Black Professor Accused of Racism Because he wants Black Student Taught Standard English

Had the United States of America NEVER fought the Civil War and had the USA embraced the 10th Amendment allowing each State to determine its own way forward regarding slavery, I believe this nation would be better off today when it comes to race relations. American Society was already waking up to the FACT that slavery, as an institution, was and is ANTI-AMERICAN. It flies in the face of the whole founding concepts of LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS! Had President Lincoln taken a more measured approach to the question of Slavery, the Southern States would NOT have seceded from the Union. Had President Lincoln led an effort to empower the individual states to make their own decisions about the legality of Slavery and the trade relationships between free and slave states, there would be growing pressure on the slave states to bring about an orderly end to slavery which would most-likely have been accomplished nation-wide by the early 1890's. Without the Civil War and the poor treatment of the South during the Reconstruction Years, the United States would NOT have that great divide between the Union and the Confederacy which has lingered through the 20th Century AND, I believe, the nation would be much more united today without the evolution of the race-hustlers who were empowered by the Jim Crow laws.
