The ability of the left-wing propaganda machine to demean any action by the Trump administration is on full display following the decision by Vice President Mike Pence to leave an NFL game because players knelt during the National Anthem.

Pence and his wife Karen attended the Indianapolis Colts Sunday game that was going to honor former quarterback Payton Manning by retiring his football jersey.

A group of the opposing players from the San Francisco 49ers knelt during the National Anthem and the vice president and his wife left the game.

The Washington Post reports on the decision by Pence:

“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us,” he said in a statement. “While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

Following the news coverage of Pence, the left-wing propaganda machine swung into action and called the vice president’s action an expensive “stunt.”

Breitbart News reports on a Tweet from California Democrat Adam Schiff:

After all the scandals involving unnecessarily expensive travel by cabinet secretaries, how much taxpayer money was wasted on this stunt?

The Washington Examiner reports on Democrat reaction to Pence:

“This was orchestrated to make a point?” Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, asked on Twitter. “That’s not an inexpensive thing to do.”

MSNBC program “Morning Joe” continued to promote the expensive stunt message point:

Mediaite reports:

MSNBC’s Steve Schmidt kicked things off: “It’s truly amazing. So he took Air Force 2, full package of Secret Service from Las Vegas to Indianapolis for a stunt, inconvenienced tens of thousands of Colts fans.”

“To, again, use the flag and the anthem as a prop,” Schmidt said. “And the greatest desecration of that flag is the assault on its foundational values which occurs every day with this administration with their attacks on the spirit of the First Amendment, freedom of the press, freedom of expression.”

CNN also weighed in:

How much did Vice President Mike Pence’s trip to Indianapolis to watch — and then abruptly leave — a football game Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers cost?

Finally, a 49ers player also called it a stunt:

And 49ers safety Eric Reid, who was one of the players to start kneeling with Kaepernick in 2016, told reporters that he thought the whole thing was a ‘PR stunt.’

‘So this looks like a PR stunt to me,’ he said in a post-game interview.

‘He knew our team has the most players protest[ing]. He knew that we were probably going to do it again. This is what systematic oppression looks like.

JUST IN: Kaepernick Caught In Criminal Plot

Notorious national anthem kneeler, Colin Kaepernick, is like an anchor around the neck of the NFL. He is sinking fast and is dragging the NFL down with him.

On September 22nd, President Trump told a crowd in Huntsville, Alabama that kneeling NFL players deserved to be fired. Protesting the national anthem “disrespects our flag,” he said, referring to a hypothetical protesting player as a “son of a b—-.” While the protests launched by Colin Kaepernick were originally confined to a small group of players, President Trump’s comments galvanized the league, and many players felt personally attacked. Now, hundreds of players are protesting the national anthem in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, however, few of these players understand that Kaepernick is a radical ideologue who has donated $25,000 to honor a cop killer, reports The Washington Times.

In April, The Colin Kaepernick Foundation donated $25,000 to Assata’s Daughters, a radical “direct action” organization dedicated to honoring the legacy and spread the teachings of notorious cop-killer Assata Shakur.

Assata Shakur was a member of the Black Liberation Army, an offshoot of the violent Black Panther Party. Shakur entered into a gunfight with police on the New Jersey Turnpike in May 1973 which resulted in the death of Officer Werner Foerster. Shakur was found guilty of first-degree murder, in addition to seven other felonies, and was sentenced to life in prison. Assata Shakur managed to escape prison in 1979 and flee to Cuba, where she lives under political asylum.

Of the $25,000 dollars donated to Assata’s Daughters by Kaepernick, $2,500 will be directed towards a program dubbed CopWatch, which encourages volunteers to follow and videotape police. Another $15,000 was directed towards education, to “develop and train young people, ages 4-19, in the Black queer feminist tradition and in the spirit of Assata.”

Immediately after President Trump insulted Kaepernick at the Alabama rally, NFL players, owners, and coaches spoke out. Now, full teams are kneeling for the national anthem, or are waiting in their locker room until after the anthem ends to head onto the field in a show of solidarity.

Kaepernick is a radical ideologue who has donated $25,000 to honor a cop killer. When NFL players emulate him,do they realize they are honoring a cop killer?

Targeting the NFL, targeting the quality of the character of guys in this league for that very protest. I find that very alarming,” said Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. “We know what went on this week,” chimed in Julius Peppers, a defensive end with the Carolina Panthers. “So, I felt like it was appropriate to stand up with them.”

Smith and Peppers are not alone, and many players expressed that they were personally offended by President Trump’s comments. This is understandable. However, the NFL and the players showing support for Kaepernick’s protests should determine if the radical is really worth supporting. It could spell a media firestorm.

Kaepernick claims that his protests were about police brutality, but since leaving the league, The Colin Kaepernick Foundation has supported numerous radical causes — such as pro-open border advocates, pro-abortion groups, The Women’s March, and cop killers. Are the NFL and their players really prepared to take a stance on these controversial issues, and come out in support of a radical?

This Is Why We Stand

This Is Why We Stand

For every little boy who wants to be just like his soldier dad, even after dad didn't come home...this is why we stand.
For every little girl who's Soldier dad doesn't get to walk her down the aisle...this is why we stand.
For every wife who grieves for her soldier husband...this is why we stand.
For every parent who has to bury their soldier child...this is why we stand.
For every soldier who lost a buddy...this is why we stand.
For every coffin draped with an American flag... this is why we stand.
For every folded American flag that now sits proudly displayed on the mantle...this is why we stand.
For every fallen soldier...this is why we stand.
For every soldier who can no longer stand because he/she had the courage to stand for our freedom...this is why we stand.
We stand not because we have to, not so we can show off, but because we want to.  We stand because we understand the sacrifices that were made, so we could be free.  We stand out of respect for all of those who stood for us.  We stand out of respect for this country.
Yes, you have the right not to stand, you have the right to disrespect the flag and everyone who fought, suffered and died to keep that flag flying.  But just because you have the right, doesn't mean it is right.  You have the right because you live in the shadow of the protection that very banner provides.  That same flag you're stomping on, that same flag you're burning, that same flag you refuse to stand for, is that ONE flag that represents your freedom to do just that.
For every tear that falls...THIS IS WHY WE STAND!

An open letter to the NFL players,

A letter that explains exactly how the American people feel about these spoiled punks who take a knee, and disrespect all that our great country represents.

An open letter to the NFL players,

You graduated high school in 2011.  Your teenage years were a struggle.  You grew up on the wrong side of the tracks..  Your mother was the leader of the family and worked tirelessly to keep a roof over your head and food on your plate.  Academics were a struggle for you and your grades were mediocre at best. The only thing that made you stand out is you weighed 225 lbs and could run 40 yards in 4.2 seconds while carrying a football.   Your best friend was just like you, except he didn’t play football.  Instead of going to football practice after school, he went to work at McDonalds for minimum wage.  You were recruited by all the big colleges and spent every weekend of your senior year making visits to universities where coaches and boosters tried to convince you their school was best.  They laid out the red carpet for you. Your best friend worked double shifts at Mickey D’s.  College was not an option for him.  On the day you signed with Big State University, your best friend signed paperwork with his Army recruiter.  You went to summer workouts.  He went to basic training.
You spent the next four years living in the athletic dorm, eating at the training table. You spent your Saturdays on the football field, cheered on by adoring fans.  Tutors attended to your every academic need.  You attended class when you felt like it. Sure, you worked hard.  You lifted weights, ran sprints, studied plays, and soon became one of the top football players in the country.  Your best friend was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. While you were in college, he deployed to Iraq once and Afghanistan twice.  He became a Sergeant and led a squad of 19 year old soldiers who grew up just like he did.  He shed his blood in Afghanistan and watched young American's give their lives, limbs, and innocence for the USA.
You went to the NFL combine and scored off the charts.  You hired an agent and waited for draft day.  You were drafted in the first round and your agent immediately went to work, ensuring that you received the most money possible. You signed for $16 million although you had never played a single down of professional football.  Your best friend re-enlisted in the Army for four more years. As a combat tested sergeant, he will be paid $32,000 per year.
You will drive a Ferrari on the streets of South Beach.  He will ride in the back of a Blackhawk helicopter with 10 other combat loaded soldiers.  You will sleep at the Ritz.  He will dig a hole in the ground and try to sleep.  You will “make it rain” in the club.  He will pray for rain as the temperature reaches 120 degrees.
On Sunday, you will run into a stadium as tens of thousands of fans cheer and yell your name.  For your best friend, there is little difference between Sunday and any other day of the week.  There are no adoring fans.  There are only people trying to kill him and his soldiers. Every now and then, he and his soldiers leave the front lines and “go to the rear” to rest.  He might be lucky enough to catch an NFL game on TV.  When the National Anthem plays and you take a knee, he will jump to his feet and salute the television.  While you protest the unfairness of life in the United States, he will give thanks to God that he has the honor of defending his great country.
To the players of the NFL:  We are the people who buy your tickets, watch you on TV, and wear your jerseys.  We anxiously wait for Sundays so we can cheer for you and marvel at your athleticism. Although we love to watch you play, we care little about your opinions until you offend us. You have the absolute right to express yourselves, but we have the absolute right to boycott you.  We have tolerated your drug use and DUIs, your domestic violence, and your vulgar displays of wealth.  We should be ashamed for putting our admiration of your physical skills before what is morally right.  But now you have gone too far. You have insulted our flag, our country, our soldiers, our police officers, and our veterans. You are living the American dream, yet you disparage our great country.  I am done with NFL football and encourage all like minded Americans to boycott the NFL as well.
--- SHARE, SHARE, SHARE ---

National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, Veterans Day Weekend. Boycott all football telecast, all fans, all ticket holders, stay away from attending any games, let them play to empty stadiums. Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.

The "why" and "how" of Las Vegas

NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Tuesday, October 3, 2017
I read a heart-wrenching story about a Martinsburg, WV woman who was killed during the Las Vegas massacre. She and her husband where shown kissing at the concert beforehand. They had saved up to attend. She died in his arms. There are families and friends of 59 others who were murdered and over 500 wounded or injured who will spend a lifetime trying to figure out the "why" such a thing happened. It is a horror, a senseless horror. Part of the "why" has to be that we live in an evil world and people who give in to evil are controlled by it. This guy, Stephen Paddock, obviously was influenced by satan to do such a brutal and horrendous act.

Paddock's brother was quoted as saying that Stephen was not affiliated with any politics or religion. The brother could not even venture a guess why Stephen would plan and execute such an act. There are a lot of theories, even conspiracy theories, populating the internet about Stephen Paddock's affiliations and a great deal of speculation as to why he would seek to kill so many innocent people. But there is one picture that is posted on pamelageller.com that speaks volumes to me if it is not photo-shopped. Pamela Geller traditionally has been a whistle-blower on Islam and is considered by many an excellent source of both facts and commentary, so I don't have reason to believe that the picture is a fake.

The picture shows Stephen Paddock and his girlfriend Marilou Danley protesting at an anti-Trump rally in Reno. He is in a pink NASA shirt wearing the pink vagina hat that became the trademark of radical anti-Trump protesters during the inauguration. Geller was able to get a screenshot of Paddock from a video that was posted on youtube. Youtube, however, has removed the video, saying it violated their policy on spam, deceptive practices and scams. I was able to find the footage on several other websites, including a youtube posting that wasn't removed. Notwithstanding, the photos and video appear legitimate after scouring several independent sources. Here is the point I am trying to make:

CNN Senior White House Correspondent Jeff Zeleny pointed out after President Trump made his remarks of condolence that most of the victims were country music fans and were likely Trump supporters. CBS Executive VP and Counsel Hayley Geftman-Gold said, "I'm not even sympathetic bc country music fans are often Republican gun toters." She was fired for her remarks. The hate rhetoric among the anti-Trump left has been so visceral and nonstop for so long that it is impacting the psyche of weak-minded people who live and die by it, and they are willing to act upon it. It is bad for the country and bad for individuals living here.

Remember in June the assassination attempt of Congressional Republicans by Illinois leftist James Hodgkinson, who wounded four and left Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) in critical condition? Hate-filled inflammatory rhetoric by Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, the ex-"president," Keith Ellison, Ashley Judd, Madonna, and so on, has people so stirred up that it was only a matter of time when a nut-case like Hodgkinson took matters into his own hands. I wrote at the time that Hodgkinson was not alone. Now Paddock. Who next? Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." The "why" is satan. The "how" are those who act out his ways.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
Bill Wilson

People Mag in Hot Water Over Fake Story About Fake Vegas Victim

People magazine has deleted a story about a Las Vegas shooting victim who doesn’t appear to exist.

The magazine ran a story on Wednesday about a terminally ill man, Larry Parra, who they claimed was among the 58 people killed in the mass shooting in Las Vegas last Sunday. The story, was based entirely off the account of one alleged eyewitness, Jason Rogers.

The photos that Rogers provided of “Larry Parra” are actually photos of Rogers’ husband, Mic reported.

Rogers claimed to have been at the Las Vegas concert with Parra, only to have gotten separated shortly before the shooting started.

“I heard the shots, and after I got up from the ground from ducking I went to try and find Larry,” Rogers told People. “I didn’t want to leave him because he is a very dear and close friend.” (Read more from “People Mag in Hot Water Over Fake Story About Fake Vegas Victim” HERE) http://joemiller.us/2017/10/people-mag-hot-water-fake-story-fake-vegas-victim/

Dem Congressman: Bulldoze ‘Every Inch’ of Existing Border Barriers

Homeland Security Committee member exposes how liberals really feel about nation's security

by Brendan Kirby | Updated 04 Oct 2017 at 2:16 PM

Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee lined up Wednesday to oppose a bill to beef up border security and build a wall on the Mexican border, but a representative from Texas took it a step further.

During a committee meeting to discuss the Border Security for America Act of 2017, Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas) expressed his dissatisfaction with the existing fencing that separates the United States and Mexico along parts of the nearly 2,000-mile border.

ADVERTISING

“I strongly oppose Trump’s wall,” he said. “In fact, I would take a bulldozer to every inch of existing structure on the U.S.-Mexican border.”

Vela, first elected in 2012 to represent a heavily Latino district that touches the Mexican border, spoke in favor of an amendment to the bill to define the wall. His sarcastic list snatched lines from President Donald Trump’s campaign speeches, including “big and beautiful,” “see through,” “not a fence,” and “has openings.”

The definition also included that it be solar, made of rebar and steel, and paid for by the Mexican government.

Vela said he would vote against his own amendment, offered as an attack on the proposed wall.

“I offer this amendment to provide the members of this committee the clearest picture to date of the conflicting and absurd vision that the president has for his wall,” he said. “A vote for this amendment is a vote for Donald Trump’s vision. A ‘yes’ vote on this amendment is a vote for his big, beautiful wall.”

senate-daca-dreamers-hearing1-360x210.jpgDemocrats Paranoid Trump Will Use DACA Info for RoundupsAdministration officials repeatedly testify at hearing that information-sharing policy has not changed

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), chairman of the committee, indicated that Vela's stunt would not stop the bill from advancing.

"Let me just say that I appreciate the gentleman's creativity in his amendment and his sense of humor, but I will oppose this amendment," he said.

The bill calls for additional customs agents and U.S. Border Patrol officers, improved technology, and new physical barriers. It also would upgrade the land ports of entry.

‘Liberalism is white supremacy!’: Black Lives Matter shuts down ACLU free speech event

51

This reminds me of Martin Niemöller’s famous quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The ACLU has aided and abetted these fascists for years. But oppression and subjugation is a slippery slope – they will come for anyone and everyone they decide is untouchable.

‘Liberalism is white supremacy!’: Black Lives Matter actually shuts down ACLU free speech event

Ocotber 4, 2017, By Doug Urbanski, The Blaze:

One might assume Black Lives Matter and liberals are best of friends. But that doesn’t appear to be the case after what transpired at the College of William & Mary last week.

What happened?

  • Black Lives Matter protesters stood in front of a stage and began chanting five minutes into a freedom of speech event co-sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union at the Williamsburg, Virginia, school, Flat Hat News — the college’s student paper — reported.

What did the sign-toting protesters chant?

  • “Liberalism is white supremacy!”
  • “ACLU, you protect Hitler, too!”
  • “No justice, no peace — Nazis don’t deserve free speech!”
  • “Your free speech hides beneath white sheets!”
  • “Blood on your hands!”
  • “Shame!”
  • “The revolution will not uphold the Constitution!”
Image source: Facebook video screenshotImage source: Facebook video screenshot

How did the speaker respond to the protesters?

  • As protesters marched to the front of the stage, speaker Claire Guthrie Gastañaga — executive director of the Virginia ACLU — said, “Good, I like this. This is good. I’m going to talk to you a bit about knowing your rights and protests and demonstrations, which this illustrates very well …”

What did a Black Lives Matter member say after an event organizer handed her a microphone?

  • “When is the free speech of the oppressed protected?” the BLM member asked, Flat Hat News said. “We know from personal experience that rights granted to wealthy, white, cis, male, straight bodies do not trickle down to marginalized groups. We face greater barriers and consequences for speaking.”
Image source: Facebook video screenshotImage source: Facebook video screenshot

Did the free speech event resume?

  • The event titled, “Students and the First Amendment,” was shut down and did not resume, Flat Hat News reported.

What happened when the event ended?

  • Some students who attended the event to actually hear what Gastañaga had to say circled around her in the hopes of asking questions and dialoguing, the student paper said.
  • But no dice. The Black Lives Matter protesters gathered around them and drowned out Gastañaga with more chanting.
  • The remaining students then dispersed, Flat Hat News said.
Image source: Facebook video screenshotImage source: Facebook video screenshot

Here’s video of the protest:

What did Black Lives Matter say afterward?

  • William & Mary’s BLM chapter said on its Facebook page that it “shut down” the event, the student paper said: “In contrast to the ACLU, we want to reaffirm our position of zero tolerance for white supremacy no matter what form it decides to masquerade in.”

How did the school respond?

  • “Silencing certain voices in order to advance the cause of others is not acceptable in our community,” William & Mary President Taylor Reveley said in a statement, Flat Hat News said. “This stifles debate and prevents those who’ve come to hear a speaker, our students in particular, from asking questions, often hard questions, and from engaging in debate where the strength of ideas, not the power of shouting, is the currency.”
Image source: Facebook video screenshotImage source: Facebook video screenshot

How did students respond?

  • “I do not believe that preventing discussion from happening is a viable pathway to get what you want,” Tyler Senio told the student paper. “I believe it is important for people to express themselves and stand up for the issues they believe in. However, once these expressions start to negatively affect others and prevent progress in the area they are protesting, that’s when the justification becomes questionable.”
  • “We are proud of be a part of a politically active community that voices their concerns and fights for their rights,” student and event organizer Miguel Dayan told Flat Hat News. “However, we hoped for a two-sided dialogue so our students could learn about their rights and [have] the chance to question, critique and engage in conversation with the director herself.”

This writer’s perspective

Even though a Black Lives Matter member was given a chance to speak to the audience on a microphone at an event BLM was not connected to — and even though BLM managed to shut down the event — the protesters weren’t content.

They didn’t even give audience members and the speaker the opportunity to huddle and chat informally afterward, simply drowning out their discussion with more chanting.

That’s disturbing.

The free speech event organizers put their money where their mouths were and gave protesters a chance to be heard when they didn’t have to. And the protesters returned the favor by spitting on that.

Some day the protesters who shut down free speech at William & Mary could find their own speech endangered or shut down — and who then will come to their defense after the judgment they’ve passed on others’ speech?

Americans can’t abandon the crucial idea that even those with ideas we despise have the right to speak. We may not like it, but it’s a temporary and much lesser downside to a greater good. A gift that lets us freely express ourselves as opposed to hiding in the shadows in fear of what may happen to us if we say what’s on our minds.

Soft tyranny and today's society

NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Friday, October 6, 2017
In today's society, do you ever feel that you should not speak your mind because you will be labeled something you are not? Do you ever feel like you have an opinion and yet uneasy about expressing it? Do you think that as a Christian, it is better to not express your views on morality in public forums? Have you felt any kind of reservation about what you do and say could be listened to by the government, so you watch your words? Are there just certain issues that you don't talk about much anymore because the response is so visceral and examples have been made of those who say something?  Do you feel your free speech is OK so long as you keep it to yourself? It's selective free speech. It's soft tyranny.

Alexis de Tocqueville defines soft tyranny in his book Democracy in America, Volume II (1840): "It [the government] covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence: it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd."

If you are afraid to speak your mind because of the consequences of perhaps losing your job, your livelihood, or that it may invite some government investigation or ruination, you are experiencing soft tyranny.  Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." A free people can only exist by adhering to the precepts of God. Bondage is bondage, whether it is sin or tyranny. We live in a society where a very vocal minority is bullying your Constitutional rights. Moreover, eternally these people face great peril. Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..."

We must speak boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. Even though many respond with hatred and accuse you based on the very intents of their own hearts, they will not know the truth unless someone tells them. We would not know sin had we not known the laws of God. Don't be a victim of soft tyranny. Right is greater than might. As Ephesians 6:12-13 says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Soft tyranny is evil. Stand against it.

Jimmy Kimmel Lies about Trump, Guns, and the Mentally Ill

There is a delicious sense of irony in gun-control advocate Jimmy Kimmel beefing up his armed security after falsely claiming on his late-night talk show after the Las Vegas massacre that President Trump had made it easier for the mentally ill to get guns. Guns are okay to protect the liberal elites, but not for the rest of us, who can’t be trusted or don’t know any better.

The same double standard exists for Democratic members of Congress who demand their constituents be disarmed even as they welcome back Rep. Steve Scalise, the victim of a shooting where a bad guy with a gun was stopped by a good guy with a gun. Many members of Congress are alive today only because Scalise, being a member of the House leadership, had his armed security detail with him

Dr. Kimmel has no way of knowing even now that the Las Vegas shooter was mentally unstable. Certainly the meticulous planning and preparation by the shooter over a long period of time would seem to indicate that while the shooter was evil, he was perfectly competent and sane. Certainly Kimmel’s charge against Trump is not true:

Noting that President Trump had offered prayers for the victims’ families, and that Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, had said that this wasn’t the time for political debate, he went on: “We have fifty-nine innocent people dead. It wasn’t their time, either. So I think now is the time for political debate.” He reminded his audience that, in February, Trump had signed a bill that made it easier for people with mental illness to buy guns. “The Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, a number of other lawmakers who won’t do anything about this because the N.R.A. has their balls in a money clip, also sent their thoughts and their prayers today. Which is good. They should be praying. They should be praying for God to forgive them for letting the gun lobby run this country.”

Steve Scalise owes his life to the Second Amendment, which was written not to shoot deer, but to shoot tyrants. The Second Amendment was written to protect the other nine in the Bill of Rights, including the First Amendment, which gives Jimmy Kimmel the right to sound like the blooming idiot he is.

What President Trump signed was a bill overturning an executive order that would tar the innocent with the broad brush of mental illness, people which included the elderly and veterans, in order to pursue the Obama administration’s gun control agenda:

Here's what happened earlier this year: Congress voted to overturn a last-minute Obama-era regulation that would give the Social Security Administration the power to revoke a person's Second Amendment rights based on whether he receives disability for a mental impairment that keeps him from working, or if he "[uses] a representative payee to help manage their benefits."

As my Washington Examiner colleague David Freddoso explained at the time, the repeal of the Obama-era regulation, "doesn't allow people to buy guns who have been properly adjudicated by a court of law as mentally ill or unstable."

The Obama-era rule was designed to take away people's rights without due process of law. It would have flagged the names of people who, for example, have an anxiety disorder or depression which keeps them from working, and who, as the SSA puts it, ‘need help in managing [their] personal money affairs,'" he added. "As the many non-political mental health and autism advocacy groups that supported the House action noted, there is no link between these factors and a propensity for violence."

The Obama administration repeatedly tried to use mental health as a means, not to make us safer, but to deny us our gun rights under the Second Amendment. Consider Obama’s pick of Dr. Vivek Murthy to be our Surgeon General, someone who firmly believes gun control is a health issue, something that can and should be used to gut out Second Amendment Rights. As Investor’s Business Daily editorialized during his confirmation process:

Murthy's approach to attacking the Second Amendment has been to say private ownership of firearms is a public health issue. The 37-year-old Murthy is president and co-founder of the anti-gun group Doctors for America, which advocates ObamaCare and gun control laws. His group, which has been dubbed Docs vs. Glocks, has pushed Congress to ban "assault" weapons and "high capacity" magazines.

Doctors for America has promoted the invasion of privacy by doctors by advocating they ask patients if they have guns at home, including asking children if their parents own guns. He would have doctors counsel their patients against exercising their Second Amendment rights. One wonders how private that information would remain if entered into the medical records the government would be privy to under ObamaCare.

Back in 2013, a piece of legislation called Toomey-Manchin proposed that doctors be allowed to unilaterally place a patient’s name in the background check system in a way that violated patient doctor confidentially under HIPAA as well as our Second Amendment Rights:

The Toomey-Manchin proposal contains a provision that lets a doctor add a patient to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) without ever telling the patient he or she has been added.

This would seem to violate doctor-patient confidentiality, due process and the presumption of innocence in one fell swoop.

As the Heritage Foundation reports, this "gun control legislation eliminates any (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy protection for mental health records in connection with the NICS system, leaving only what privacy protection the attorney general cares to provide."

The Obama administrations idea of keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill is based on a bizarre and discriminatory definition of who might be mentally unstable. Back in 2013 it was reported that the Veterans Administration was sending letters to vets warning them that they might be declared mentally incompetent and have their Second Amendment rights stripped unless they could prove otherwise:

The contempt by the Obama administration for our Constitution and our rights has reached a new low with news the Veterans Administration has begun sending letters to veterans telling them they will be declared mentally incompetent and stripped of the Second Amendment rights unless they can prove to unnamed bureaucrats to the contrary….

"A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition. If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, Pub.L.No. 103-159, as implemented at 18, United States Code 924(a)(2)," the letter reads….

While mental health is a factor in the current gun control debate and recent mass shootings in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., and elsewhere have in common the questionable mental state of the shooters, to single out returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan this way is unconscionable and unconstitutional.

As the Los Angeles Times has reported, the Obama administration would like to make our Social Security records part of the background check system. The move would strip some four million Americans who receive payments though a “representative payee” of their gun rights. It would be the largest gun grab in U.S. history.

A potentially large group within Social Security are people who, in the language of federal gun laws, are unable to manage their own affairs due to "marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease."

There is no simple way to identify that group, but a strategy used by the Department of Veterans Affairs since the creation of the background check system is reporting anyone who has been declared incompetent to manage pension or disability payments and assigned a fiduciary.

Keeping guns out of the hands of the truly mentally unstable is a worthy goal, but it should not be used as a cause for disarming veterans who carried a weapon in defense of their country or senior systems who might need some assistance in paying their bills.

They deserve the presumption of innocence and sanity. Stripping away their Second Amendment rights in the name of mental health would be a gross injustice that would not make us safer, but would merely create millions of unarmed victims for the next shooter with an agenda.

Long before President Trump’s public scolding of NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem, the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) was donating some of their dues to organizations also backed by George Soros. These groups support liberal causes and are part of the “resist” President Trump movement.

2nd Vote, a conservative organization that tracks corporations and organizations funding of liberal causes, is reporting that the NFLPA has donated to many leftist groups including a prominent anti-Trump resistance group called the Center for Community Change Action (CCC). A recent Washington Free Beacon scoop explains the Center for Community Change Action has “been involved in direct action against President Donald Trump and Republicans before and after the November elections.”

Per the latest available CCC Annual Report (2015)  which is embedded below NFL Players Association and George Soros’s Foundation for Open Society donates to help support of the center’s work. One example of that work was a 2016 election effort targeting voters in swing states who might object to the President’s policy on illegal immigrants:

In 2016, The Center for Community Change Action and the Immigrant Voters Win PAC targeted over 700,000 low-propensity Latino and Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters in Nevada, Colorado and Florida. Our multilayered, metrics driven program operated 15 canvass offices, completed more than 1.7 million door knocks, sent 1.2 million pieces of mail, made 638,566 phone calls and sent more than 1.9 million SMS alerts.

Presently they are working to defeat Ed Gillespie in the 2017 Virginia gubernatorial race

CCC is not the only liberal/ anti-Trump cause supported by the NFL Players,

NFLPA financially supported at least two more left-wing, anti-Trump activist groups. Two of the union’s last three tax filings (20132015) show donations to Working America, a Steyer-supported organization that used Craigslist in Cleveland, Ohio to apparently recruit paid activists to protest the 2016 GOP convention. The NFLPA’s 2014 tax filing shows a donation to Jobs With Justice, another organization backed by Soros that actively opposes the president’s tax cuts.

The NFL players’ support of liberal, anti-Trump causes aligned with progressive sugar daddy George Soros gives context to the protest started by Colin Kaepernick and the reaction to President Trump’s criticism. In his book, The Age of Fallibility: The Consequences of the War on Terror, Soros said:

“The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States. This is a harsh — indeed, for me, painful — thing to say, but unfortunately I am convinced it is true.”

When one looks at the causes they support and who they align with,  it seems quite natural for the players to dishonor a country that despite its imperfections, is still the greatest and freest Nation the history of mankind.

The Flag, the "why" and the "what"

NOTEWhen writing about God and Jesus, The Daily Jot means YHVH as God and Yeshua Ha Mashiach as Jesus--the actual original names and the true nature and character of them.

Thursday, October 5, 2017
The Flag of the United States of America is flying at half-mast today as it has been since the Mandalay Bay massacre in Las Vegas. It signifies a nation in mourning over the senseless and brutal deaths of the innocent. We are a nation in mourning. Yet there are people who neither will allow mourning, nor respect it. Promoting their own self-indulgent causes must continue no matter the cause of decency. They have only their own honor, an example of what Judges 17:6 describes as "every man did that which was right in his own eyes." When I look at that flag at half-mast, and the lack of respect certain people have for it and the country, it reminds me of the sacrifices true patriots have made for freedom.

I've been involved in a lot of conversations lately about the flag. Many, in fact, most, say that people should be forced to stand for the playing of the National Anthem and the presentation of the flag. To me, true freedom is not about forcing someone to recognize it. It is about the individual embracing it in their hearts-where the American ideal resides. They should have enough good sense to stand even if it is just out of respect for those who gave their blood, sweat and tears that others might have the freedom to protest societal wrongs. Forcing someone to stand during the National Anthem and presentation of the flag may have better optics, but is it truly representative of liberty? Let me give another thought.

Some years ago, my wife and I along with some very brave parents started a Christian home school co-op. We taught all the grades and had about 15 students ranging from first grade to high school. Each morning, we started the school with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. When I would ask who would like to lead the Pledge, it was like pulling teeth. They didn't have any problem praying, but holding that flag and leading the Pledge was a different story. I talked it over with others who said just to mandate it and force them to do it. But that didn't set well with me. So I started telling true stories about the flag, the heroic efforts of those who carried it into battle, and what it meant to people. The attitudes changed and soon all the students, younger and older, were asking if they could hold the flag and lead the Pledge.

My family has been in this land since the Mayflower. I know how hard it was for those who came before me to settle in a wilderness and carve out a farm, a community, a state, a country. I respect that and honor them for it. We never owned slaves. We were part of the abolitionist movement. We treated people fairly and tried to do what was right. Our heritage speaks to it, like so many Americans. I will stand for the flag and the National Anthem because I know what's behind it. It's important for our children to understand the "why" and the "what" that they may respect and cherish freedom AND know when it is appropriate to defend it, and when it is appropriate and responsible to stand against tyranny.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

San Juan Mayor Feuding With Trump Turned Her Back When Asked to Swear to Uphold the Constitution

October 4, 2017/by Rachel del Guidice

A 2013 video shows the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, turning her back when asked to swear to uphold the Constitution.

Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB9tNPbDW-E

On Saturday, President Donald Trump called out Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor, for her “poor leadership ability” in a tweet. The day prior, Cruz had been critical, saying, “If anybody out there is listening to us, we are dying, and you are killing us with the inefficiency.” Cruz first became mayor of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, in 2013. When taking the oath of office, Cruz delayed repeating the words that she would “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States,” turning her back to the woman administering the oath for a long moment. The English and Spanish versions of the oath read as follows: I, Carmen Yulin Cruz Soto, as mayor of San Juan, solemnly swear that I shall uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and Laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico against any domestic or foreign enemy; that I will render fidelity and adherence to them; and that I assume this obligation freely and without mental reserve or purpose to evade it; and that I will perform well and faithfully the duties of the position or employment that I am about to exercise. So help me God. Article VI, Section 16 of Puerto Rico’s Constitution states, “All public officials and employees of the Commonwealth, its agencies, instrumentalities and political subdivisions, before entering upon their respective duties, shall take an oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.” After turning her back and pausing, Cruz does swear to defend the Constitution, and then enthusiastically repeats to uphold the Puerto Rican Constitution. “During June of this year, when the leading newspaper in Puerto Rico polled people on the island about her performance as mayor, she had an abysmal 24 percent approval rating,” says Ken Oliver-Méndez, former assistant secretary of state of Puerto Rico. “She is known for maligning and stoking sentiment against the United States, and people know that if it were up to her, Puerto Rico would not even be part of the United States. She has said on record that in her party, there is no room for people who believe in the permanent union of Puerto Rico and the United States,” Oliver-Méndez, director of Media Research Center Latino, added. Oliver-Méndez, who previously headed the speechwriting team of former Puerto Rico Gov. Luis Fortuño, unearthed the 2013 video. Cruz called Trump’s visit to Puerto Rico to survey the damage of Hurricane Maria “insulting,” Politico reported. “This was a PR, 17-minute meeting,” Cruz said. “There was no exchange with anybody, with none of the mayors. And in fact, this terrible and abominable view of him throwing paper towels and throwing provisions at people, it really—it does not embody the spirit of the American nation, you know?” On Twitter, Trump defended his stance of the visit to Puerto Rico. The Daily Signal requested comment from the San Juan City Hall and the office of Rep. Jenniffer González-Colón of the New Progressive Party. González-Colón is Puerto Rico’s only representative in Congress. Antifa’s Next Target? America’s Police

October 4, 2017/by WND

The left-wing extremist group known as antifa is gearing up for insurrection. And the primary target may be America’s already beleaguered police force. A special report from WND reveals a number of antifa groups have begun explicitly targeting police departments on the grounds the thin blue line is composed of “oppressors.” Among the most militant is the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement, or RAM, a new group whose activities have been widely covered by the antifa information hub It’s Going Down. RAM most recently drew headlines when it announced plans to deface and destroy more historical monuments on Oct. 9 as part of an upcoming “Deface Columbus Day.” However, a closer look at the group reveals a far more ambitious and radical agenda. The group’s program draws inspiration from convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, who murdered Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in December 1981. RAM claims “essentially, the Civil War never ended” and suggests slavery still exists. (Read more from “Antifa’s Next Target? Las Vegas Shooter: Multimillionaire, Ex-IRS Agent, Postman, Defense Contractor Who Sheriff Says “Did Not Act Alone”

The Strange Background of the Las Vegas Shooter

By JENNIFER MEDINA, RICHARD PÉREZ-PEÑA and ADAM GOLDMAN. Law enforcement officials have said they are confident that Mr. Paddock, who had no prior criminal record, was the sole gunman on Sunday. Though the Islamic State group has claimed that he was one of its followers, officials say that they have found no evidence so far that he had ties to any extremist group. . .

His work history was not completely clear; his brother has described him as a wealthy retiree. Mr. Paddock worked for the federal government for roughly 10 years, from 1975 to 1985, a spokeswoman for the Office of Personnel Management confirmed.

Investigators unearthed multiple job applications, with Mr. Paddock’s fingerprints on file, as part of records reflecting his employment as a letter carrier for the Postal Service in the mid 1970s; as an Internal Revenue Service agent from 1978 to 1984; and as an auditor focused on defense contracts, a job he held until 1985. He also worked in the 1980s for one of the companies that later combined to form Lockheed Martin, the aerospace contractor. Sheriff: Paddock Did Not Act Alone

By Vincent Wood. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said: “At face value he had to have some help at some point and we want to ensure that that’s the answer.

“Maybe he was a superhuman who figured this out all on his own but it would be hard for me to believe that.”

Police confirmed the shooter “meticulously” planned his strike on the Route 91 Harvest Festival from his vantage points in the Mandalay Hotel.

Officers, who are investigating the double life of the cold-blooded killer, believe he spent decades acquiring weapons and living a “secret life”. (Read more from this story about the Las Vegas shooter HERE)

Las Vegas Shooter a “Multi-Millionaire”

By Brad Tuttle. Paddock also appears to have been quite wealthy. . . He owned two planes and was a licensed pilot, and owned homes in four states, according to the Washington Post. His brother said that Stephen Paddock made some $2 million when the two sold their real estate business a few years ago. And just before the massacre, he wired $100,000 to his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, in the Philippines, a transaction investigators are still attempting to explain. . .

Much of Paddock’s money appears to have been spent in casinos. NBC News reported that Paddock often gambled at least $10,000 a day in Las Vegas casinos, and sometimes upwards of $30,000 per day. He reportedly gambled a total of at least $160,000 at Vegas casinos in the weeks before the mass shooting.

It’s unclear how much he won or lost over this time span.A few years ago, he described himself as a “professional gambler by trade” according to his then-neighbor in central Florida, before he moved to Nevada. . .

Eric Paddock said that his brother Stephen pocketed roughly $2 million a few years ago when they sold off the real estate business they ran together. “He’s a multimillionaire,” Eric said, according to New York. “He helped me become affluent, he made me wealthy.” (Read more from this story about the Las Vegas shooter HERE) http://joemiller.us/2017/10/las-vegas-shooter-multimillionaire/

Hillary Clinton Blames Republicans and NRA For Gun Violence

Hillary Clinton is making news again regarding the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Clinton was very quick to comment on the shooting. The morning after the tragic event she attacked the NRA in a tweet:

Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.

In the days following the tragedy, Clinton is continuing to attack the NRA and Republicans by blaming them for gun violence.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on Clinton’s interview on the Center for American Progress’ podcast:

Hillary Clinton, in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting, said on Monday that Republicans are “captured by the NRA” and they are “complicit” in violent crime.

The two-time presidential candidate spoke on the Center for American Progress’ “Thinking Cap” podcast, where she spoke about the Las Vegas shooting and advocated for “broad-based social change” toward gun control, Mediaite reported. Clinton argued gun deregulation is the result of the NRA’s lobbying power over the Republican Party.

“The way the Republican Party has been captured by the NRA, which has intimidated a lot of Democrats … is one of the worst developments of the last 25 years,” she said.

Clinton is not the only Democrat trying to exploit the mass shooting tragedy.

Democrat Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal is promoting gun control during TV interviews and he also issued a statement.

“Although many details of this mass shooting remain unclear, one thing is certain: yet again, we are watching in horror as another American community is torn apart by the terrible devastation wrought by a gunman. My heart breaks for Las Vegas: the victims, their families, their friends, and their entire community. It has been barely a year since what was previously the largest mass shooting in American history – the deadly attack at Pulse nightclub. In the interim, thousands more have been lost to the daily, ruthless toll of gun violence. Still, Congress refuses to act. I am more than frustrated, I am furious.”

Michelle Obama People Don’t Trust Politics Because of ‘White Republican Men’

Michelle Obama railed against evil white men while speaking about ‘diversity’ at a Pennsylvania Conference for Women on Tuesday. Classy.

Michelle Obama complained about the ‘colors’ she would see when she attended the State of the Union addresses. Naturally, this is how a divisive, cultural Marxist sees the world. Instead of Americans, she see ‘colors’.

Obama expressed her disgust for all of the white Republican men and said, “no wonder people don’t trust politics.”

“On one side of the room, it’s literally gray and white. Literally, that’s the color palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites and greens. Physically, there’s a difference in color, in the tone. Because one side: all men, all white. On the other side: some women, some people of color.”
