Payback is a bitch, isn't it? Get a load of this: a Superior Court decision has directed Fani's office to pay Judicial Watch $21,678 in attorney's fees and litigation expenses, putting Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis under intense scrutiny. The court found Willis in legal default due to her office's noncompliance with Georgia's Open Records Act (ORA). This led to claims of a political plot and questionable handling of public records.
Discussion or collusion? After Willis's office disputed the availability of information pertaining to correspondence with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee, Judicial Watch sued in March 2024. The lawsuit claimed Willis's office neglected to properly investigate responsive documents, and her denial was untrue.
Fani lies to the court! Oops! The December 2024 ruling of the court exposed an alarming chronicle of events. Willis's office consistently denied the existence of pertinent information, even though Judicial Watch's first ORA request was on August 22, 2023. But Judicial Watch separately found data indicating the existence of responsive records, which spurred the complaint.
Fani thumbed her nose at the court. The court declared Willis in default and instructed her office to carefully review its files. Though most were judged exempt from disclosure, this search turned up some previously unreported materials. The court said Willis's actions amounted to a "patent violation" of the ORA as she neglected to do a thorough search previously.
Fani's actions were blatant! The District Attorney's Office blatantly ignored the plaintiff's original ORA request, did not search, and lied to the County's Open Records Custodian that no relevant documents existed, as shown by the documents and the custodian's own admission.
The motion reported by Judicial Watch said: Her records custodian claims he can check cell phone texts and other material using the Cellebrite [digital investigations] equipment he presumably had a hand in ordering. The custodian keeps no records of the techniques employed in a specific search and does not follow any set procedure for doing searches.
The complaint explains Willis's alleged political cooperation with the January 6 committee targeting former President Donald Trump, according to Judicial Watch.
President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton remarked, "Fani Willis broke the law; the court is correct to smash her and demand, at least, the payment of almost $22,000 to Judicial Watch. In the end, Judicial Watch seeks to uncover the complete truth about her concealment: her office's political collaboration with the Pelosi January 6 committee in an attempt to undermine Trump.
Final Word: Here is a famous Progressive quote that has been weaponized against Trump but has backfired: “No one is above the law!” Once again, Payback is a bitch!
