It never ceases to amaze how many supposedly educated people do not understand what “the press” means in the First Amendment. It refers to the press in the sense of publishing, historically the printing press. It does not create a privileged class called “journalists” with special constitutional rights unavailable to everyone else. The First Amendment protects the same freedom of speech for everyone, exactly as it should, and, as a second step, the press, as in the freedom to disseminate information, because freedom of speech is useless without the right to disseminate it. This is all very elementary stuff, and yet there are still countless people running around claiming that so-called journalists have special rights.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
What part of the 1st amendment says: ',and the reporters get to lie, misrepresent and incite insurrection'? 😟
President Trump finally made the first step to ensure the American people get the truth and nothing but the truth as the federal government under his leadership determines what the truth is. This is exactly how he makes America great again, how he protects our Republic, our freedom and liberties.
