Left-fascists of SPLC and ADL exploiting Charlottesville to destroy the freedom of speech and silence those they hate

“SPLC, presumably ADL, and ProPublica just don’t like Robert Spencer’s opinions about the practice of Islamism and Jihad. Yet as we have seen in other contexts, rather than winning the war of ideas, they seek to stifle free speech and, in this case, dry up sources of revenue for their political opponents.”

Yes, and they’re not going to stop with PayPal. They won’t stop until Jihad Watch is shut down, my books are not offered for sale on Amazon or anywhere else, and no one will dare host a speech by me. These fascists who call themselves “anti-fascists” are totalitarian: they are determined not to allow their opponents to murmur the slightest whisper of dissent.

Therefore I may be out of action soon. And I do mean soon: this initiative is happening very rapidly, and those who should be standing up to it — the establishment Republicans and the Trump administration — don’t show any sign of even being aware it is happening. But even when I am silenced, and all other foes of jihad terror are silenced, the jihad will not go away. If there are any people among the SPLC and ADL and Pro Publica and the rest who are not outright fascists and actually think they’re doing a good thing in standing against “hate,” they will eventually discover that they have been on the wrong side, and aided and abetted nothing less than the destruction of free society. But by then it will be too late.

“Charlottesville is being exploited to attack freedom of speech and internet freedom,” by William A. Jacobson, Legal Insurrection, August 20, 2017:

This was a really bad week for freedom of speech and internet freedom.

As documented in my post Gathering Storms And Threats to Liberty, corporations that operate the gateways to the internet, such as domain registrars and services such as Cloudfare, have come under pressure and have capitulated to drive the ne0-Nazi website Daily Stormer from the internet. That pressure is now moving to other organizations based on biased and politicized “hate” lists from groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League.

I pointed out the danger to internet freedom:

Attempts to induce corporations to silence conservatives are nothing new. We have seen years of pressure tactics from groups such as Media Matter to shut down voices such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity by pressuring and harassing advertisers. Campaigns are currently underway to force advertisers away from websites such as Breitbart and Gateway Pundit….

That tactic now has gone to a completely different level with attempts to intimidate internet hosting companies and companies that provide internet infrastructure to cut off access to the internet. So far, the effort has been focused on the neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer. People might not care that The Daily Stormer is taken down, but the history of leftist tactics show that the target universe will expand dramatically and it will not be long before efforts are directed, as they are now for advertisers, at mainstream conservative and right-of-center websites….

Companies like Cloudfare and others who provide internet infrastrucure will come under increasing pressure, and it won’t be limited to the Storm Fronts of the world. We know from history that the “hate” label is broadly applied for political purposes, and will be used only against right-of-center websites.

Being cut off from domain registrars and other aspects of the internet backbone is something we expect from totalitarian governments. Now that power is in the control of almost-uniformly left-wing corporate managers.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation also was highly critical of the Cloudfare move against Daily Stormer:

Even for free speech advocates, this situation is deeply fraught with emotional, logistical, and legal twists and turns. All fair-minded people must stand against the hateful violence and aggression that seems to be growing across our country. But we must also recognize that on the Internet, any tactic used now to silence neo-Nazis will soon be used against others, including people whose opinions we agree with. Those on the left face calls to characterize the Black Lives Matter movement as a hate group. In the Civil Rights Era cases that formed the basis of today’s protections of freedom of speech, the NAACP’s voice was the one attacked.

Protecting free speech is not something we do because we agree with all of the speech that gets protected. We do it because we believe that no one—not the government and not private commercial enterprises—should decide who gets to speak and who doesn’t.

An important background on this damaging Cloudfare move involves The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). SPLC has criticized Cloudfare for providing services to groups “hate” groups at least as far back as March 2017, Cloudflare Optimizing Content Delivery For At Least 48 Hate Sites Across Europe.

This fits a pattern for SPLC that I have addressed its “hate” lists many times over the years. SPLC’s political bias and how it uses the lists to drive an anti-conservative agenda and fundraise.

Most recently, in my post Southern Poverty Law Center “extremist” lists used “to silence speech and speakers”, I discussed a very important Politico Magazine article in which I was quoted, Has a Civil Rights Stalwart Lost Its Way?

William Jacobson, a law professor at Cornell and critic of the SPLC, says the group has wrapped itself in the mantle of the civil rights struggle to engage in partisan political crusading. “Time and again, I see the SPLC using the reputation it gained decades ago fighting the Klan as a tool to bludgeon mainstream politically conservative opponents,” he says. “For groups that do not threaten violence, the use of SPLC ‘hate group’ or ‘extremist’ designations frequently are exploited as an excuse to silence speech and speakers,” Jacobson adds. “It taints not only the group or person, but others who associate with them.”

The Anti-Defamation League also has gotten into the business of “hate” lists, From Alt Right to Alt Lite: Naming the Hate. The ADL list is particularly pernicious because of the use of the term and listing of “Alt Lite,” as Haaretz reported:

Right-wing activists who have tried to distance themselves from the white nationalist “alt-right” movement have slammed the Anti-Defamation League after it included them on a list Tuesday of extreme conservatives it says disseminate hatred.

“The ADL is trying to get my family murdered,” tweeted Mike Cernovich, who is part of the so-called alt-lite (or “New Right”) movement. “There is no reason to add me to a hate list,” he added in a video he posted online.

The ADL defined the alt-lite as a “loosely connected movement of right-wing activists who reject the overtly white supremacist ideology of the alt-right, but whose hateful impact is more significant than their ‘lite’ name suggests.”

On a personal note, it’s disheartening to see ADL move in this direction. A worthy organization focused on combating anti-Semitism increasingly is becoming a political player in the anti-Trump resistance. I suppose that was inevitable after Jonathan Greenblatt, a former Obama assistant, took over.  Great damage has been done to ADL’s non-partisan credibility.

In another important development this weekend, involving the left-leaning ProPublica research group, funded heavily by left-wing donors like Herbert and Marion Sandler and Soro-related entities. ProPublica took SPLC’s hate list, and also a private list provided to it by ADL, and used those lists to run internet algorithms to ferret out sources of revenue for the supposed “hate” groups.

ProPublica described its methodology, including the recognition that the “hate” lists were subjective and disputed, How We Investigated Technology Companies Supporting Hate Sites:

Deciding what constitutes a hate or extremist website is a difficult and subjective task. To develop our list, we sought counsel from the leading organizations that track extremism in the United States — The Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League.

We relied in part on the 2016 list of “Active Hate Groups” published by the SPLC in February. It tracks ten types of hate groups: Ku Klux Klan, Neo-Nazi, White Nationalist, Racist Skinhead, Christian Identity, Neo-Confederate, Black Separatist, Anti-LGBT, Anti-Muslim and General Hate.

The SPLC list is controversial in some circles, but the group does provide detailed public explanations for many of its designations. For instance, the SPLC documented its decision to include the Family Research Council, an evangelical lobbying group, on its list by citing the group’s reliance on discredited science and unsubstantiated attacks on gay and lesbian people.

We supplemented the SPLC list with a list of top extremist websites provided to us by the Anti-Defamation League. The ADL does not publish this list and supplied it to us for research purposes…..

[After screening for only sites with meaningful traffic] We then wrote software to automatically browse to each website and collect a list of external domains contacted by each website.

ProPublica may have more in store, but this weekend rolled out its investigation into Robert Spencer’s anti-Jihad website, Jihad Watch, Despite Disavowals, Leading Tech Companies Help Extremist Sites Monetize Hate

Because of its “extreme hostility toward Muslims,” the website Jihadwatch.org is considered an active hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League. The views of the site’s director, Robert Spencer, on Islam led the British Home Office to ban him from entering the country in 2013.

But its designation as a hate site hasn’t stopped tech companies — including PayPal, Amazon and Newsmax — from maintaining partnerships with Jihad Watch that help to sustain it financially. PayPal facilitates donations to the site. Newsmax — the online news network run by President Donald Trump’s close friend Chris Ruddy — pays Jihad Watch in return for users clicking on its headlines. Until recently, Amazon allowed Jihad Watch to participate in a program that promised a cut of any book sales that the site generated. All three companies have policies that say they don’t do business with hate groups.

[See Spencer denial below.]

ProPublica then reached out to the three sources of revenue for Jihad Watch. When an entity like ProPublica makes such a contact, and inquires as to why the groups still are sources of revenue, it’s not just a contact, it’s an intimidation move.

Spencer, on his own website, called out ProPublica even before the article ran, Leftist “journalist” Lauren Kirchner of ProPublica threatens Jihad Watch:

The Left is mounting an all-out assault against the freedom of speech, and using Charlottesville to try to crush all dissent. I received this email today. I know also that Lauren Kirchner has sent it to other counter-jihad sites as well….

[Question in Email followed by Spencer answer]

1) Do you disagree with the designation of your website as hate or extremist? Why?

Yes, certainly I do. For years, Leftists and Muslim groups with numerous ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood have smeared as “hate” all attempts to speak honestly about the motivating ideology behind jihad terrorism. In reality, it is not hateful, racist or extremist to oppose jihad terror, and the claim that it is [is] not only libelous but insidious: the intent has clearly been to intimidate people into thinking it wrong to oppose jihad terror, and it has worked, as illustrated by the neighbors of the San Bernardino jihad murderers, who saw suspicious activity at their home but didn’t report them for fear of being “racist.”

2) We identified several tech companies on your website: PayPal, Amazon, Newsmax, and Revcontent. Can you confirm that you receive funds from your relationship with those tech companies? How would the loss of those funds affect your operations, and how would you be able to replace them?

The intent of your questions, and no doubt of your forthcoming article, will be to try to compel these sites to cut off any connection with us based on our opposition to jihad terror. Are you comfortable with what you’re enabling? Not only are you inhibiting honest analysis of the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat, but you’re aiding the attempt to deny people a platform based on their political views. This could come back to bite you if your own views ever fall out of favor. Have you ever lived in a totalitarian state, where the powerful determine the parameters of the public discourse and cut off all voice from the powerless? Do you really want to live in one now? You might find, once you get there, that it isn’t as wonderful as you thought it would be.

3) Have you been shut down by other tech companies for being an alleged hate or extremist web site? Which companies?

No. This is a new thing. First came the ridiculous claim that opposing jihad terror was “hate,” and now comes the other shoe dropping: the attempt to cut out the ground from under the feet of those who “hate.” You can only hope that you aren’t similarly defamed one day; perhaps if that does happen, you will realize (too late) why the freedom of speech is an indispensable element of a free society.

4) Many people opposed to sites like yours are currently pressuring tech companies to cease their relationships with them – what is your view of this campaign? Why?

Nazis will be Nazis. Fascists will be fascists. Today they call themselves “Antifa” and the like, but they’re acting just like Hitler’s Brownshirts did, when they shouted down and assaulted anti-Nazi speakers. Now the violent thugs work in a more genteel fashion: they just pull the Internet plug on those they hate. You, Lauren Kirchner, are aiding and abetting a quintessentially fascist enterprise. Authoritarianism in service of any cause leads to a slave society despite the best intentions of those who helped usher it in.

In a separate post, Spencer indicates PayPal has dropped Jihad Watch:

First came the SPLC’s claim, uncritically accepted by the establishment media, that it was an impartial and reliable arbiter of what constituted a “hate group” and what didn’t. Then came the defaming of opposition to jihad terror as “hate.” And PayPal has dropped Jihad Watch, and more of this kind of thing is sure to come soon — and not just to Jihad Watch, but even to many for whom Jihad Watch is “controversial” for standing against jihad terror and Sharia oppression.

ProPublica, in its article about Jihad Watch, acknowledged the problem with using these lists to shut down revenue sources:

Where to set the boundaries between hate speech and legitimate advocacy for perspectives on the edge of the political spectrum, and who should set them, are complex and difficult questions. Like other media outlets, we relied in part on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s public list of “Active Hate Groups 2016.” This list is controversial in some circles, with critics questioning whether the SPLC is too quick to brand organizations on the right as hate groups.

Still, the center does provide detailed explanations for many of its designations. For instance, the SPLC documents its decision to include the Family Research Council by citing the evangelical lobbying group’s promotion of discredited science and unsubstantiated attacks on gay and lesbian people. We also consulted a list from ADL, which is not public and that was provided to us for research purposes. See our methodology here.

The sites that we identified from the ADL and SPLC lists vehemently denied that they are hate sites

Note that there is no claim that Jihad Watch advocates any form of violence or illegality. This would be a very different situation, for example, if Jihad Watch were a Jihadi website that advised people on how to make bombs or carry out attacks. We are talking about ideas, not weapons.

SPLC, presumably ADL, and ProPublica just don’t like Robert Spencer’s opinions about the practice of Islamism and Jihad. Yet as we have seen in other contexts, rather than winning the war of ideas, they seek to stifle free speech and, in this case, dry up sources of revenue for their political opponents….

BLM leader to white people: Give up your homes and property, call police on ‘racists,’ get them fired

In an article posted at Leo Weekly this month, Chanelle Helm, a self-described “cofounder and core organizer of Black Lives Matter Louisville,” offered a list of 10 requests for white people.  Among them: Whites should give up their homes to black or brown people and should report “racists” to police and get them fired.

Here’s just some of what she suggested:

1. White people, if you don’t have any descendants, will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably one that lives in generational poverty.

2. White people, if you’re inheriting property you intend to sell upon acceptance, give it to a black or brown family. You’re bound to make that money in some other white privileged way.

3. If you are a developer or realty owner of multi-family housing, build a sustainable complex in a black or brown blighted neighborhood and let black and brown people live in it for free.

4. White people, if you can afford to downsize, give up the home you own to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

5. White people, if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists a**holes, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.

Got that?  Never mind that the white people she’s targeting have worked their entire lives, scrimped and saved to own those homes.

But there’s more.  Much more (Edited for language):

6. White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing.

7. White people, especially white women (because this is yaw specialty — Nosey Jenny and Meddling Kathy), get a racist fired. Yaw know what the f**k they be saying. You are complicit when you ignore them. Get your boss fired cause they racist too.

8. Backing up No. 7, this should be easy but all those sheetless Klan, Nazi’s and Other lil’ d**k-white men will all be returning to work. Get they a*s fired. Call the police even: they look suspicious.

9. OK, backing up No. 8, if any white person at your work, or as you enter in spaces and you overhear a white person praising the actions from yesterday, first, get a pic. Get their name and more info. Hell, find out where they work — Get Them Fired. But certainly address them, and, if you need to, you got hands: use them.

10. Commit to two things: Fighting white supremacy where and how you can (this doesn’t mean taking up knitting, unless you’re making scarves for black and brown kids in need), and funding black and brown people and their work.

So let’s boil this down, shall we?

Helm thinks white people should just give up their belongings, get people fired because they’re racists (whether they really are or not doesn’t matter — they’re white, so they’re racists) and if that doesn’t work, engage in physical violence.

The Daily Caller observed:

This list of requests may seem strange, but it fits an increasingly common thread among left-wing activists, many of whom insist that the only way to properly address historical racism is through reparations.

Reparations for slavery and historical oppression, once a relatively fringe idea among American liberals, has gained increasing support in recent years.

In one story from this June, a group at the University of Chicago demanded reparations, writing, “Black people do not need a seat at the university’s reparations table. They need to own that table and have full control over how reparations are structured.”

We’ve got a better idea.  Helm and her ilk should get an education, learn a trade, work their fingers to the bone and earn a living instead of demanding everything be handed to them.

Keep in mind these are the same kind of people now engaged in a war on history and statues across the country.

Charlottesville and Boston Prove America Doesn’t Need Barbarians to Crash Its Gates; They’re Already Inside

As America once again picks up the rubble from one of its regularly scheduled race riots, the hatred and anger felt by the participants is spreading throughout the country. Black/White Left/Right division is now at one of the highest levels in recent years, again drawing Presidential commentary and endless coverage in the mainstream corporate press.

Social media is on fire with every inflammatory opinion one can imagine. All social ills are being placed on the shoulders of whites, blacks, Democrats, Republicans, and people long dead. Today, lines are being drawn between racial groups, political identities, and genders; and the average person doesn’t have a say in the matter, those lines are being drawn for them. At times, they are drawn by the media, other times by radical fanatics in the street hurling insults, fists, and feces at anyone who dares disagree or even dares not to agree with them. They are also drawn by the average American themselves, glued to their television screens and subjected to the “other” dealing verbal abuse and violence on the “us.”

Everyone is either denouncing white supremacy, white racism, and Nazis; or they are bashing Commies, blacks, and anyone on the left. Everyone is joining their “team” and preparing for battle, as if some racial or ideological coup will result in the betterment of their situation. Keyboard commandos are typing away that if the “us” can rid ourselves of the “other” we will somehow reach a new utopia. Fanatical ideologues from both the left and the right are in the streets preaching the same message.

Donald Trump has a role to play in this but it’s not what you think. Trump, whatever he may be, has been linked with white supremacy, white nationalism, and general racism when nothing in his campaign or his presidency has ever suggested that this is the case … The “left” in America immediately linked Trump with the Unite the Right Activists and demanded that he condemn only the right wing troublemakers. Trump, to his credit, denounced racism, hatred, and violence on both sides. For the “left,” however, that was not enough. Nothing is ever enough. Trump had to call out only whites and right wingers or he is a Nazi.

As a result of political pressure – itself a result of insanity and culture creation – Trump finally condemned the white protest groups and only the white protest groups, announcing a violation of the First and probably the Fourth Amendment should his new policy be taken to its logical conclusion. But that was not enough for the “left” because, like flag worship and worship of military “service” on the right, nothing is ever enough. But it might be enough to initiate an impeachment proceeding at some point in the future if he goes ahead with plans to target participants. Once again, it looks like Trump has been routed by the Deep State. Expect more foreign policy aggression and more domestic oppression in the very near future as the Deep State grabs the wheel and helps Trump keep it between the lines.

There are a number of questionable aspects to this event that should make people take a step back and think hard about what is happening here. The police, despite the violence and despite expecting the violence, stood down and let it continue. The car crasher narrative is full of fishy details such as his actual connection to white nationalist groups and a personal history that might raise red flags. Many white nationalist activists were not only from out of state but of questionable loyalties (from the point of view of the group itself) and Antifa had a very well-coordinated presence. Both sides were stacked with bodies from outside of Charlottesville.

And then came Boston. Once seen as the city where the concept that would be considered free speech was birthed, it may now be the city in which free speech comes to die. After all, it was recently the scene of 40,000 protesters who came to march against the concept of free speech itself, claiming free speech is just a cover for “Nazism.”

Ironically, most of the participants in the counter-rally in Boston were just typical Democrats and “leftists” who put about as much effort into research as one does choosing a breakfast cereal from the cabinet. Reading emotional headlines on Facebook about the Free Speech Rally which was really a gathering of scary “fascists,” “Nazis,” and “White Supremacists,” these individuals rushed out to save the world from non-violent demonstration and expression. Of course, the event was not a white supremacist rally; it was a rally to re-affirm the concept of free speech. It had individuals from every walk of life, race, gender, and political ideology. Black Lives Matter was invited to speak, but BLM refused to do so. Instead, BLM joined Antifa and other violent groups to attack the participants and engage in violence to make sure that free speech, not racist ideologies, is put back in the closet. No doubt most of the participants in the counter-protest thought they were fighting Nazis and the KKK. Antifa and BLM, however, were there to fight free speech.

It’s also ironic that so many radicalized leftists are now arguing that “free speech is just a cover for Nazism” and warn against the dangers of becoming a “free speech fetishist.” If this doesn’t solidify a person’s position as an enemy of free people, I don’t know what will.

There’s nothing like seeing a young lesbian being labeled a bigot and symbol of “Nazi hate.” There’s nothing like seeing a self-described “radical feminist” from the ’60s being shouted down as a “Nazi” by a man proclaiming to be fighting for “women’s rights.” Watching the live stream, I saw this very “radical feminist from the ’60s” trying to reason with unreasonable people, pointing out that, without free speech, she would never have been able to speak out for her cause decades ago. She was immediately decried as a fascist by the very group of people who are trying to eliminate her right to free speech. Is this not a hallmark of fascism? This level of cognitive dissonance is scarcely conceivable.

In another example of cognitive dissonance, the radicals of the “revolutionary left” claim that “free speech” is cover for Nazism and, since Nazism killed 6-14 million people, free speech should not be allowed in their case. However, following that logic, shouldn’t we prioritize banning the free speech of Antifa and BLM? After all, Communism killed at least 150 million people in two countries alone. Wouldn’t Communism then be the greater danger?

Obviously, free speech is free speech. So long as speech doesn’t become an overt act of violence (saying we should do something is different from actually doing it) or restriction of rights, etc., it must be allowed and protected. This is the case for BLM, Communists, flag burners and, yes, even Nazis. Freedom of Speech is the most basic human and civil right. It is the last line of defense for anyone with a grievance and for any oppressed minority. It must be protected and defended at all costs.

What is clear, though, is that Love did not Trump Hate in Boston. Hate and Fascism Trumped Freedom and Free Speech . . .

So congratulations to all the protesters who flooded the streets to protest free speech and have the most basic of human rights dismantled. You have made yourself the enemy of free people and of oppressed minorities everywhere.

Make no mistake, the events in Charlottesville and Boston are only the beginning of what is coming to America. This is not the result of two opposing sides at the grassroots; it is the Hegelian dialectic playing out once again, and the American people, true to form, are falling for it. Out of this problem, we have already seen the reaction and, soon, we will see a solution. Of course, that solution will come from the top down. I, personally, am convinced that these marches, rallies, and events have been carefully constructed to achieve an ultimate goal. The overwhelming majority of white supremacist groups have long been infiltrated and controlled by agents of the federal government, and there is scarcely a leftist group that can survive longer than two weeks without a paycheck from George Soros.

America is falling apart at the seams. It may soon become an unlivable country. As its empire continues to spread across the world and as the once most powerful economy on the face of the earth continues to hemorrhage jobs, the junk heap of infrastructure that was once the envy of the world is now the scene of skirmishes between increasingly radicalized people, hyped up on political and racial ideology, gender issues, sexuality, and religion. Unlike Rome, America won’t need Barbarians to crash its gates. They’re already inside.

The country that baptized itself in blood from the very beginning and has created entire generations of bloodthirsty citizens will then see the chickens of war and collapse come home to roost. President Trump is holding a rally in Pheonix on Tuesday, and leftist groups are already trying to cause trouble. Fourteen groups are going to protest the rally, and have urged others to book free tickets to attend so that the arena seats are empty.

But, Washington Times reports, those protestors didn,t count on one thing- bikers. Bikers for Trump,s Arizona Cobra Chapter put out a call to action to its member,s saying:

“Donald Trump is coming to the Phoenix Convention Center to hold a rally. There have been plans for Charlottesville sympathizers to protest. We need our bikers to show up and keep people safe.”

“They are supposed to start at 6:00. We think we need to be there by at least 4:00. That is when the doors open. If there are people outside waiting to get in, we don’t want anyone to harass them. Protesters have a right to protest, but they don’t have a right to threaten or intimidate. That is why we need to be there.”

Image result for bikers

The groups that plan on protesting the convention center include: the Democratic Socialists of Phoenix, Arizona Resist, Desert Progressives, Students for a Democratic Society, Puente Arizona, and Cosplayers Against Hate.

These bikers are TOUGH, and they’re not going to be a great line of defense against the creepy and dangerous (alt-left) protestors And before the leftists start crying white supremacy’ here’s a video of the group condemning hate…

I’d feel pretty good going to the rally knowing these guys were on my side!

Wake Up: The Trump Revolution Is Over

Wake Up: The Trump Revolution Is Over

( First thing this not Trump's revolution, it is the AMERICAN PEOPLES REVOLUTION AND WE ARE BY NO MEANS DONE !IT IS NOT OVER WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED  WE THE PEOPLE  WILL DEAL WITH DEEP STATE! !!! )

Principles for a free society

In late August 2009, there was not a single office of a single agency within a single department of the Obama administration that was not inexorably committed to the former president’s transformational agenda. Fast-forward eight years, and there is almost no agency within the Trump administration that is committed to the principles of the supposed Trump agenda or at least the underlying expectation motivating those who cast their ballots for the Donald.

With the firing of Steve Bannon, there is now not a single potent force countering the Obama deep state and Trump’s liberal “shallow state” of appointees. The Trump revolution has been eclipsed. And unlike the solar eclipse, the duration of the “totality” will not be limited to a few minutes; it appears to be terminal. Personnel is policy.

Steve Bannon was a controversial figure even among many conservatives. However, while he was not a traditional conservative, he did recognize the need to engage in mortal combat against the corrosive mentality of the political elites. He was the only bulwark against the liberal appointees who guided Trump leftward and contradicted all of his campaign promises. With Bannon out of the administration, the last anti-establishment voice will be gone. Prepare for the complete takeover of the West Wing engineered by Jared Kushner and the other New York Democrats. With congressional Republicans and the broader party structure already completely divorced from conservatism, the death of the Trump administration should serve as the final nail in the coffin for those who believed the GOP could ever serve as a vehicle for positive change.

Some of us predicted this outcome a long time ago. We knew that, although Trump’s rhetoric tapped into the deep disquiet of those who felt betrayed by the conventional party leaders, his lack of principles, character flaws, and personal connections to leftists would turn his administration into the very essence of what voters rejected when they pulled the lever for the unconventional candidate. I take no pride in being proven right about Trump. The important thing at this point is for everyone to recognize the reality of this administration and unite to form a new movement, one that is built upon principle and guided by those who will place those principles first.

From time to time, Trump will continue to tantalize us with his tweets, rhetoric, and campaign-style rallies, channeling our indictments of the political class or professing some of our deeply held beliefs. But given the personnel in his administration, the policy outcomes will almost never match his rhetoric in any meaningful way. His administration has become part of the muck in the swamp.

Conservatives now stand at a crossroads. We can expend all our resources and political capital on playing defense and defending every scandal, fake scandal, and rhetorical dust-up in this administration because we hate the media and the Democrats. We can take solace in “but Gorsuch,” “but Hillary,” and “at least we’re fighting the media,” or we can take our destiny into our own hands and declare independence from all of this nonsense, standing on our own principles. It’s time to start a new movement and a new party, built upon fresh ideas on federalism, the role of the courts, health care reform, a balanced foreign policy placing America’s interests first, a stable civil society, and protecting our national sovereignty.

At some point, those who saddled us with Trump in the presidential primary need to understand that this is not just about the company the president keeps. It’s about the man himself. Everything is personal with him. This has nothing to do with a revolution, certainly not an American-style revolution. This is why he has no problem hiring and maintaining swamp creatures. And according to Axios, these liberal figures plan on staying long-term because they know they will control the policy outcomes.

To be clear, I maintain the same position I’ve espoused for two years — that Trump is not the problem; it’s just that he won’t be the solution. And in spectacular fashion, overshadowing the absurdity depicted in Animal Farm, his revolution has morphed into the very swamp it claimed to be draining.

But unlike Republican opponents of Trump, many of us recognize that while the Trump administration is irreparably broken, the broader party long ago became irremediably broken as well. We are not one election of Marco Rubio or Ben Sasse away from healing the party. This party will never work for us.

Some might think that following the Obamacare betrayal, there will be a revolution during next year’s primaries. Not so. Aside from Judge Roy Moore, every conservative candidate has failed to win, and they will continue to fail because the establishment candidates use their superior fire power to lie and run on our issues. Just last week, a de facto Democrat won a conservative Utah district because the state has essentially nullified its convention system. I’ve explained before why using the Utah convention model is the only way to win enough seats to transform the party from within. Yet now, even Utah gutted its convention system and allowed a liberal to overturn the results of a convention with a primary.

Primaries are all about money and name ID, which is why our founders didn’t trust direct democracy and preferred representative republicanism embodied in a convention. That was the system that persisted in party primaries until Teddy Roosevelt and the progressives changed it. It’s no coincidence that in 2016, Ted Cruz won all the conventions and Trump won most of the primaries. Name ID is everything.

We are stuck with this failed system that ensures the Republican Party is irreparable. When Trump says things we agree with, by all means go and defend him. But just understand that it’s extremely unlikely his administration will actually follow through with those policies, and even if he tries, he’ll be thwarted by an even more perfidious party leadership.

This is why we must abandon this dumpster fire and chart a path to a new party. There is no silver bullet. This will take a huge amount of hard work. Between growing the Federalist Party, going forward with the Convention of States, and electing people on the Republican line who will have zero allegiance to the party, we can prepare for an opportune moment to break out onto the political scene when it presents itself.

If, by the next solar eclipse in 2024, we are still debating Republicans and Democrats, we will long since have crossed the point of return, at which there’s nothing left over which to fight. BBC: “Is our response to grooming gangs racist?”

( Muslims do not assimilate! They infiltrate! )

Remember: this kind of thinking is what enabled the Muslim rape gangs in the first place. One Muslim rape gang victim said that when she went to authorities, “I was made to feel as though I was racist.” And 1,400 British non-Muslim children were gang-raped and brutalized by Muslims in Rotherham, and “several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so.”

But the BBC stays the course, and is as determined as it ever was to demonize all opposition to jihad terror and Sharia criminality (which is what this rape gang activity is, as the Qur’an sanctions the seizure of Infidel women as sex slaves — see 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30) as “racist.” The BBC apparently wants to see the destruction of Britain as a free state. And it will.

Armed forces will patrol streets in armoured vehicles

( Muslims do not assimilate! They infiltrate! )

This is war, but unlike any other war in history. The genocidal ideology and doctrine is never spoken of, and if it is, it must be spoke of with respect and deference. Enemies of the genocidal ideology are targeted for smear and defamation. Adherents to the ideology are given special class status and protections from phantoms and bogeymen that have been created out of whole cloth.

Tanks in the streets is war. Against whom? Against what? Stay quiet!

It because they “stayed quiet” and silenced any candid discussion of Islam that the war is in the streets and in their homes. It is because they have banned me from the UK (and Robert Spencer as well) that the war is in the homeland. It is because they have welcomed immigrants from jihad regions that the war is in their streets and in their homes.

It is understood that a list of locations in London and around the UK thought to be the most likely targets for jihadi is being finalised. This is likely to include airports and major sports stadiums. “The terrorists are also thought to be planning a ‘triple tap’ attack – three incidents either simultaneously or shortly afterwards but in the same vicinity,” added the source.

Special forces will protect UK’s bank holiday revellers: Elite troops will patrol in armoured vehicles to protect Britons from ISIS attacks

Heavily-armed Special Forces soldiers driving specially adapted and armoured civilian vehicles will patrol Britain’s streets in a bid to thwart an Islamic State atrocity over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Security sources disclosed last night that elite troops will mingle with revellers and tourists at sites considered most at risk of a terrorist attack. But the male and female personnel will remain incognito unless called upon to intercept any jihadis.

A security source told The Mail on Sunday last night: ‘They will be casually dressed with their weapons hidden beneath their clothes. They won’t be in traditional military vehicles either.

A girl has her photo taken with Armed Police at V Festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire

‘Recently, a company of Special Forces Support Group troops completed a live firing exercise using Civilian Armoured Vehicles and they will be called upon.

‘These are regular cars but with special adaptations such as armour-plated doors and reinforced bullet-proof windows to assist them in an urban close quarter battle scenario,’ the source added.

‘The other troops who have been called up for the Bank Holiday Weekend include personnel from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, who are experts in undercover operations.’

It is understood a list of locations in London and around the UK thought to be the most likely targets for IS is being finalised. This is likely to include airports and major sports stadiums.

‘The terrorists are also thought to be planning a ‘triple tap’ attack – three incidents either simultaneously or shortly afterwards but in the same vicinity,’ added the source.

The Ministry of Defence declined to comment last night.

Canada: Muslima who screamed “I’m going to kill everybody” and attacked non-Muslims with golf club says she accepts only Sharia, not Canadian law

( Muslims do not assimilate! They infiltrate! )

It isn’t just Rehab Dughmosh: Islam teaches this kind of supremacism, and the superiority of sharia over all “manmade” law. That means that there will be much more of this, and many more Muslims besides Rehab Dughmosh who deny the authority of the nation’s laws over them. What will governing authorities do then?

“Accused terror-attacker refuses to attend court,” by Kevin Connor, Toronto Sun, August 15, 2017 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A woman who openly pledged allegiance to ISIS refused to leave her prison cell Tuesday to attend court.

Rehab Dughmosh — who faces 21 charges, including terror-related offences — allegedly entered a Scarborough Canadian Tire store on June 3 and swung a golf club at staff.

“I’m here for Syria. I’m going to kill everybody,” she allegedly shouted.

Dughmosh, 32, has told court in the past she only believes in Sharia law and not the Canadian justice system. She also refused to show up for court last month.

On Tuesday, she would not leave her cell to attend court at 1911 Eglinton Ave. E., and court guards can’t use force to remove a prisoner from her confines without an order issued by a judge, said federal Crown attorney Bradley Reitz….

Grant added Dughmosh also needs an assessment to determine her fitness for trial.

“Her mental health needs to be addressed,” Grant said.

During a previous court appearance, Dughmosh told court that she “meant to harm those people” during the Canadian Tire store attack.

She also said she would do it “again and again.”

Can You Feel It? America Thrust Into Spiritual Darkness

What happened in Charlottesville last week was disgusting. Our hearts grieved as we watched folks marching in our streets who actually believe their race is better than others’. No one should have anything to do with that filth from Satan’s floor.

So this rally that took place ran against every grain of our being . . .

And since then, all the lawless insanity that has followed – including the media’s huge power grab to lump men and women of faith in with these supremacist nut jobs – is grieving, too.

Hearing Antifa (the hard left fringe group fomenting much of the violence) call for an escalation in tactics to stop Republicans or right-wingers from assembling or voicing their opinions is crazy. Antifa activists even labeled right-leaning speech violence, and now say they have a right to use self-defense or physical violence in return.

The bottom line is, it doesn’t matter if it’s the “alt-right” (white supremacists) or hard-left (Antifa), any American with a soul abhors these groups. But what these groups – and the ongoing conflict we’re watching daily now – reveal to us is that we as a nation have entered a period of spiritual darkness, a darkness that can be felt. Antifa Protester Says Violence Against the Far-Right Is Totally Fine

Yvette Felarca, the Berkeley area school teacher and militant left-wing protester responsible for organizing the riot at the University of California, Berkeley in February 2017, claims that violence against the far-right is “not a crime.”

Felarca, who belongs to “By Any Means Necessary,” a far-left group, is currently facing assault charges after she was caught on video assaulting a white supremacist during a July 2016 rally in Sacramento, Cali.

The school teacher and her compatriots engaged in violent clashes against members of the far-right Traditional Worker’s Party, which had a permit to march in the city. The violence between the two groups resulted in a number of assaults and multiple stabbings. In July 2017, police charged Felarca with “assault by means of force likely to inflict great bodily injury, participating in a riot, and inciting a riot.”

As reported by Huffington Post on Wednesday during her arraignment, Felarca described her actions as a form of self-defense, and therefore “not a crime.” (Read more from “Antifa Protester Says Violence Against the Far-Right Is Totally Fine” HERE) http://joemiller.us/2017/08/antifa-protester-says-violence-far-right-totally-fine/

BREAKING: Antifa Issues Horrifying Demand To U.S. Citizens

BREAKING: Antifa Issues Horrifying Demand To U.S. Citizens

( MY FELLOW VETERANS AND MILITIA WE HAVE A DOMESTIC THREAT TO OUR PEOPLE AND OUR CONSTITUTION AND OUR FREEDOM! ANSWER THE CALL NOW ORGANIZE YOURSELVES TRAIN TO MEET THE THREAT !!! This GOVERNMENT HAS SHOWN US THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PROTECT US THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY ,TOLD LAW ENFORCE TO STAND DOWN!!!
Principles for a FREE SOCIETY

There has been much debate over President Trump’s statement last Sunday when he condemned all hate groups including the KKK, Nazis, and Antifa. Now, Antifa has gone above and beyond to prove the president’s point. According to their Facebook page, the Facebook group Boston Antifa sent a stern message to everyone in Boston. “There is no room for capitalists, conservatives, libertarians, ‘classical liberals’ or supporters of the US Constitution in our city. You MUST leave. #BostonResist.” There you have it, folks, it couldn’t be any more clear than this message. https://www.teaparty.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/capture20170820150851359-122x136.png 122w, https://www.teaparty.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/capture20170820150851359-270x300.png 270w" sizes="(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px" /> Make no mistake — this group does not support “freedom” in any sense of the word. The mere fact that they are willing to say that supporters of the U.S. Constitution should be dead is all you need to hear. This group wants to see pure chaos in the streets, and they are doing everything they can to push this agenda onto the American public. Luckily, many are aware of how diabolical these people are, and know that they must be stopped. In an effort to push the wedge even against Liberals, they also took to Twitter to say, “Let’s get one thing clear. Antifa is an Anarcho-Communist cause. Those on the left who call us ‘patriots,’ step the F*** away. #BostonResist.” Make no mistake, these people want to see the destruction of our beautiful country at any cost. Sadly, the Left still believes that Antifa is their “saving grace” against Trump, and they don’t even know why. The mainstream media has been hailing Antifa as the “resistance” movement, and in most cases paint them as left-wingers who want to see the downfall of the president. Their latest messages show that their beliefs on Antifa are almost entirely false. Luckily, many Americans are aware of the threat that Antifa poses to our country. A recent poll, explained by Town Hall, shows that 40 percent of the country blames “both sides” equally for the violence in Charlottesville. Nine percent blame Antifa more for bringing the violence to the protest. There is no doubt that the media would be shocked to discover that their narrative has been systematically destroyed by the American people. It doesn’t matter how many times the mainstream media repeats a statement — that doesn’t make the statement true. What this boils down to is the fact that Americans do not think the same as the “opinion leaders,” as Town Hall calls them, in our country. The majority of hardworking Americans see a serious problem with the anti-fascist group. Antifa members have been working around the clock to silence the rest of the country in any way that they can. Ironically enough, the “anti-fascist” group wants to silence other people’s thoughts by threatening them with violence. You have to wonder if the irony escapes them, or if they just don’t care. There is no doubt that we have not seen the last of this group. In fact, let’s call them what they are, a hate group. They can try to silence the real patriots of this country, but people are starting to wake up to the insanity that they are preaching.

Antifa Brags About Being Anti-American, Burning Flag — Then They Get Hammered On Twitter

By Terresa Monroe-Hamilton | Aug 21, 2017

The mask has finally peeled off for good. Communist Antifa is not even trying to hide what they are anymore and the media, the Democratic Party and the entire left have merged with them. Boston Antifa is the most blatant faction so far. A small group of conservatives showed up at a freedom rally over the weekend. In response, over 15,000 leftists, communists, radicals, Black Lives Matter and Antifa goons marched in the streets and got their violence on with cops, throwing bottles full of urine, rocks and soda cans filled with cement.

Boston Antifa took to Twitter to brag: “Let’s get one thing clear. Antifa is an Anarcho-Communist cause. Those on the left who call us “patriots”, step the F**K away.” And another post that was sent to me this weekend: “There is no room for capitalists, conservatives, libertarians, “classical liberals” or supporters of the US constitution in our city. You MUST leave. #BostonResist.” Pretty clear huh? I’d say this has moved beyond a cultural war now to a war in the streets of our cities.

From TheBlaze:

A social media page claiming to belong to an Antifa faction in Boston tht bragged about being an “anarcho-communist” group while bashing patriotism has been widely rebuked online.

“Let’s get one thing clear. Antifa is an Anarcho-Communist cause. Those on the left who call us “patriots”, step the F**K away,” the group tweeted Saturday with an image of them burning an American flag.

Antifa1

The comment came as thousands of protesters gathered in Boston to demonstrate against white supremacism. The day included violence clashes between far-left protesters, such as Antifa, and police.

The group was extremely clear about their views in subsequent tweets.

“No room for capitalists, conservatives, libertarians, “classical liberals” or supporters of the US constitution in our city. #BostonResist,” they wrote in one.

“Support we’ve received from Hillary Democrats has been new but great. Let’s keep Nazis at bay together. #BostonFreeSpeech #BostonResist,” they wrote in another, which included a video showing the group burning and stomping an American flag.

Antifa would protect free speech by silencing it. The communists are now out in full force. They will proceed to call every conservative rally now white supremacy even though it isn’t. It is a tactic to silence all of us and it must not succeed. The Antifa flag is either a takeoff on a Nazi flag or a communist one. They originated in Nazi Germany. Nothing says anti-fascist like burning the flag of the country that defeated fascists by the way. Antifa are communists, make no mistake about it. Both Antifa and white supremacy groups are leftists and I would not put it past them to be collaborating to bring America down. Careful what you believe out there.

Twitter hammered the group and rightly so. These are cowardly terrorists trying to intimidate and cow the Republic and all Americans. Many are paid, all are useful idiots for the communists. Russia also trains certain factions of Antifa as well. Many of those are deployed in Europe. You will find Soros money behind these groups. They are stunning hypocrites, guilty of massive racism and hate. You cannot gain peace through violence. It never works that way. Both communism and Nazism are deeply evil and should be eradicated. They have resulted in the deaths of millions and the enslavement of millions more. Boston… you need an intervention in your streets.

PAYPAL Suspends Jihad Watch After ProPublica Hit Piece Against Anti-Jihad News Sites #BoycottPaypal

Yesterday I published an exchange I had with a Lauren Kirchner, young Hitler-youth type of journalist from ProPublica, an uber-left non-profit, threatening advertisers and payment services that were found on my site. I was not the only target, other counter jihad sites received this vicious “interview request” as well. Jihad Watch, former Muslim Ali Sina, Bare Naked Islam were also targeted.

Today, Paypal suspended Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch account.

Anyone the left calls a Nazi is now shunned, ruined — their livelihood murdered.

Paypal should be boycotted. I will be moving all of my accounts off Paypal.

Here is what Robert received from Paypal.

RE: Notice of PayPal Account Limitation

The SPLC lumps legitimate groups in with real hate groups in order to defame its political foes, but PayPal allowed no discussion, no appeal. It acted as judge, jury, and executioner.

In reality, I oppose jihad mass murder. PayPal apparently thinks that makes me a “hatemonger.” I oppose the murder of people who decide in conscience to leave Islam. PayPal thinks that makes me a “right-wing extremist.” I oppose honor killings, female genital mutilation, scripturally-sanctioned wife-beating, etc. PayPal thinks that means I am too hateful to use their service.

So: if you support the work of Jihad Watch, close your PayPal account now. Contact them and tell them why. Tell all your friends that PayPal has bowed to Left-fascism, and to boycott it.

And please help us keep going: donate at Stripe.com to director@jihadwatch.org. Your donation helps me appear at worthy events that can’t fund my appearance, and keeps our website operating.

The Left is moving in for the kill now and trying to delegitimize and silence all voices of dissent. Don’t allow this rapidly creeping totalitarianism to succeed.

Here is the vicious, defamatory ProPublica story.

Despite Disavowals, Leading Tech Companies Help Extremist Sites Monetize Hate

Most tech companies have policies against working with hate websites. Yet a ProPublica survey found that PayPal, Stripe, Newsmax and others help keep more than half of the most-visited extremist sites in business.

Jihad Watch is one of many sites that monetize their extremist views through relationships with technology companies. ProPublica surveyed the most visited websites of groups designated as extremist by either the SPLC or the Anti-Defamation League. We found that more than half of them — 39 out of 69 — made money from ads, donations or other revenue streams facilitated by technology companies. At least 10 tech companies played a role directly or indirectly in supporting these sites.

Traditionally, tech companies have justified such relationships by contending that it’s not their role to censor the Internet or to discourage legitimate political expression. Also, their management wasn’t necessarily aware that they were doing business with hate sites because tech services tend to be automated and based on algorithms tied to demographics.

In the wake of last week’s violent protest by alt-right groups in Charlottesville, more tech companies have disavowed relationships with extremist groups. During just the last week, six of the sites on our list were shut down. Even the web services company Cloudflare, which had long defended its laissez-faire approach to political expression, finally ended its relationship with the neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer last week.

“I can’t recall a time where the tech industry was so in step in their response to hate on their platforms,” said Oren Segal, director of the ADL’s Center on Extremism. “Stopping financial support to hate sites seems like a win-win for everyone.”

But ProPublica’s findings indicate that some tech companies with anti-hate policies may have failed to establish the monitoring processes needed to weed out hate sites. PayPal, the payment processor, has a policy against working with sites that use its service for “the promotion of hate, violence, [or] racial intolerance.” Yet it was by far the top tech provider to the hate sites with donation links on 23 sites, or about one-third of those surveyed by ProPublica. In response to ProPublica’s inquiries, PayPal spokesman Justin Higgs said in a statement that the company “strives to conscientiously assess activity and review accounts reported to us.”

After Charlottesville, PayPal stopped accepting payments or donations for several high-profile white nationalist groups that participated in the march. It posted a statement that it would remain “vigilant on hate, violence & intolerance.” It addresses each case individually, and “strives to navigate the balance between freedom of expression” and the “limiting and closing” of hate sites, it said.

After being contacted by ProPublica, Newsmax said it was unaware that the three sites that it had relationships with were considered hateful. “We will review the content of these sites and make any necessary changes after that review,” said Andy Brown, chief operating officer of Newsmax.

Amazon spokeswoman Angie Newman said the company had previously removed Jihad Watch and three other sites identified by ProPublica from its program sharing revenue for book sales, which is called Amazon Associates. When ProPublica pointed out that the sites still carried working links to the program, she said that it was their responsibility to remove the code. “They are no longer paid as an Associate regardless of what links are on their site once we remove them from the Associates Program,” she said.

We also consulted a list from ADL, which is not public and that was provided to us for research purposes

[…]

“It is not hateful, racist or extremist to oppose jihad terror,” said Spencer, the director of Jihad Watch. He added that the true extremism was displayed by groups that seek to censor the Internet and that by asking questions about the tech platforms on his site, we were “aiding and abetting a quintessentially fascist enterprise.”

Spencer made these comments in response to questions emailed by ProPublica reporter Lauren Kirchner. Afterwards, Spencer posted an item on Jihad Watch alleging that “leftist ‘journalist’” Kirchner had threatened the site. He also posted Kirchner’s photo and email, as well as his correspondence with her. After being contacted by ProPublica, another anti-Islam activist, Pamela Geller, also posted an attack on Kirchner, calling her a “senior reporting troll.” Like Spencer, Geller was banned by the British Home Office; her eponymous site is on the SPLC and ADL lists.

Donations — and the ability to accept them online through PayPal and similar companies — are a lifeline for sites like Jihad Watch. In 2015, the nonprofit website disclosed that three quarters of its roughly $100,000 in revenues came from donations, according to publicly available tax records.

In recent weeks, PayPal has been working to shut down donations to extremist sites. This week, it pulled the plug on VDARE.com, an anti-immigration website designated as “white nationalist” by the SPLC and as a hate site by the ADL. VDARE, which denies being white nationalist, immediately switched to its backup system, Stripe.

[….]Because of its “extreme hostility toward Muslims,” the website Jihadwatch.org is considered an active hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League. The views of the site’s director, Robert Spencer, on Islam led the British Home Office to ban him from entering the country in 2013.

BOMBSHELL: New evidence suggests Charlottesville was a complete SET-UP

charlottesville-d-1000x640.jpg Getty Images

At least one law enforcement officer in Charlottesville, VA has come forward to clear his conscience and reveal the truth — or at least his version of it — that what went down in the city was not only condoned by city governance but was intentional, orchestrated and may have been planned as long ago as May.

The as-yet unidentified police officer has said that the Charlottesville P.D. were specifically instructed to bring the radical left and right wing groups together to instigate violence and then to told to “stand down” once violence ensued in a deliberate effort to ignite a race riot. Hear his words:

(Video) Acosta Has Meltdown: If You Want To Protect George Washington’s Statue You Are “White Nationalist-Lite!”

CNN’s biggest drama queen Jim Acosta went to Trump Tower to complained that President Trump is comfortable saying ‘white nationalist’ ideas, such as not wanting to tear down George Washington’s statue!

“[Trump has] felt very comfortable espousing some views that are — very, I mean, I would say they’re almost white nationalist-lite, in that, he was complaining, bemoaning the removal of Confederate statues across the country and asking whether or not George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are next,” said Acosta. You hear that? If you don’t want George Washington’s statue torn down you are ‘white nationalist-lite’.

“Those symbols of the Confederacy cause so much hurt, cause so much pain for so many Americans across the country, that it is really understandable to most level-headed, rational Americans that these kinds of monuments, these kinds of symbols eventually just need to come down,” said Acosta.

“And to compare them to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, I think that is just also going to be taken, Wolf, as a sign that the president perhaps needs a refresher course, needs to go back to History 101. Because I think those kinds of remarks are just going to be deeply, deeply unsettling. And keep in mind, in just the last several minutes, David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK, put out a statement thanking the president for what he said, praising the president for what he said,” said Acosta.

Since President Trump made his comments, Al Sharpton, CNN, and others have advocated for tearing down the statues of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.

JEFFERSON CITY • Some of Missouri’s highest-ranking officials delivered on Friday an ultimatum to state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal: Resign or be removed from office.

Gov. Eric Greitens, a Republican, issued the first warning just before noon in a series of tweets blasting Chappelle-Nadal, a Democrat, for a comment Thursday on Facebook in which she said “I hope Trump is assassinated!” She quickly deleted the post.

Condemnation on Thursday was swift, with both Democrats and Republicans calling on the senator from University City to resign. But Chappelle-Nadal insisted she would not.

On Friday, Greitens said this in his tweets: “Senator Chappelle-Nadal said she hopes the President is killed. Republicans and Democrats have called on her to resign. Her response: ‘Hell no.’ Last night, in an interview, she refused to apologize — twice. If she will not resign, the Senate can vote to remove her. I believe they should.”

Lt. Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, piled on in a noon news conference, delivering the same ultimatum.

“I’m calling on Sen. Chappelle-Nadal to do the right thing and resign from her office,” Parson said. “However, if she does not do so by veto session, I will, in my position as president of the Missouri Senate, immediately seek the expulsion pursuant to Article III Section 18 of the Missouri Constitution.”

He said that he would seek Attorney General Josh Hawley’s opinion on the applicability of the constitutional provision and that he would ask senators to initiate Chappelle-Nadal’s removal.

That article in the state Constitution says the Senate can act with a two-thirds vote to “expel a member.”

“She may have been very angry when she wrote those words, but anger is not a valid excuse,” Parson said. “The comments she made are indefensible.”

The Secret Service said Thursday that it was investigating. Threatening the president is a federal crime.

Two of the highest-ranking Senate Republicans said Friday afternoon in statements that they would employ rarely used parliamentary tools to expel Chappelle-Nadal if need be.

“We are preparing for options afforded in the Missouri Constitution and the Senate Rules if she continues to defy the public outcry and not resign,” Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard, R-Joplin, said in a statement.

“The process of expulsion is a significant, rarely used step that should not be taken lightly,” said Majority Floor Leader Mike Kehoe, R-Jefferson City. “We are researching the detailed steps involved in the expulsion process and will be prepared to move forward as necessary.”

Defiance, potential charges

Chappelle-Nadal was defiant Thursday in several interviews in which she refused the calls to resign. She said she wrote the five-word Facebook comment because of her anger over President Donald Trump’s response to violence in Charlottesville, Va., last weekend.

On her Twitter profile Friday, she posted a link to a website, IStandWithMaria.com, asking supporters to add their name to a list.

Chappelle-Nadal told the Post-Dispatch she met with the Secret Service on Thursday and explained to them that she had made a mistake.

“I made sure it was clear to them that the anger I experienced was related to the trauma my constituents are going through,” said Chappelle-Nadal, whose district includes Ferguson, a landfill linked to nuclear contamination and low-performing school districts.

“I do not wish harm to anyone. I could have chosen and should have chosen better language. I do not think it is worthy of expelling me from the Senate,” Chappelle-Nadal said. “I am owning up to it. He makes me mad from time to time. He says outrageous things. My emotions got the best of me.”

Chappelle-Nadal said Greitens and Parson were trying to divert attention away from Trump and his controversial statements about Charlottesville.

“They are creating cover for the president instead of dealing with the real issues at hand,” Chappelle-Nadal said.

Chappelle-Nadal said she had no intention of resigning.

It was still unclear Friday whether the senator would face any charges because of the post. On Thursday, the Secret Service’s St. Louis field office said agents were “looking into this.”

On Friday, the office would not confirm if Chappelle-Nadal had been questioned or if an investigation was ongoing. But Parson, in his news conference, did mention an “ongoing investigation.”

“I cannot say for certainty if her remarks meet the standard of prosecution under federal law,” Parson said. “That is for the Secret Service and the federal prosecutors to determine through their ongoing investigation.”

History, procedure

On Friday, members of the nonpartisan Senate administrative staff were digging into records, searching for any case in Missouri history in which a senator was expelled by his or her peers.

They could not find any.

Parson said Chappelle-Nadal would have until the Legislature’s annual veto session in September to resign, but it was unclear whether Parson and allies intended to start expulsion proceedings in the veto session, when lawmakers are allowed only to consider vetoed legislation.

“We definitely do not think such action could be done during veto session,” said Adriane Crouse, secretary of the Senate. “We (the Senate) or the governor could call us in a special session to do it.”

The part-time Legislature works from January to May, during a typically brief veto session in September and whenever special sessions are called. For Chappelle-Nadal, first elected to the Senate in 2010, the 2018 regular session would be her last because of term limits.

The only expulsion case Crouse could point to on the Senate side of the Capitol was a 1945 bribery case involving a Republican from Clayton.

State Sen. Joseph Falzone was accused of soliciting a $1,500 bribe to push legislation cosmetologists favored, according to Post-Dispatch archives.

A special Senate panel voted to charge Falzone with bribery in June 1945. If the full Senate convicted him, the panel recommended expulsion.

“The Senate chamber is being used for the first time for a trial of a Senator,” Curtis A. Betts, a Post-Dispatch correspondent, wrote. “There is no record of such a proceeding in this state in the past. … The chamber lends itself well to the solemnity of such an occasion. There is a dignified coldness about its marble walls.”

Falzone resigned four days into the trial, citing his wife’s illness and saying he would be ineffective if he held onto his seat.
