So, when Biden comes along and orders a shut down of the KeyStone Pipeline... and cancels leases, not yet in production, Big Energy jacks up the price of retail fuel. Look, we don't have free energy markets. America and the world have managed energy markets. PRICE FIXING among the Big Producers has become routine, thru artificially limiting production from existing wells. However, price-fixing in the USA is illegal, therefore, they need an excuse, a cover the fixing... the sudden and universal increase in retail and wholesale fuel prices. Just ask OPEC if price-fixing occurs, their entire operation is to fix oil prices.
What can domestic producers do to make up revenue losses to the Pandemic and its economic impact when the law prohibits arbitrary price fixing? Along comes, Biden with the RUSE... illegally canceling a pipeline that has never pumped a drop of crude and hundreds of leases, most of them not in production, anyway. Tell me how does that produce a shortage and massive unilateral price increases in retail fuel?
