Who's to blame?
Both sides and the abject fear they've injected into the ongoing situation, and onto each other!
I was a patrolman for over 22 years, and watching the video, it looks like a case of a bad shooting so far, but not all of the evidence is in just yet. So, who is responsible, and more to the point, why are they responsible?
If you listen to the protesters on the Left, and the Democrat politicians, even an ex president; an overly enthusiastic federal agent acting like the Gestapo just murdered him.
If you listen to Homeland Security it was a justified self defense shooting. If you listen to other Federal agencies, there is reason for concern with all the speculation. That speculation is contributing to an escalation of tensions over the tragic incident.
In my limited knowledge seen on the video, it was a situation where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. It could be called wrongful death, or it could even be called negligent homicide. Based on what In saw and heard, it definitely is not murder like the left is saying, nor is it justified self defense like the Feds are saying.
Think about what has happened there, and what is also happening in only in Minnesota as of today. When you do that, I believe you will be closer to the truth of what happened and why it happened. The tragedy that happened has more ramifications that most people know.
It's not a question that Pretti had his gun legally on him, he was legally entitled to have it on him.
What we don't know, is what he was doing up until he was confronted by the Federal officer and put on the ground. There so far is no video on that segment of time coming forward. We do know that some people were shouting "GUN", and that is a trigger to trained officers to go on high alert. We do know that when the officer took Pretti's gun from his waistband, there was an accidental discharge. As of this writing nothing has been released about what or who caused the discharge.
We still don't know how that first 'accidental' shot was fired or who fired it. did the gun get dropped and fire like the p320'a are prone to do? Did the agent who, pulled it out of Pretti's waistband accidentally fire it? How many agents were screaming "GUN" before and during the time it was fired? Chaos would account for the mistakes, but the end result is an innocent dead person.
Lets explore a little more into some of the potential reasons;
Social Media has been inundated by calls from the left against ICE doing it's job and removing illegals like the law requires. Lately there have been actual, threats by influencers and rowdy actions by protestors aimed at ICE officers. Ask yourself this; If you were an ICE officer, legally tasked with rounding up illegals, and being attacked physically and slandered daily by fellow Americans, News Media, and Politicians, how safe would you feel? Especially since one of your own was rammed and almost run down by a protestor?
This set of conditions is a very serious problem, and if it's kept up it will be the underlaying cause of many more senseless deaths. As I said in the beginning, both sides are responsible for Pritti's death. The Left for their violent Rhetoric and Physical actions, and the Right for succumbing to the tensions and fears and calling mistakes self defense.
We do know that a lot of the protestors are being paid to protest and act up. If you don't believe me, go, to, the dark web and look at all the ads there. That needs to stop, and that also needs to be prosecuted. As far as I could tell on the dark web, there are three factions creating all the chaos and unrest for personal and political gain. I won't name them, if you want to find out who is behind this mess, go to that web and do your own research. That way you'll see the truth and believe it.

This is a clear case and you can verify it when you watch the videos. Pretti was an assassin who brandished a gun to attack and murder federal law enforcement. President Trump is correct that Pretti should not have carried a gun in the first place. Who brings a gun to a "peaceful"protest anyway?
Paul, he was stupid carrying a gun to the protest. I wonder if he was asked to do it to create an 'Incident' the left could exaggerate all out of proportion. Maybe they wanted an injury or even to the point of the left hopeing he would be killed for that incident. We have a dangerous situation where the left gets the false flag coverage as the injured party, and the conservatives get kicked in the teeth. One thing we all could do is to flood their Op-Ed pages with our information to challenge their lies. If enough people post conservative, the media beinmg profit nbased will start citinmg conservative views.
I don't mind if people carry, I don't even mind open carry, it's when someone becomes violent and has a gun then the problem begings. I don't know he went with the intent to kill, but he certainly went with the intent to be violent, he already did that before, because of his behavior he was known to the law, they aren't, and shouldnt take a chance on getting killed by him because he's pissed off they broke his rib! How stupid and soft we are becoming about criminals is blowing my mind! Oh, no one should die....cry me a river over someone supporting criminals who broke into our country!
He went 'to the risk'.
He accepted the risk of a confirmation.
He brought a gun to a known confirmation point, and he engaged heavily armed and trained law enforcement while armed.
A gun was seen by law enforcement, which heightened the possibility that the assailant would use it against law enforcement.
Law enforcement did not know his intent except that he was aggressive.
During hand-to-hand combat, a firearm was discharged.
Close quarters, heavily armed law enforcement, and an armed assailant, what could go wrong?
Question: If a known aggressive and armed combatant brings a firearm to an explosive event filled with an armed mob of paid street fighters demanding law enforcement to be assassinated, and then that same combatant assaults law enforcement, displaying a gun during the assault ('he's got a gun' shouted during the attack), then how can this end safely?
For one they found that just a week ago he was in a bit of a fight with ICE and ended up with a broken rib. This was not his first rodeo!
That still does not mean he should have been shot. The left is using that as an excuse to elevate him to Liberal Sainthood and they will use that during the coming mid-terms against us.
They didn't intentionally go after him to shoot him, he got into a fight with them, not for the first time, they were familiar with his aggression, they knew who he was, they had history. How many different ways do I need to say the man was trouble, and unpredictable, even his father warned him about his temper......before he was shot and the family saw a way to become suddenly wealthy. There are some bad cops.....like at J/6 an unarmed woman on our side was shot and the cop is still out there, never disciplined. I don't hink these were bad cops, they saw a gun and reacted as hey were trained to react. Split second decision!
We have our concealed carry, we were out of state, stopped for speeding. We sat there window down with our hands visible, told the sheriff we were not carrying, there were no firearms in the car as he approached. We wanted him to know he was safe! This idiot picked a fight with the cops and when they had him down he continued to fight never mentioning he had a gun. STUPID!!!!!! They use EVERYTHING against us, they will use this, and they will use the idiot who instead of getting out of the vehicle dicided to hit the gas while her wife was going "go baby go"!
When you talk about how this will be used against us in the midterms, all I can say is if Bondi, the FBI and others did their job and got some people arrested and convicted, if we could see some big heads roll....people who comitted crimes, the midterms wouldn't be in question, this would have no affect on it at all.
We can't continue to blame Bondi and the FBI that's in really good hands today. The problem is the judiciary. As long as President Trump doesn't assume full authority over the judiciary and puts loyal judges on the bench, Bondi and the FBI can't do much more than what they are doing. We have to accept that fact.
Ilona, you are hitting all my points right on the money. In fact you said it clearer and better than I did. The fact the left are using dirty tactics and excessive threats bundled into what they pretend are reasonable actions.
In actuality the left is waging asymetrical warfare on the legitimate government. They are using the same Societal disruptive and destructive techniques to modify our system into the despotism of their preferred dictatorships as theyn hjave been doing in every Communist takeover..
He was, also, in the signal chats that are being exposed. It appears he was fired from his job, his wife divorced him for his radicalization and his parents warned him about what he was doing. He was a loser.
