Some of those suggestions include a new independent civilian oversight board, even going as far as saying both state law and city policy need to change so that board has subpeona power for investigations and can discipline police misconduct. Warsame said he has not spoken to officer Noor and will not pass judgment until all the facts are known. He did say he thought the mayor and former police chief were more or less out of line when they offered up their opinions on the shooting. Officer Mohamed Noor is the officer who shot and killed Damond on July 15, he was the first Somali officer in the fifth precinct, but Warsame says the officer’s race and culture is irrelevant and he wants the hate and blame toward the Somali community to stop.

This is what is going on on American college campuses. Jewish students and non-Jewish students who support the tiny Jewish state are harassed, intimidated and targeted. Amid Temple Mount Tensions, Anti-Israel Student Groups in US Celebrate Palestinian Violence Against Jewish State

Anti-Zionist student groups are taking to social media to celebrate Palestinian violence against Israel as tensions in the Middle East have continued to escalate following the recent terror attack on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign (UIUC) wrote Friday on Facebook that Israel — which it called “[t]he settler colonial regime” — was committing a “slow genocide of the Palestinian people” and called on followers to “Boycott Israel, boycott the genocide!”

The group added, “Long live the intifada!” and, in Arabic, “Long live resistance.”

The post — which also claimed Israel’s placement of metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount after three terrorists killed two Israeli policemen at the holy site on July 14 constituted “a violation of Palestinian sovereignty and a precursor to the further militarization of the occupation” — was liked by Florida State University’s SJP and shared by a Washington University group called Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA).

Hayley Nagelberg, co-president of UIUC’s pro-Israel group — called the Illini Public Affairs Committee or IlliniPAC — told The Algemeiner, “The language of this SJP statement encourages a call for more violence which is inappropriate and irresponsible. While they may choose to focus on this, our message will continue to be in solidarity with the victims.”

“We have seen too much the impact of promoting hate on the ground in the Middle East and feel that publicly encouraging such violence here in the United States is entirely unacceptable,” she continued.

FSU’s SJP also composed its own Facebook posts about the ongoing situation in Israel, including one on Friday in which it stated, “Palestinians and their supporters everywhere are expressing justified rage at this reprehensible and unconscionable display of abusive force by Israeli forces. Muslims worldwide are being asked to stand together in a day of anger for al-Aqsa. اغضب للاقصى (angry to the extreme).”

In another post, the group wrote, “It is unacceptable for Zionism to swarm it like a honeycomb with the technology of Empire.”

SJP UIUC responded to The Algemeiner‘s request for comment over social media with the following statement:

We appreciate your contacting us, but our first priority is to reputable publications without a history of smear campaigning and fear mongering. If you like you can take a ticket and we can get back to you in about 69 years. It’s a long wait, ask any Palestinian, but it shouldn’t be too hard for a Zionist such as yourself. I mean, holding something that isn’t yours for long periods of time. Best regards, Students for Justice in Palestine at Urbana Champaign

SAIA and FSU’s SJP chapters did not respond to requests for comments.

In a statement, Aviva Slomich — the international campus director for the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America on Campus — called SJP a “notorious hate group” and slammed it for “promoting the blood libel” that Israel has attempted to change the status quo on the Temple Mount by putting security measures in place.

On Friday night, three members of the Salomon family were killed by a 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist while they were celebrating the birth of a grandson during a Shabbat meal.

Minnesota Is Pushing Gender Identity Debate on Kindergartners

It would seem to be common sense that schoolchildren fresh off of learning the alphabet should not have to learn the alphabet soup of growing gender pronouns sprung from the laboratories of college campuses.

But that is exactly what is happening in Minnesota.

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Education advisory council voted to implement an LGBT “toolkit” for public and charter schools in the state.

Nor are these guidelines just intended for older students. Instead, they were created for children as young as those entering kindergarten.

The toolkit says the language surrounding gender identity issues is “evolving” and that “any student, including transgender and gender nonconforming students, may be heterosexual, gay, lesbian or bisexual.”

“Gender identity does not correlate with sexual orientation,” the report says.

Therefore, the toolkit offers a litany of suggestions for how teachers should address LGBT issues and be more “inclusive.”

One recommendation is to allow children to use the bathroom of their preferred gender identity.

And it doesn’t stop there. According to The Washington Free Beacon, the guidelines state that, in addition to using the child’s pronoun of choice, “teachers must call students by whatever name they choose to ensure that bullying does not occur.”

The students don’t even have to provide legal documentation or verification that their names have changed.

But what happens to a teacher who doesn’t use the correct name and pronoun to identify a student?

The guidelines say that the offending teacher could be found in violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

This is just a small part of the long list of recommendations.

They also suggest not using the term “boys and girls” in reference to the children, and instead using the gender-neutral “students” or “scholars.”

Homecoming and prom can also become problematic under the toolkit’s rubric, as gendered terms like “homecoming king” could be deemed offensive. The guidelines suggest using more neutral terms and phrases like “prom ambassadors” instead.

The report also urges students to adhere to these standards and for teachers to correct those who don’t use the advised language.

The toolkit is backed by a number of LGBT rights organizations, according to the Free Beacon, including “the Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, the National Education Association, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights.”

But not everyone is happy about the ruling.

State Rep. Tim Miller, R-Prinsburg, said that no one from his district supports the toolkit, according to the Star Tribune, a Minneapolis newspaper.

“I do not see sensitivities to a 13-year-old Christian girl or a kindergarten boy who cannot possibly have a sexual orientation,” Miller said.

Though battlegrounds over gender identity have been all the rage on college campuses for quite some time, and have now hit the political mainstream, it is still shocking to apply them to children who are just beginning to understand the world around them.

Yet parents who don’t wish their children to be exposed to the standards have little choice in the matter. This is perhaps a perfect example of why school choice is such a pressing issue so that families have greater freedom to opt in or opt out of policies and belief systems that are right for them. Here’s What Voters Think About a Trump Impeachment – It’s Pretty Surprising

Voters are evenly divided on whether or not President Donald Trump should be removed from office, according to a poll released Monday morning.

Forty-two percent of respondents said that the president should be removed from his office in some way, but another 42 percent believe that the president should stay exactly where he is, according to a poll released by USA Today. The remaining respondents were undecided.

A question in the poll asked voters if they would be “upset” if Trump is impeached in some way. Thirty-four percent answered in the affirmative, but 34 percent of voters said they wouldn’t feel upset if Democrats were somehow able to follow through with their threats . . .

Forty-six percent of respondents don’t believe Trump will finish out his first term, with only 27 percent of all voters believing that the president will serve through the 2020 presidential election. Of course. What other than bigotry could possibly lead anyone to oppose the institutionalized subjugation of women and non-Muslims, the extinguishing of the freedom of speech and the freedom of conscience, the death penalty for apostasy and much more? Concern for human rights? Pah! It’s “Islamophobia”!

The difference is that Islamic law asserts authority over non-Muslims, and denies them basic rights. None of the other legal systems Dover mentions claim any authority over those who are outside the fold. Moreover, Islamic law is a political as well as a religious system, and a supremacist, authoritarian, and violent political system at that. We have already seen the Sharia courts in Britain overstepping the bounds that we were assured they would respect, and dealing with matters such as spousal abuse that they should have turned over to the criminal courts. Would this happen in Australia? Without any doubt whatsoever.

A prominent Muslim psychologist with a practice in Sydney’s west says opponents of Sharia law are bigots.

Hanan Dover has told her 10,898 Facebook followers Australia needed to allow special laws for Muslims.

‘Religious groups can engage the laws and negotiate change in Australia whatever your religious schtick,’ she said.

‘But, only one of those religious laws creates political and media hysteria because it suits political fear-mongering and that’s pretty obvious – Islam.’

Ms Dover compared the idea of allowing Islamic law for Muslims with Aboriginal customary laws in the criminal justice system.

‘The fact that there is only one single law for Australians is BS,’ she said.

‘Australia’s liberal democracy prides itself being accommodating to different codes of law for different groups: halacha law for Jews, canon law for Catholics, tribal law for the Aboriginal communities, Islamic law for Muslims.’

The clinical psychologist described as bigots anyone who opposed special laws for Muslims, after a judge stopped the administrators of a Sydney synagogue from sacking a rabbi.

The Supreme Court verdict in June was hailed by Benzion Milecki, the chief rabbi of the South Head synagogue, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

‘Imagine if a Muslim stated similar to this after an approved court verdict about Shariah/Islamic law,’ Ms Dover said.

‘These are where the double standards we have to face from politicians/media commentators and bigots.’

Under Section 116 of the Australian Constitution, the federal government is banned from stopping the ‘free exercise of any religion’.

That makes banning Sharia law, an Islamic legal system, a contentious issue.

In Indonesia’s Aceh province, where Sharia law is practised, adulterers are caned 100 times.

Homosexual acts incur the death penalty in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Mauritania and Nigeria, where Sharia law is applied.

Sharia law has also been applied in the United Kingdom for divorce, however these ruling can be overridden by a regular court.

Not all Muslims in the West embrace Sharia law, with secular followers of Islam content with Australia’s existing laws on religious practice.

Ms Dover occasionally uses the hashtag ‘#creepingsharia’ on her Facebook page and has recently described Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull as a ‘bigoted, Islamophobic, offensive moron’ for describing terrorism as a ‘disease within Islam itself’….

Noor also told friends that he was “startled” just before he killed Justine Damond.

These signs are good, but a more accurate satirical sign would read: “WARNING: TWIN CITIES POLICE MAY BE INCOMPETENT ‘DIVERSITY’ HIRES.”

Minneapolis citizens should be demanding that police officers are hired and fired only on the basis of merit, not because they’re Somali or Muslim or a member of any other privileged victim class.

The sign features a silhouette of a police officer holding a gun in his hands, shooting in both directions.

It states: “WARNING: TWIN CITIES POLICE EASILY STARTLED”. Social media users have begun posting sightings of the signs in Minnieapolis and neighbouring city Saint Paul on platforms including Reddit.

Hungarian PM: Soros, EU Are Trying to Establish a ‘Muslimized’ Europe

Viktor Orban, the prime minister of Hungary, says George Soros is working in partnership with leaders of the European Union to establish a Europe that’s heavy on the Muslim influence.

Specifically, Orban accused Soros and the EU of working hard to establish a “new, mixed, Muslimized Europe.”

Orban has a point.

Open borders, amnesty and whole welcome of refugees and migrants from mostly Muslim nations have become part and parcel of the political make-up of European Union leaders of late.

The Daily Caller New Foundation tells more:

Orban vowed to continue Hungary’s efforts to block Soros and the EU from increasing Muslim migration to Europe during a speech in Romania. Hungary opposes immigrants “who could change the country’s cultural identity,” Orban said, adding that “Western European Christians will always be able to find security” in his country.

Orban and Soros have traded barbs for several months as Hungary strives to halt the billionaire’s operations in the country.

The government has accused Soros of pushing for a one million migrant influx to Europe through his NGOs. Zoltan Kovacs, a spokesman for Orban, recently told The Daily Caller News Foundation that the war against Soros has become “a matter of national security.”

“The Hungarian standpoint is that illegal migration is clearly a matter of national security,” Kovacs told TheDCNF. “We shall mobilize the political and legal power of the Hungarian state against anyone who undermines the security of Hungary – regardless of their origins, religious affiliation or wealth.”

EU has threatened to imposed unprecedented sanctions against Poland over reforms to its judicial system. Orban promised to defend the Poles against any legal action from the EU.

“The main target of the inquisition, the example of national governance to be weakened, destroyed and broken is Poland,” Orban said during a televised interview Saturday, according to Reuters. “Hungary will use every legal possibility in the European Union to be in solidarity with the Poles.”

Omar Al-Abed,a  19-year old Palestinian, broke into a home in the West Bank settlement of Halamish carrying a large knife, stabbing members of the Salamon family, who had gathered together to celebrate the birth of a grandchild that morning.

Al-Abed killed Yosef Salamon, 70, and his daughter Chaya, 46, and son Elad, 36. Yosef Salamon’s wife, Chaya Salamon, was seriously wounded and underwent surgery at Jerusalem’s Shaarei Tzedek hospital on Saturday morning.

Al-Abad was neutralised by a neighbour of the Salamons, a sergeant in the IDF, who shot and wounded the terrorist. Al-Abed was treated in hospital before being handed over for questioning to the Israeli security services.

Israeli news outlets are reporting that Al –Abed purchased the knife on Thursday, deciding to carry out a terror attack because of the situation in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Ten day ago, three Arab terrorists descended from the Temple Mount and shot and killed two Israeli police officers. The Temple Mount compound, which is run by Islamic authorities and where Jews are forbidden to pray, was closed while a search was carried out.

When the complex was re-opened last Sunday, the Palestinians protested against introduction of metal detectors at entrances to the site, claiming this was an Israeli encroachment on the compound where the Al-Aqsa mosque, an Islamic holy site, is located.

On Friday, a riot broke out among the Palestinians who had prayed outside the compound. Three Palestinians were killed in the subsequent altercation with the Israeli police.

Prior to carrying out the killings, Al-Abed posted a message on Facebook urging others to follow his example.

“I only have a knife”, he wrote.

“Where are the others who had guns to use only at wedding?”, he continued, a reference to the practice by Arabs to fire guns into the air at wedding celebrations.

“I ask my family to forgive me. I know I will not return and will go to heaven.

“Put in my grave Arafat’s keffiyeh [head-scarf] and the ribbon of Al-Aqsa brigades”.

Al-Abed’s family is reputed to have connections with the Hamas terrorist group. Hamas, which controls the Gaza strip, posted a message praising his attack, with Palestinians in Gaza subsequently gathering in celebration of the murders.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres released two statements on Friday. The first “deeply deplored” the deaths of the Palestinians during rioting and called for the incidents to be “fully investigated”.

I am neither shocked or surprised by Linda Sarsour’s nazi-esque lust for blood. Evil exists in the world. What is horrific is the left’s exaltation of Sarsour, chosen as a leader of the women’s march chosen by CUNY to give the keynote speech at the university’s commencement ceremonies. And it’s not just the anti-semitic left, but left-wing kapo Jews who stand with Sarsour.

Linda Sarsour called for jihad against President Trump a couple of weeks ago. Now she is calling for the slaughter of Jewish families.

Evil is made possible the the sanction you give it.

The blatant injustice and suffering that Sarsour refers is the existence of the tiny Jewish state (surrounded, I might add, by a score of  Muslim lands). Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, in a speech to the Muslim community: “I want you to know that you are a valued and appreciated part of Minneapolis. I stand with YOU and support YOU!”

Just days after the murder of Justine Damond by Somali American officer Mohamed Noor, she tells the city “we cannot compound that tragedy by turning to racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia…”

Mayor Hodges insists that the effort to hire Somali officers will continue in the police department, and that “the Somali officers on the force are seen as community role models, and are among the success stories of the immigrants in Minnesota.”

And now, under direction of Mayor Hodges the city of Minneapolis has set up a hotline for residents to report suspected hate crimes, including “speech and actions,” according to statements on the city’s website.

The city, which will operate the “service” through its 3-1-1 helpline, is targeting any “harassing behaviors motivated by prejudice.” Those wishing to report a hate crime from outside the city may dial 612-673-3000.

According to the local newspaper, the Star-Tribune, “the announcement comes amid signs of a recent surge of such incidents affecting Muslims and Jews across the country, many of which go unreported.”

Gas Prices Fall to 12-Year Low Under Trump Presidency

The recent drop in the cost of oil has been a happy surprise for drivers, who are enjoying the cheapest gas prices at the start of summer in 12 years.

Oil prices have dipped into bear market territory and gasoline prices have followed, falling every day since June 2, according to AAA. The average price nationally for a gallon of regular is now $2.28, down 10 cents since the start of the month.
