Here's what AI says is in it...I couldn't find the bill itself. If you do a search for Dignity Act, you find a bill dealing with fetal remains.Dignity Program:A seven-year program offering work authorization and protection from removal to eligible undocumented immigrants.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have been in the U.S. before 2021, pass background checks, pay taxes and back taxes, and pay a fine and restitution.

Dignity Status:

Upon completion of the Dignity Program, individuals can choose to obtain Dignity Status, granting work, residency, and travel authorization.
\

Redemption Program:
Alternatively, individuals can opt for the five-year Redemption Program, which provides a pathway to permanent legal status and requires an additional payment or community service.

Dreamers and DACA:
The bill also addresses the status of Dreamers and DACA recipients, potentially granting them 10 years of conditional permanent resident status.

TPS and DED:
Individuals with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) may be eligible for lawful permanent resident (LPR) status after five years.
Border Security and Enforcement:

Border Infrastructure:
The bill allocates funding for border infrastructure and technology upgrades, including enhanced barriers, surveillance systems, and biometric exit systems.

CBP Personnel:
It includes provisions for hiring additional U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel.

Employer Verification:

The bill proposes an electronic employment eligibility verification system (similar to E-Verify) for employers.
Other Provisions:

The State Department would maintain lists of safe countries and countries with known persecution to inform asylum decisions.

The Dignity Act of 2025 is presented as a bipartisan effort to address both border security and the situation of undocumented immigrants already in the U.S.

  • NO, NOT A CHANCE, NO WAY!

  • The Immigration System in the United States needs to be updated and modernized to match the present demographic and worker requirements of the United States.  I would prefer that any Immigration Bill be developed and consummated under President Trump rather than waiting for the day when the Demoncrats once again gain control.

Additionally, President Trump needs some kind of bipartisan legislative action to bring about some measure of unity within the Congress of the United States and to set an example for the American People that it is time to end the continued division based on hate alone.

Rep. Salazar's proposed Dignity Act of 2025 does NOT provide for a path to citizenship.  It in essence establishes a clear set of rules for a foreigner to become a legal resident of the United States with conditions and a system to manage this program.  Of course, her proposed language is just a first shot, but I believe it is pretty good and could be made better by the Trump Administration getting involved.

There is nothing in the Dignity Act of 2025 about becoming a citizen, having voting rights, or even being subject to the laws of the United States of America.  What it appears to do is to clean up the current system and codify it more clearly, fix responsibility, and provide self-funding to pay for securing the border, managing immigration, and training immigrants to become useful and profitable residents (NOT CITIZENS).

BOTTOM LINE:  I believe this bill has a lot of potential and we should not crap on it right out the gate!

    • "There is nothing in the Dignity Act of 2025 about becoming a citizen, having voting rights, or even being subject to the laws of the United States of America.  What it appears to do is to clean up the current system and codify it more clearly, fix responsibility, and provide self-funding to pay for securing the border, managing immigration, and training immigrants to become useful and profitable residents (NOT CITIZENS)."

we always had immigration laws, if followed we would not be here today. The problem is no lack of law, but lack of applying it.  If we take this idea and run with it, it will take criminals to citizenship and voting rights, it will give the left precisely what they wanted.

"Applicants must have been in the U.S. before 2021, pass background checks, pay taxes and back taxes, and pay a fine and restitution."

It's pure BS, None of the above will happen, they will all be approved, stamped and become legal, and citizens in no time at all. We all know our system is corrupt, what makes anyone think this will be handled following the law?????????? A new law is only as good as the people in charge of it!

    • There has been a persistant degradation, purposefully applied, to our language. Without a common cultural agreement on meanings of words, the culture can disintegrate into any foreign ideology from hell. What is a democracy? Two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner. Yet they hold that system up as if it is the best thing since sliced bread. What is a woman and what is a man? When the fact/truth, changes from the word 'sex' into "gender," thus redefining man or woman as choice intead of nature, It has descended into what hell wants. Words and concepts like 'binary and X and Y, are lost in the slime they created. And the thing that irks me to no end, is even Christians now use the term "gender." Blind leading the blind. Just like the word 'immigrant." People act like they know nothing any more. What can they do when the foundation be destroyed? Psa. 11:3

    • Thumbs UP, Col.

  • Please define "immigration."

    Please define "citizen."

Please define 'migrant and illegal alien." '

Please explain who the US Constitution is intended to protect.

There are no other relevant terms, so quit dancing around the matter.
