And don't think these failures belong only to Blacks. It may be the case here as the south side of Chicago is Latino and Black. I have seen the same illiteracy and mental dullness in white college students. In this case, this one student "graduated" prior to college from a "design technology school." He could barely read and had an attitude of "know it all" based on his gaming "expertise." He was the one I deduced, had never read a book, as he couldn't comprehend the need for margins on a page. Directions were clear as a bell. [I always have two versions for each project. One was adjective- driven, for those intending to excel and wanting fine-tuned explanations. The other was the Cliff Notes version, which was bullet points.]

This one excelled. ...---Indifference. Arrogance. Lazy. Rude. Selfish. Prideful. The same group of characteristics we're witnessing all over the country in riots. Any sign of parenting was missing in this/these 20- something young men. It was exceptionally clear to me what the combination of no parental guidance plus video gaming addiction does to the human brain. It destroys the ability to care, observe, analyze and learn and conceptualize details to a project.

Someone needs to investigate the results on the human brain from video gaming and at what point it destroys the ability to think. Or care. It's almost like the affects of a partial lobotomy.

Another gamer I had, actually tried to plagiarize from online right in front of me as I was asking to see his project conceptual sketches. He had none to show me. But kept flipping through his phone for a quick idea. He actually thought he could get away with that.
