(it’s about time)

As Dem members of Congress enjoy bodyguards, security protection and the outright protection from armed Secret Service the Dems demand the rest of America to be fully exposed to criminals, hate crime, assault, and a host of other hostile acts!

Get this. 117 Democrats voted against the bill  condemned attempts to defund the police. Representative Jerry Nadler, a Democrat from New York, described the resolution as mere "empty rhetoric."

National Police Week is a time to honor the bravery and commitment of law enforcement officers. However, on Thursday, the House passed a resolution  denounces recent movements seeking to defund or eliminate the police. This was met with opposition from over half of the House Democrats.

In a 301-119 vote, lawmakers approved the non-binding resolution, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice shown by local law enforcement in ensuring community safety. The resolution also condemns any calls to defund, disband, dismantle, or abolish the police.

All the "no" votes came from Democrats, with a total of 117 Democrats voting against the measure. Three Democrats voted "present," while almost all Republicans supported the resolution, with only two exceptions.

During the debate, Representative Jerry Nadler, the leading Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, dismissed the resolution as empty rhetoric. He stated, "This resolution serves no purpose other than scoring political points."

Many Democrats were also critical of the resolution's language, which implies  leftist activists and progressive politicians were solely responsible for calls to defund and dismantle police departments. Nadler pointed out the omission of right-wing violence and the resolution's failure to acknowledge how police helped restore order during the January 6th Capitol riot, deeming it unbalanced and unfair.

Representative Pramila Jayapal, a Democrat from Washington who chairs the Congressional Progressive Caucus, expressed her dissatisfaction with the characterization  progressives do not support law enforcement. She emphasized the need for accountability to ensure the safety of Black and Brown individuals in their communities, but failed to mention Asians and Whites, wonder why?

The resolution, proposed by Representatives Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Ken Buck (R-Colo.), faced criticism from Democrats who disagreed with its portrayal of progressives and its failure to address underlying issues. Biggs quoted Jayapal's previous statements advocating for reduced funding for law enforcement, while Buck highlighted Nadler's support for substantial cuts to the police budget in New York.

Despite the disagreements, the resolution passed, concluding a week during which House Republicans presented several bills to support law enforcement. One bill aimed to make assaults on police officers by illegal aliens a deportable offense, receiving support from 36 Democrats in a 255-175 vote. The House also approved the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act, allowing police to purchase and use retired service weapons instead of destroying them after retirement. This bill received backing from 13 Democrats in a 232-198 vote.

Out of all the bills introduced during the week, Thursday's resolution received the most votes from Democrats, reflecting the division on the issue of defunding or abolishing the police.

In conclusion. The Dems are disappointed they can’t destroy America by turning it into a lawless 3rd world nation without Police or protection to the citizenry, so they will have to try something else. What type of nation discounts its own citizens to encourage criminals to prey on helpless and unarmed citizens? Women, children, Grandparents, disabled, minorities and working meen are all vulnerable to a police-less society.
