of Representatives before being acquitted by the Senate.

The House failed to produce credible evidence that the president committed any “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” or engaged in any action that justified his impeachment by the House, let alone his conviction and removal from office by the Senate.

Despite Democrats’ loss in the Senate, House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Reps. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and scumbag liar-Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., are no doubt basking in the admiration of their liberal allies for their actions, and they are hoping that their attempt to damage the president in the eyes of the public will be successful in the 2020 election.

However, history is often an unforgiving critic. Historians in the future may judge them far more harshly for abusing the impeachment power in the Constitution. That provision was not intended to allow 285 members of Congress — a simple House majority and two-thirds of senators — to remove a duly elected president for partisan reasons or over matters of style, no matter what his margin of victory in the last election.

Impeachment was to be used only in the direst of circumstances to remove a president clearly guilty of such serious, substantial misconduct that he posed a danger to the nation, and who was clearly unfit to continue in office until the next election when the public could make its own choice.

House Democrats did not come even close to meeting that standard.

It seems highly likely that liar-Pelosi and company will be viewed in the same manner as historians now view the “radical Republicans” who impeached Andrew Johnson, and who came within one vote of convicting and removing him from office.

Republicans personally hated Johnson, who became president after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and they virulently disagreed with Johnson’s decision to implement Lincoln’s conciliatory policies toward the Southern states.

As Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen outline in “A Patriot’s History of the United States,” in inflammatory rhetoric reminiscent of that heard from some Democrats today, radical Republicans claimed that Johnson was a “wild-eyed dictator bent on overthrowing the government.” Schiff was just as inflammatory when he called Trump a “despot” and the type of tyrant the Founders feared, while Nadler called Trump a “dictator.”

Last time I checked the news, I didn’t see any stories about despotic activities by this president, such as a refusal to follow court orders or the abuse of federal law enforcement power to spy on and investigate political opponents. The latter is something only the prior administration did.

Liberals can certainly criticize the president for some of his policies that they may disagree with, but claiming he is a despot and a dictator is so over the top, so far from reality, that it helped destroy whatever credibility the House managers may have had at the start of the impeachment process. Their wild exaggerations made it pretty clear this was a partisan, politically driven impeachment.

Paul Johnson, in his book, “A History of the American People,” also records that during the impeachment proceedings, Johnson was subjected to “torrents of personal abuse” and other claims that Johnson characterizes as “nonsense.” Seem familiar? It should, because Trump was also subjected to “torrents of personal abuse” by House managers during the impeachment trial.

Included among the impeachment articles adopted by the House in 1868 was a charge that President Johnson had “challenged the authority” of Congress and had criticized Congress with “intemperate, inflammatory, and scandalous harangues.” Sounds an awful lot like the House’s claim in the impeachment resolution that Donald Trump “impeded” the House and engaged in “unprecedented, categorical, and indiscriminate defiance” of Congress.

Furthermore, the Johnson impeachment charged that the president had unlawfully removed Secretary of War Edwin Stanton (an ally of the radical Republicans) and replaced him with Ulysses S. Grant. Although it was not in the impeachment resolution, scumbag/liar-Schiff and his compatriots spent an enormous amount of time going after the president for firing the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch (who was appointed by President scumbag/liar-nObama), as if that was an abuse of power. This despite the fact that ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president. Once again, the parallels between the Trump and Johnson impeachments are eerie.

Historians almost universally condemn the Johnson impeachment as “rash, reckless, and unwarranted” as Schweikart and Allen explain. As Paul Johnson says, no “constructive purpose was served by this vendetta, and the only political consequence was the discrediting of those who conducted it.”

Now that the process is over, at least for now, it is hard to come to any conclusion other than that this impeachment, which Democrats started talking about doing as soon as Trump was inaugurated, was the result of personal and political “vendettas” against the president.

Given that some polls show that Trump is now more popular with the public than at any time during his presidency, Democrats may also end up suffering the “political consequences” of their abuse of the impeachment process and the “discrediting of those who conducted it.”

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf revealed  the administration’s agenda last Wednesday. Wolf explained the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was immediately suspending enrollment in Global Entry and several other Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP), including NEXUS, SENTRI, and FAST. Thousands of New Yorkers are members of these programs, because they allow people to bypass typically long Customs and Border Protection (CPB) lines.

The state’s recently enacted “Green Light Law,” which gives illegal aliens access to drivers’ licenses — but also blocks federal agencies like ICE and CPB from accessing the state’s DMV records without a court order — was the tipping point. In a letter provided to state officials, Wolf noted the law “compromises CPB’s ability to confirm whether an individual applying to TTP membership meets the program’s eligibility requirement.”

Why is that important? “In New York alone, last year ICE arrested 149 child predators, identified or rescued 105 victims of exploitation and human trafficking, arrested 230 gang members, and seized 6,487 pounds of illegal narcotics, including fentanyl and opioids,” Wolf added. “In the vast majority of these cases, ICE relied on New York DMV records to fulfill its mission.”

And that was before the law took effect in December, precipitating a surge of illegals rushing to New York DMVs to obtain their new identification, using foreign documents such as passports or a driver’s license to get it.

Not all New Yorkers were on board. Lawsuits filed by Rensselaer County Clerk Frank Merola and Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns, both of whom argued the law would put him in conflict with federal immigration law, were dismissed separately by U.S. district judges, Gary Sharpe and Elizabeth Wolford, for the same reason: Both judges deemed the clerks lacked standing to challenge the law.

New York Attorney General Letitia James was pleased  the courts dismissed “meritless claims."And last Friday she announced her intent to sue the DHS. "Despite President Trump’s attempt to punish New Yorkers for passing our own laws and standing up to his xenophobic policies, we will not back down,” she said.

Xenophobic policies? During his State of the Union Address, President Trump made it clear what sanctuary jurisdictions are really all about. “Just 29 days ago, a criminal alien freed by the sanctuary city of New York was charged with the brutal rape and murder of a 92-year-old woman,” Trump stated. “The killer had been previously arrested for assault, but under New York’s sanctuary policies, he was set free. If the city had honored ICE’s detainer request, his victim would be alive today.”

CNN’s Van Jones, who was once the scumbag/liar-nObama administration’s “green jobs” czar until he was forced to resign due in large part to his association with the 9/11 conspiracy truthers, provided the typically progressive response to such inconvenient realities. After asserting that Trump is “managing” racial issues as a “tradeoff between the Latinos and the African Americans,” Jones insisted, “Sanctuary cities are safer than non-sanctuary cities. The Cato Institute, which is libertarian, has come out and said immigrants are committing less crime.” He added, “So, for some reason he thinks that doubling down on the anti-immigrant piece is a big part of this thing.”

Remarkably, no one ever challenges the utter bankruptcy of such an absurd contention. If the Rule of Law were upheld, crimes committed by illegals would be almost  wholly avoidable. Thus, it would be truly enlightening to know what Jones and other sanctuary supporters consider a “reasonable” level of murders, rapes, robberies, etc., Americans must endure, not just for accommodating illegal immigration, but seeing it incentivized by “woke” politicians.

Trump addressed that reality as well. “No issue better illustrates the divide between America’s working class and America’s political class than illegal immigration,” he stated. “Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls, gates, and guards. Meanwhile, working-class Americans are left to pay the price for mass illegal immigration.”

One political-class member, Richard Azzopardi, a senior adviser to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was annoyed  by the crackdown. “This is obviously political retaliation by the federal government and we’re going to review our legal options,” he said. Cuomo echoed those sentiments, calling the crackdown “pure politics.” He also asserted the federal government is “anti-immigrant.”

Nothing is more political — or more dishonest — than the ongoing and highly orchestrated effort by progressives to conflate illegal and legal immigration, as if the difference between the two is somehow irrelevant.

It is not, and the Trump administration is making that crystal clear. Moreover, Ken Cuccinelli, the senior official performing the duties of acting secretary at the DHS  reminded Americans what Cuomo and his illegal-immigration-supporting allies have either forgotten or don’t care about: “[A] majority of 9/11 terrorists used Virginia driver’s licenses to help accomplish their evil mission,” Cuccinelli stated. Moreover, unlike Virginia, which addressed the problem, Cuccinelli added that New York is “walking backwards, quite intentionally, in the other direction to bar the sharing of law-enforcement-relevant information like vehicle registration, matching driver’s licenses to identifications, and, critically, criminal records which are kept up to date, and DMV databases.”

Access to records is only part of the equation. The Real ID Act of 2005 requires states to establish an applicant’s date of birth, Social Security number, proof of residence, and citizenship or lawful status to obtain a driver’s license compliant with that law. It also empowers the DHS secretary to define “official purposes” for which those licenses can be used, including the boarding of commercially operated airline flights, or entering federal buildings and nuclear power plants.

Nonetheless, The Washington Post reveals the administration’s efforts are rather modest: “A DHS official with knowledge of the deliberations said the department does not plan to take immediate steps against other states and cities.”

Really? Why not? Fifteen states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico offer driver’s licenses to illegals, and it’s well past time to have the courts decide if this practice — asserted to be a states rights’ issue — is really another effort to nullify federal immigration law.

Furthermore, this administration should explore every  option available to undermine sanctuary policies — including demands that Congress enact laws making officials who harbor illegals subject to civil and criminal liabilities when those illegals commit crimes that harm American citizens.

Hopefully, making it inconvenient to travel is the first in a series of initiatives that would ultimately make sanctuary jurisdictions politically untenable.

Americans have abided de facto anarchy long enough.

But, as recently as December 2017, McConnell was under significant fire from within the Republican Party grassroots for, at the time, his role in fueling the fiery and failed special Alabama Senate primary race. Many grassroots conservatives blamed McConnell for the fact that a key Senate seat is now held by Doug Jones, a lone Democrat senator from the South. Many also called the Senate majority leader an albatross around the necks of the conservative cause — as liar-Nancy Pelosi is to Democrats. The list of grievances included failure to deal with illegal immigration, failure to halt Planned Parenthood funding, and failure to repeal or replace scumbag/liar-nObamaCare.

Put simply, Mitch McConnell was not exactly hailed by grassroots Republicans.

That was until the unexpected death of Antonin Scalia in February 2016.

A month after Scalia’s passing, President Barack scumbag/liar-nObama nominated Merrick Garland. McConnell cited his former colleague Joe Biden’s own words in shelving the Democrat nomination by declaring no vacancy on the Supreme Court would be filled in the year of a presidential election. The “loose lips liar-Biden Rule” originated in June 1992, when the then-Senate Judiciary Committee chairman argued that, should a vacancy occur when President George H.W. Bush was running against Democrat scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton, the deliberating body would “seriously consider not scheduling confirmation hearings on the nomination until after the political campaign season is over.”

McConnell’s move was a huge gamble, because nobody seriously thought Donald Trump would defeat scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. But, as it turns out, McConnell ensured that Garland’s nomination never received a Senate hearing, and he provided voters with a big reason to vote Trump. Once Trump took office, he and McConnell delivered, nominating and confirming Neil Gorsuch.

DC theatrics were in full swing when Trump made his nomination to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy with Brett Kavanaugh. Unlike the Gorsuch nomination, Kavanaugh’s nomination came ahead of a midterm election and shifted the ideological balance of the Court. But McConnell’s steady leadership came into focus as America watched over 48 hours of questioning and hysteria that ultimately solidified the Supreme Court with an originalist interpretation of the Rule of Law. While most will remember the Democrats’ shameful display that displaced anything resembling civility during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, don’t overlook the importance of an earlier stance McConnell took that made this appointment as valuable.

These two Supreme Court justices are the shiny trophies promised by presidential candidate Trump. But, since his first day in office, President Trump has filled over 20% of the circuit-court seats in the country. His 34th circuit judge is being confirmed with three more in the queue for floor action. Compare this record to his predecessor, who appointed 55 circuit judges in eight years. Trump currently still has 128 District Court vacancies to fill.

Needless to say, the impact on the judiciary is already immense, with the guarantee of this campaign promise returning to the presidential trail in 2020. Yet this would not be possible without the Senate and the leadership of Majority Leader McConnell.

McConnell has embraced his role, recently declaring, “You’ll be pleased to know that my motto for the remainder of this Congress is leave no vacancy behind.” He’s doing the work to confirm women and men who are relatively young and intellectually skilled, many with experience as Supreme Court clerks. And their approach to the bench is “to follow the law and the Constitution.”

Yes, President Donald Trump will be credited with his role in placing conservative constitutionalists throughout our nation’s courts. But the ruthless brilliance and powerful maneuvering by Kentucky’s senior senator will forever earn him many accolades for being one of America’s most consequential leaders impacting conservative policy and law.

That’s quite an admission and an about-face from Wray’s comments last December when, in an interview with ABC News, he sought to downplay the seriousness of the IG report. “I think it’s important for the American people to know that when the FBI opens an investigation it does so with proper predication, with proper authorization, based on the facts and nothing else,” Wray stated then. “I think it’s important that the inspector general found that in this particular instance the investigation was opened with appropriate predication and authorization.” Now he’s acknowledging that the FISA application for surveilling Page was illegal. This will certainly help Page in his lawsuit against the Justice Department and FBI.

Once again, it appears that Trump has been proven correct. He blasted Wray’s characterization of the IG report, asserting, “I don’t know what report current Director of the FBI Christopher Wray was reading, but it sure wasn’t the one given to me. With that kind of attitude, he will never be able to fix the FBI, which is badly broken despite having some of the greatest men & women working there!”

While the wheels of justice may turn slowly, the good news is that they are still turning.   ~The Patriot Post

Pointing to the lower-than-expected voter enthusiasm in Iowa, Carville observed, “Look, the turnout in the Iowa caucus was below what we expected [and] what we wanted. Trump’s approval rating is probably as high as it’s been. This is very bad. And now it appears the party can’t even count votes. What the hell am I supposed to think? … And now it’s like we’re losing our [darn] minds. Someone’s got to step their game up here.”

Democrats have gone to the extreme left, Carville charges, and by doing so they are turning off vast swaths of the country. “We have candidates on the debate stage talking about open borders and decriminalizing illegal immigration. They’re talking about doing away with nuclear energy and fracking. You’ve got commie-Bernie Sanders talking about letting criminals and terrorists vote from jail cells. It doesn’t matter what you think about any of that, or if there are good arguments — talking about that is not how you win a national election. It’s not how you become a majoritarian party. … They’ve tacked off the [darn] radar screen.”

Carville also blasted Democrats over their “free college” platform, arguing, “Here’s another stupid thing: Democrats talking about free college tuition or debt forgiveness. I’m not here to debate the idea. What I can tell you is that people all over this country worked their way through school, sent their kids to school, paid off student loans. They don’t want to hear this s—. And you saw [Elizabeth] Warren confronted by an angry voter over this. It’s just not a winning message.”

The Democrats’ elitist and self-righteous attitude is not a formula for winning, Carville notes, as he laments that this “smugness” and “patronizing” would only lead to further Democrat losses. “We can’t win the Senate by looking down at people. The Democrat Party has to drive a narrative that doesn’t give off vapors that we’re smarter than everyone or culturally arrogant.”

Carville’s interview was published last Friday, hours before the Democrat presidential candidates took the stage for their eighth debate. That debate made abundantly clear that Carville’s assessment was spot on. The Democrat candidates are simply uninterested or unable to concern themselves with any views outside of their narrow leftist ideology. As PowerLine’s Steven Hayward insightfully observed, “I watched the Democratic field show once again that it is running to be president of Twitter more than President of the United States.”

For example, not one of the candidates on the stage Friday night would have given the go-ahead, like Trump did, to take out Iran’s leading terrorist, Qasem Soleimani. commie-Bernie Sanders strangely argued, “You cannot go around saying, ‘You’re a bad guy. We’re gonna assassinate you.’ And then you’re gonna have, if that happens, you’re opening the door to international anarchy.” Pete Buttigieg ridiculously asserted that “taking out a bad guy is a bad idea if you do not know what you’re doing.” loose lips liar-Joe Biden suggested (without evidence) that “there’s no evidence yet of an imminent threat that was going to come from [Soleimani].” Never mind the fact that he had the blood of thousands of Americans already on his hands.

Regarding socialism, only one candidate on stage — Amy Klobuchar — raised her hand in rejection of the failed ideology. On the question of racism, every candidate brandished their “woke” talking points, deriding America as a racist country founded on racism. commie-Sanders took the cake: “We have a racist society from top to bottom, impacting healthcare, housing, criminal justice, education — you name it. And clearly this is an issue that must be dealt with.”

Finally, one of the moments that most highlights the current divide between Democrats and Republicans was loose lips liar-Biden’s chastising Trump for awarding Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom. “By the way, Colonel Vindman got thrown out of the White House today,” loose lips liar-Biden lamented. “[The president] should have been pinning a medal on Vindman, and not on Rush Limbaugh. I think we should all stand and get Colonel Vindman a show of how much we support him. Stand up and clap for Vindman!” loose lips liar-Biden demanded.

These Democrats are so out of touch with much of America that they don’t seem to realize the majority of their attacks against Trump are in fact attacks against Americans. These Democrats do indeed appear to be losing their minds.   ~The Patriot Post

Yesterday, President Trump and Vice President Pence addressed the 68th annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. Every president since Dwight Eisenhower has spoken at this annual bipartisan event. But this year was different, coming on the heels of the bitter sham impeachment.

As he always does, Mike Pence spoke eloquently about the country’s respect for faith. He said, “I believe that prayer and faith are the thread that runs through every era of American history." 

Pence noted that President Trump "has made it a practice of opening every Cabinet meeting in prayer.” And he repeated the president’s remarks from Tuesday’s State of the Union address that America does “not punish prayer, tear down crosses, or muzzle our pastors.”

The president’s speech was also excellent. He recalled America’s deep religious heritage and our founding principle that our liberty comes from God, not government. 

President Trump recalled the faith of George Washington and the courageous patriots at Valley Forge, how the families of New York built St. Patrick’s Cathedral long before the city’s first iconic skyscrapers, and how America’s civil-rights movement was sustained by men and women of faith.

Trump added that America is “eternally in the debt of our African American churches… For generations, they bravely fought for justice and lifted up the conscience of our nation. And we are grateful beyond any measure." 

The president also noted that his administration has dramatically increased efforts to combat Christian persecution overseas. As a presidential appointee to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, I can attest to the administration’s commitment to this critical issue.

Wednesday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the formation of the International Religious Freedom Alliance. More than two dozen nations have already pledged to join the United States in this effort to defend religious freedom worldwide.

The president once again condemned the "poison of anti-Semitism” and reiterated his strong commitment to the sanctity of life, saying, “Every child is a sacred gift from God.”

Two lines in the president’s remarks, however, have attracted most of the media’s attention, and I believe the president felt compelled to say them. 

There were a number of people he could have been referring to, but liar-Nancy Pelosi stands out for the almost mocking way she repeatedly said she was “praying for the president” as she tried to destroy him and his family. 

Trump said, “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong. Nor do I like people who say ‘I pray for you’ when they know that’s not so.”

“Trump Acquitted”

A victorious President Trump spoke to the nation yesterday, celebrating the end of the sham impeachment trial. The president slammed the left for dragging the country through pointless partisan investigations for the past three years.

“It was evil. It was corrupt. It was dirty cops,” Trump said. “It was leakers and liars. This should never, ever happen to another president, ever." 

He held up a copy of yesterday's Washington Post with its bold headline, "Trump Acquitted," and jokingly said, "Maybe we’ll frame it. It’s the only good headline I’ve ever had in The Washington Post.”

By the way, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) is introducing a constitutional amendment to require a super-majority vote in the House to impeach a president, rather than just a simple majority. The point of Scott’s amendment is to ensure true bipartisan support for impeachment, which was liar-Nancy Pelosi’s own standard.

And I’m pleased to report that following the conclusion of the impeachment trial, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell immediately moved to begin confirming more of President Trump’s conservative judges!

Depressed Democrats

Democrats are in the dumps. But you don’t have to take my word for it. A top House Democrat source told Fox News Wednesday, "We all knew how this was going. But everyone’s depressed.“

The long knives are out too, as the recriminations and finger-pointing begin. Referring specifically to the impeachment fiasco, another Democrat source said that the leadership was "steamrolled by the progressive wing of the party." 

I’m with the president on this — I can’t feel sorry for liar-Nancy Pelosi and Chuck scumbag-Schumer, not after what they just put the country through. They should have had the courage to stand up to commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s mean tweets, especially after Special Counsel Robert Mueller found nothing. But they caved to the pressure and the country suffered needlessly.

And many Democrats are furious. For example:

• Don Peebles, a top scumbag/liar-nObama fundraiser, said yesterday, "Look, I just don’t recognize the Democratic Party right now. I mean, the party has turned so far-left." He blasted liar-Pelosi’s speech-ripping stunt as "unprofessional,” “undiplomatic,” and “disrespectful to the country as a whole.” (More on that below.)

• Famed scumbag/liar-Clinton strategist James Carville said this week that he’s “scared to death” that his party is going down the path of the British Labour Party, which just got trounced for its radicalism and anti-Semitism. Carville worried that commie-Bernie Sanders and The Squad were turning the Democrat Party into an “ideological cult,” pushing extreme issues like open borders and “people voting from jail cells.” He’s not wrong.

• Progressive activist and commentator Van Jones said that Trump is making a serious play for black support and that he has an effective message that his policies have helped historically black colleges and black workers.

liar-Pelosi’s Planned Stunt

Yesterday, I wrote about Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi tearing up the president’s State of the Union address immediately following his remarks. Of course, her progressive allies and the left-wing media loved it. Politico ran this headline: “liar-Pelosi Gave Democrats’ Real Response To The State Of The Union.”

But it seems she planned this stunt. Video has emerged that appears to show liar-Pelosi pre-ripping a few pages of the president’s speech while the first lady is presenting Rush Limbaugh with the Medal of Freedom. 

liar-Pelosi knew exactly what she was doing. As CNN's Brian Stelter put it, her stunt was “aggressively rude, and unapologetically meant to rile up her base. It was divisive, but effective.” Stelter wrote that liar-Pelosi did it to take attention away from Trump’s speech.

Speaking of which, a poll conducted by CBS News found that the president’s address was a home run. Seventy-six percent of those who watched the State of the Union liked what they heard, including 82% of independents and even 30% of self-identified Democrats. Here are other key findings:

• 56% felt the president’s speech would help unite the country.

• 74% supported the president’s statements on the Middle East.

• 72% supported the president’s positions on immigration.

• 71% agreed with President Trump’s view that there is a crisis on the southern border.

By the way, several House Republicans filed a resolution disapproving of liar-Pelosi’s actions. They wanted to hold liar-Pelosi to the same standard as Joe Wilson, who was formally reprimanded for his State of the Union outburst. But House Democrats voted it down.

The Chaos Continues

More results trickled out from the Iowa Democrat caucuses. With 97% of the votes counted, the results show Pete Buttigieg and commie-Bernie Sanders virtually tied. Sensing momentum, commie-Sanders declared victory. So now we have two self-declared winners.

Speaking in New Hampshire Wednesday, loose lips liar-Joe Biden said he couldn’t “sugar coat” his fourth-place showing, calling it “a gut punch.”

Meanwhile, Tom Perez, chairman of the Democrat National Committee, yesterday ordered a complete recanvassing of the Iowa results. Perez declared:

Enough is enough. In light of the problems that have emerged … and in order to assure public confidence in the results, I am calling on the Iowa Democrat Party to immediately begin a recanvass.

As is often the case with Trump, decorum and etiquette fail to restrain him from expressing his thoughts and feelings. This aspect of Trump’s personality can be both refreshing and grating at the same time. It produces easy fodder for his critics to attack him while also endearing him to supporters who relate to his message, and yesterday was a prime example.

At the prayer breakfast, an event intended as an apolitical occasion where members from both parties come together, Trump, after some brief introductory remarks, began to open up. “As everybody knows, my family, our great country, and your president have been put through a terrible ordeal by some very dishonest and corrupt people,” he said. “They have done everything possible to destroy us and, by so doing, very badly hurt our nation. They know what they are doing is wrong, but they put themselves far ahead of our great country.”

Trump also alluded to both Sen. rino-Mitt Romney and Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi in his criticism, stating, “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong. Nor do I like people who say ‘I pray for you’ when they know that is not so.”

However, near the end of his comments, Trump struck a slightly more conciliatory tone: “To the people in this room, for the love that they show, not on religion but many religions: They’re brave, they’re brilliant, they’re fighters. They like people, and sometimes they hate people. I’m sorry. I apologize. I’m trying to learn. It’s not easy. When they impeach you for nothing, then you’re supposed to like them? It’s not easy, folks. I do my best.”

During his remarks at the White House, Trump laid the blame for both impeachment and Robert Mueller’s probe at the feet of the anti-Trump deep state and Democrat resistance. “We’ve been going through this now for over three years,” he noted. “It was evil, it was corrupt, it was dirty cops. It was leakers and liars, and it should never ever happen to another president ever.” Trump specifically highlighted the actions of former FBI Director scumbag-James Comey: “It was a disgrace. Had I not fired scumbag-James Comey — who was a disaster, by the way — it’s possible I wouldn’t even be standing here right now. We caught them in the act — dirty cops, bad people. If this happened to President scumbag/liar-nObama, a lot of people would’ve been in jail for a long time already — many, many years.”

On February 1, the Des Moines Register informed its readers why it decided not to release the final installment of the CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll, indicating where the Democrat presidential candidates stood heading into Monday’s first-in-the-nation primary (caucus) vote. According to the paper, “A candidate’s name was omitted in at least one interview in which the respondent was asked to name their preferred candidate.” And despite the fact that it appeared to be a single instance, the paper decided not to publish the same poll it has conducted and published for 76 years “out of an abundance of caution.”

Perhaps. Or perhaps, as a tweet by reporter/conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich indicated, commie-Bernie Sanders finished first and loose lips liar-Joe Biden finished last. For the less conspiratorial, political analysis website FiveThirtyEight’s final poll on February 3 had loose lips liar-Biden in second place, but commie-Sanders still maintained the top spot.

After Monday night, none of it was supposed to matter because the Iowa caucuses would remove all doubt as to which candidate the voters preferred.

Except that they didn’t. Although denied by party officials, a disastrous new smartphone app created for caucus organizers by Shadow, a tech firm run by veterans of scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, failed to properly tally the votes. The chaos continued into  Wednesday evening. While results remained officially unfinished, three things became clear: loose lips liar-Biden’s media-anointed status as the frontrunner is a sham, commie-Sanders remains a potent force, and a Democrat Party that wants to run the country is composed of embarrassing incompetents bedazzled by dubious technology.

Regardless, that’s two coincidences. Yet for commie-Sanders supporters, two other developments also seemed destined to undercut their candidate. One is the reality that the DNC has changed the debate rules — candidates no longer need to meet a minimum number of donations to appear on the debate stage in Nevada on February 19. This paves the way for the appearance of billionaire Mike Bloomberg, who is not soliciting any campaign donations. Again, it is undoubtedly sheer coincidence that Bloomberg is the only Democrat candidate who has personally donated money to the DNC, to the tune of $300,000.

Two, commie-Sanders supporters believe House Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi’s delay in sending articles of impeachment to the Senate was designed to keep commie-Sanders off the campaign trail, while loose lips liar-Biden remained unimpeded by the subsequent trial. This particular manipulation was seen as a reprise of the DNC’s effort to undermine commie-Sanders in favor of scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Democrats are facing a “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” conundrum. If commie-Sanders wins the nomination, the man who honeymooned in the Soviet Union, praised Fidel Castro’s revolution in Cuba and the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua, and advocates for free college, free healthcare (even for illegal aliens), a moratorium on deportations, and just about every other big-government, redistributionist, national-debt-exploding scheme imaginable would likely get crushed in the general election.

On the other hand, if commie-Bernie loses the nomination and his supporters believe it’s due to DNC malfeasance or subterfuge, they will likely stay home, or possibly vote third party, also enabling Trump to prevail.

A brokered convention? According to Politico, a handful of Democrat insiders have “discussed the possibility of a policy reversal to ensure that so-called superdelegates can vote on the first ballot at the party’s national convention.” This is viewed as a way to “potentially weaken commie-Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign and head off a brokered convention.”

In 2016, superdelegates were allowed to vote on the first ballot, and they overwhelmingly sided with scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton. The rule was changed to placate the party’s increasingly leftist members, who viewed it as an integral part of the effort to sandbag commie-Sanders. His supporters would undoubtedly be enraged by any reversal of the reversal.

Yet if a brokered convention occurs and a possibly front-running Sanders is still sandbagged by party insiders? At the 1968 Democrat Convention, there was rioting in the streets outside the International Amphitheatre in Chicago. This time there might be rioting on the convention floor itself at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, especially when one considers some of the revealed comments made by a commie-Sanders campaign operative. “If commie-Bernie doesn’t get the nomination or if it goes to a second round at the DNC convention, f—ing Milwaukee will burn,” said campaign staffer Kyle Jurek. “It’ll start in Milwaukee. And when the police push back on that, other cities will just explode.”

As for commie-Sanders himself, The Washington Post  reports that, if elected, he would issue a series of executive orders “he could unilaterally enact.” They include a halt of border-wall construction, a reversal of Trump’s immigration policy, the reinstatement of the scumbag/liar-nObama administration policy granting legal status to illegal aliens, declaring climate change a national emergency (and thus halting the exportation of oil), and the cancellation of federal contracts for businesses paying workers less than $15 an hour.

For Democrats who don’t “feel the Bern,” such policies are untenable. “Democratic donors and party insiders are warning that large swaths of their voters could stay home — or even defect to Trump — if Vermont Sen. commie-Bernie Sanders snags the nomination,” the New York Post reports. Michael Kempner, a longtime Democrat donor who has given money to loose lips liar-Biden and Pete Buttigieg, sees the proverbial writing on the wall. “For Democrats to win,” he warns, “the election must be a referendum on Trump and not a debate about socialism.”

By contrast, columnist Roger L. Simon believes that debate is exactly what America needs. “This wouldn’t be a so-called ‘uni-party’ election resulting in minor differences in the tax code, as it usually does,” he explains. “Trump versus Sanders would be capitalism versus socialism!”

Undoubtedly. Moreover, there is a searing irony attached to this ongoing debacle: A Democrat Party that has long cultivated an increasingly radical-leftist, power-consolidating agenda now has a genuinely radical-leftist candidate with the backing of equally radical supporters — but the party establishment is terrified.

Why? Because unlike other Democrats, commie-Sanders has upended the party tradition of obscuring its radicalism until after the election. In short, commie-Sanders won’t make phony centrist appeals that conflict with his agenda just to win votes. He is, as they say, “all in.”

The Democrat establishment? It will go all out to stop him. “Hell hath no fury like commie-Bernie’s millennials if they are thwarted,” warns columnist Miranda Devine.

Thwarted? Betrayed is the far more likely scenario. And it won’t be even slightly coincidental.   ~The Patriot Post

At approximately 2218 hours on Tuesday, 04 February 2020, I witnessed clear and indisputable evidence of Rep. liar-Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), liar-Speaker of the House, committing an act that I believe brazenly and feloniously violates federal law, specifically 18 U.S.C. 2071. In fact, her actions were witnessed by federal law-enforcement officials and she may have colluded with members of her political caucus who were also witness to this act, in premeditation for the commission of this offense. Please see this video evidence in support of this complaint that Rep. liar-Pelosi violated 18 U.S.C. 2071 and the Presidential Records Act of 1978.

For background:

President Donald Trump clearly outlined, prior to liar-Pelosi’s criminal actions, that the State of the Union is strong. The success of this administration deeply concerns Rep. liar-Pelosi and her U.S. Senate counterpart, Charles scumbag-Schumer (D-NY), leaders of the Democrat Party, because the success of the Trump administration on behalf of the American people threatens the liar-Pelosi/scumbag-Schumer political dynasty.

As evidence of her malicious intent, Rep. liar-Pelosi bookended the President’s speech with insults, deliberately omitting the traditional words of introduction, “Members of Congress, I have the high privilege and distinct honor of presenting to you the President of the United States,” and opting instead to state, “Members of Congress, the President of the United States.”

Once at the podium, President Trump personally delivered to Rep. liar-Pelosi the official signed State of the Union transcript as prepared for the Congress.

During the President’s remarks, Rep. liar-Pelosi scored cuts in the official transcript of the State of the Union, demonstrating premeditation in preparation for destroying it at the conclusion of the speech. After the President completed his remarks, Rep. liar-Pelosi committed an act that starkly demonstrated her cadre’s hatred of Mr. Trump and his grassroots American supporters, whom these partisans loathe.

Rep. liar-Pelosi took the official State of the Union transcript and, page-by-page, willfully mutilated and destroyed that document. Rep. liar-Pelosi maliciously obliterated what she called the “dirty” speech, later confessing: “I tore it up. I was trying to find one page with truth on it. I couldn’t.” Notably, Rep. liar-Pelosi also shredded the names of the great Americans listed on those pages, living and deceased, and the names of Americans in the gallery. In doing so, she libelously denigrated each of them personally by suggesting there was no truth to their life stories.

The actions of Rep. liar-Pelosi constitute a violation of 18 U.S.C. 2071, actions that were premeditated in collusion with co-conspirators within her caucus. The signed official State of the Union Address that Rep. liar-Pelosi destroyed was property of the United States of America. Rep. liar-Pelosi had no records-disposition order providing her with the specific authority to destroy that official government record.

Further, the White House media director confirmed, “The speech she ripped up was a one-of-a-kind record, signed by POTUS… It belonged to the American people, not to liar-Pelosi.” That assessment was affirmed by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). Thus, this official signed transcript of the State of the Union speech falls under the Presidential Records Act of 1978.

According to 18 U.S.C. 2071: “Whoever, having the custody of any such record … willfully and unlawfully … mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his or her office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”

Concurring with this assessment that Rep. liar-Pelosi violated 18 U.S.C. 2071, House Judiciary Committee member Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has filed an official complaint with the House Committee on Ethics, noting: “There is no question that Speaker liar-Pelosi ‘mutilated, obliterated, or destroyed’ the copy of the President’s address provided to her. The law does not allow the liar-Speaker of the House to destroy the records of the House…”

I respectfully request a prompt reply from the Department of Justice concerning this criminal complaint and the legality of Rep. liar-Pelosi’s actions, as well as of those who had prior knowledge of this criminal act.   ~The Patriot Post

Romney has served his country, including saving the 2002 Winter Olympics while working for free and serving a term as governor of Massachusetts, also forgoing his salary. He twice ran for president, which takes an enormous commitment of time and energy that, in Romney’s case at least, indicates a deep love for the country and a desire to make it better. The same can be said for Trump’s decision to run for the office. Had Romney won in 2008 or 2012, our nation would have been spared all or some of the woeful Barack scumbag/liar-nObama years.

As we noted in 2016, rino-Romney was right about Trump’s numerous flaws. (If President Trump’s personal life had been closer to rino-Romney’s, the GOP would potentially be in a much better position in the suburbs.) And rino-Romney has been correct about our departure from the principles of the Founders.

That said, despite grasping the problem, rino-Romney is a deeply flawed messenger who is unable to bring himself to do what needs to be done in order to get back to those principles — partly because he has been on both sides of every important issue. Trump, character flaws and his own flip-flopping notwithstanding, has been willing to fight the Left.

Arguably, rino-Romney’s “good guy” persona has rendered him unable to deal with the realities we currently face. In 2012, he was viciously attacked as a tax cheat by Harry dinky-Reid and accused of wanting to put African Americans back in chains by loose lips liar-Joe Biden. Had a fraction of the fire and energy rino-Romney aims at Trump been directed at dinky-Reid and loose lips liar-Biden in the 2012 election, rino-Romney would have won and rendered Trump unnecessary. Instead, he’s relegated to throwing barbs at Trump from the Senate, even if he does support the president’s agenda 80% of the time (more than several other Republicans).

While turning the other cheek may be good for the soul, in politics, it is unilateral disarmament.

rino-Romney’s vote to convict burned a lot of bridges and, in 2024, he will have to face the voters of Utah, who will render their verdict. He may well end up a one-term senator when he could have been a good president. That is the real tragedy.   ~The Patriot Post

Trump celebrated his acquittal and promised to further respond to “our Country’s VICTORY on the Impeachment Hoax!” by noon Thursday. It certainly is a big win for the president, for the Republican Party, and for the country. Once again, the wisdom of our Framers was poignantly displayed, as the Democrats’ politically motived gambit failed precisely because impeachment was never designed or intended to be used as a political tool by the opposing party to oust a duly elected president over purely partisan sentiments. As The Wall Street Journal notes, “Chalk up one more victory for the Framers of the Constitution, who realized the dangers of political factions and created the Senate to check them.”

Speaker liar-Nancy Pelosi’s petulant action of tearing up her copy of Trump’s State of the Union Address perfectly matched the grossly partisan nature of the Democrats’ impeachment charade. Thus, in response to her declaration that Trump is “impeached for life,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy shared a video of himself declaring Trump “Acquitted for life” as he tears up a copy of the articles of impeachment.

Getting back to the vote, what may have come as a minor surprise was the fact that Joe Manchin (WV) and Doug Jones (AL), Democrat senators representing solidly pro-Trump states, voted to convict Trump. Then again, it’s really not surprising at all. In Jones’s case, his chance for winning reelection in 2020 in deep-red Alabama is so slim that no matter how he voted he’s unlikely to win — so why break with his party? He might as well be a loyal sailor and go down with the ship.

In Manchin’s case, the calculation was that of pragmatism. He’s not up for reelection until 2024, so that was hardly a pressing concern. The bigger factor was his standing within the party and the reality that if the Democrats win control of the Senate in November he doesn’t want to be on the wrong side of Chuck scumbag-Schumer for failing to hold the party line. In all likelihood, scumbag-Schumer also engaged in a little quid pro quo with Manchin to ensure his vote to convict. As we have previously noted, the Democrats’ primary aim with their impeachment gambit was not the removal of Trump but winning control of the Senate. scumbag-Schumer’s oft-repeated talking point is that Senate Republicans held an unfair impeachment trial. For that to have any appearance of credibility, he couldn’t have any Democrat defectors.

Finally, immediately following the Senate’s acquittal vote, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell got back to business by filing cloture on several judges. He continues the  unrelentingly effort to act on Trump’s agenda to fill the nation’s federal courts with solid constitutionally committed judges.

Alluding to the Steele dossier, the lawsuit states the defendants “used false information, misrepresentations and other misconduct to direct the power of the international intelligence apparatus and the media industry against [Page] to further their political agenda.” The suit further alleges, “Defendants leveraged these fabrications within the FBI and the United States Department of Justice, leading these agencies to present false applications to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (‘FISC’).” Yep, that all sounds about right.

Page’s attorneys stated that this initial suit is merely “the first of multiple actions in the wake of historic” Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuse and that it “is a first step to ensure that the full extent of the FISA abuse that has occurred during the last few years is exposed and remedied.” Page attorney John Pierce further explained, “Defendants and those they worked with inside the federal government did not and will not succeed in making America a surveillance state.” Pierce added, “This is only the first salvo. We will follow the evidence wherever it leads, no matter how high.”

Setting aside for a moment the question of whether Page has a hope-in-hell chance of succeeding in court against those infesting the very core of the deep state, we applaud this valiant attempt nonetheless. That said, the battle will most certainly be uphill. For instance, we recently reported about the appointment of former Obama-era Justice Department official David Kris to “clean up” these matters, by the FISC’s new presiding judge, James Boasberg. The Reader’s Digest version of that report: Kris is a feckless shill. As House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) summarized: “The FBI lied to the FISC, and to help make sure that doesn’t happen again, the FISC chose an FBI apologist who denied and defended those lies. The FISC is setting its own credibility on fire.”

To think this kind of thing is a fluke or happens rarely is to completely misapprehend the magnitude of the deep-state problem and threat. A more accurate picture derives from contemplating the chilling prospect that, but for Donald Trump’s wrench-in-the-gears upset of presidential-heir-apparent scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s enthronement, the most sophisticated intelligence and state law-enforcement agencies on the planet would still be arrayed against any and all enemies of the deep state. As it stands, although progress has been made, the war against the deep state is far from over and the winner — republican government or the deep state — has yet to be determined. And make no mistake: At-risk sleazy shadow-lurkers will pull out all the stops to ensure the truths behind their motives and acts never see the light of day in a court proceeding.

A bellwether in determining which side has the upper hand in this battle thus far is to observe whether Page’s suit reaches the “discovery” stage of proceedings, because it is this stage in which both sides are compelled to disclose a great deal of information in preparation for the trial. “Discoverable” information could include, for example, emails evidencing the DNC’s intent and acts regarding the Steele dossier, as well as a host of communications between the entities coordinating the conspiracy against Page and other targeted parties. In other words, the discovery stage is a powder keg waiting on a spark. Whether the keg’s fuse is lit or water is thrown on it will ultimately be determined by the relative strengths of the sides in this battle. Carville isn’t the only high-profile Democrat sounding the alarm. David Axelrod, former senior advisor to Barack scumbag/liar-nObama, bemoaned, “However bad the handling the count has been, the Iowa’s Democratic Party’s handling of the messaging around it has been an abject disaster. It should be taught in classrooms as an example of what not to do in a crisis.”

Then there’s the growing specter of election malfeasance, which will only further complicate the DNC’s future efforts of getting its base to coalesce around the party’s eventual nominee, let alone gin up voter enthusiasm.

Speaking of coalescing, the divide within the party between hard-left socialists and non-socialists has Carville even more concerned. “I mean, I’m 75 years old. Why am I here doing this? Because I am scared to death, that’s why,” he complained. It’s more than an image problem, Carville argues. “All the Sanders people were taking pictures wishing Jeremy Corbyn the best. … The press corps went AOC crazy. … We got to decide what we want to be. Do we want to be an ideological cult or do we want to have a majoritarian instinct to be a majority party? … The urban core is not going to get it done. What we need is power. You understand? That’s what this is about. Without power, you have nothing. You just have talking points.”

Back to Iowa, loose lips liar-Joe Biden may be in real trouble. It appears that he will have mustered only a fourth-place finish and is likely to see a repeat of that in New Hampshire. The clear frontrunners are now commie-Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg, though both candidates have significant issues garnering broad appeal. While commie-Sanders, with his pie-in-the-sky socialism, appeals to college youth, he struggles in attracting the 40-plus crowd (the segment that proves most faithful in voting). Buttigieg’s homosexual-minority status appeals to women, yet he glaringly lacks support among racial minorities. This may explain why Michael Bloomberg is now doubling his ad spending — he sees an opening to exploit.

Final observation: It looks like the Democrats’ impeachment gambit is blowing up in their faces. Thus far, impeachment has only succeeded in damaging loose lips liar-Biden and bolstering President Donald Trump. The latest Gallup poll has him at 49% — his highest approval rating since he took office. And it’s not just Trump who’s up; the Republican Party as a whole has seen its favorability rating rise to 51% from 43% in September. Meanwhile, just 45% of Americans have a favorable view of Democrats, which is down from 48% in September. With numbers like this it’s little wonder that Carville is “scared to death.”   ~The Patriot Post

Endless Impeachment?

After the Senate voted Friday afternoon to reject Democrat demands for additional witnesses, Sen. Chuck scumbag-Schumer and his progressive gang forced Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to drag out the impeachment debate so that a final vote won’t happen until Wednesday. 

The reason was obvious: Democrats wanted to force President Trump to deliver his State of the Union address with the cloud of impeachment still hanging over his head. 

I think Leader McConnell has handled the impeachment process about as well as he could have, and I doubt there was much more he could have done to stop scumbag-Schumer from delaying the final vote on the articles of impeachment. 

Yesterday, senators heard four hours of closing arguments from the House managers and the president’s defense lawyers. Now senators will begin delivering speeches explaining their positions, followed by final votes on the articles of impeachment late Wednesday afternoon. 

My prediction is that every Republican senator and as many as three Democrats will end up voting against impeachment. But as I wrote in Friday’s report, this won’t be the end of it. House progressives are vowing to press ahead with even more investigations of President Trump. 

By the way, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) warned that loose lips liar-Joe Biden, if he prevails this November, could be “immediately impeached” given the low bar set by House Democrats. 

Politics and the Super Bowl

Former New York City mayor and billionaire political activist Michael Bloomberg ran an ad during Sunday’s Super Bowl game highlighting his desire to limit Second Amendment rights. It’s worth noting that Bloomberg paid at least $10 million for that ad. That speaks volumes about Michael Bloomberg’s priorities!

But the ad was terribly deceptive. It featured the mother of George Kemp talking about her son, who was shot to death in 2013. The ad claimed that “2,900 children die every year from gun violence.” But George Kemp was not a “child.” He was 20 years old.

The only way to get to the 2,900 figure is to grossly inflate it by including young adults up to 19 years old. Sadly, most gun deaths in urban areas are often teenaged gang members killing each other. When you exclude adults, the number of annual deaths is cut in half.

The ad’s only useful purpose was to prove just how deceptive the left is willing to be. Progressives can’t make arguments without gross distortions because they have no confidence they can win an argument based on facts.

In contrast to Bloomberg’s deceptive ad about limiting our constitutional rights, President Trump’s campaign ran an ad in the first quarter of the game promoting criminal-justice reform featuring Alice Johnson. The powerful ad shows just how serious Trump is about competing for black votes.

Also proving he’s a good businessman who knows how to save money, the president ran a second ad just after the game officially concluded, so it cost significantly less. That ad touted America’s economic success under President Trump’s policies and promised that “the best is yet to come!”

Unfortunately, there was one ad that Fox Sports refused to run. Click here to watch the pro-life ad featuring several survivors of abortion.

Congratulations, Kansas City!

I’m glad the heartland Kansas City Chiefs won over the 49ers from whacked-out San Francisco. Sadly, one of the low points of the game occurred when Beyonce and Jay-Z refused to stand for the national anthem. 

I suppose I should take heart that they didn’t kneel. Instead, they just sat there in their seats. They and their entourage spent more for those seats than many Americans will make in a year. 

What a contrast between the disrespect Beyonce and Jay-Z displayed and Col. Charles McGee, a Tuskegee Airman who was honored at the Super Bowl. McGee “stood up” for our country in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. There’s the decline in America. 

McGee and other Tuskegee Airmen sacrificed for their country at a time when there was widespread discrimination and segregation. Thanks to their sacrifices, Beyonce and Jay-Z have more money than 99.9% of Americans, and yet they’re still complaining about America.

Christian Persecution in Nigeria

The persecution of Christians is getting significantly worse in Nigeria. At least 16 Christians were killed last month by militant Islamists. Among those killed was Pastor Lawan Andimi, who was beheaded by Boko Haram.

Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze, the president of Nigeria’s Conference of Catholic Bishops, is urging western nations to take action because the Nigerian government is turning a blind eye to the Islamist atrocities.  

As many of you know, I was appointed by President Trump to serve on the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). At USCIRF’s urging, the Trump administration added Nigeria to its “Special Watch List” of religious-liberty violators in December. 

I assure you, my fellow commissioners and I will continue to do everything we can to expose the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. In the meantime, please pray for our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering for their faith.   ~The Patriot Post
