Dems Sneaky Trick Fails

national-debt-spending.jpg?profile=RESIZE_400x(PatriotHQ) Dems are addicted to spending not just in the billions but in the trillions especially money they don’t have. They imagine all they have to do is print more money and all their dreams will come true. But harsh reality has set in. Republicans rebuffed their feeble attempt to take over the debt and feed it, instead they lost and now the debt will be starved!

Get a load of this! 210 Democrats endorse a plan to bypass House GOP in the battle over the debt limit. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries emphasized the importance of exploring all legislative options. McCarthy does not have a positive outlook on debt limit negotiations with the White House.

What? Almost all House Democrats have supported a move to circumvent House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and bring forth a clean increase in the debt ceiling for a vote, without including spending cuts for the federal government.

Under the guidance of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democrats started gathering signatures for a discharge petition on Wednesday. Discharge petitions can compel a vote on legislation, even against the objections of the majority party, but it requires a majority of House lawmakers to sign it.

As of Thursday afternoon, 210 House Democrats have signed the discharge petition, aiming to force a vote on increasing the debt ceiling. The three Democrats who have yet to sign are Reps. Mary Peltola of Alaska, Ed Case of Hawaii, and Jared Golden of Maine.

Republicans have rejected the idea of raising the debt ceiling without conditions. They have passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act, which would raise the borrowing limit by $1.5 trillion while also reversing key Biden administration initiatives and reducing the federal government's discretionary levels to their 2022 levels.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called on fellow Democrats to join an effort to bypass House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the Republican majority on the debt limit.

Peltola's office confirmed  she will sign the petition and cited a statement explaining the delay due to a family tragedy. Peltola said, "While I continue to support ongoing negotiations by all parties, I believe a discharge petition to bring a clean debt ceiling solution to the floor can be a valuable backup option. I am currently mourning the loss of my mother, but I intend to sign the discharge petition as soon as I am able to return to D.C."

Golden's office referred to a previous report where the congressman criticized the discharge petition. Case's office has not responded to a request for comment.

A discharge petition requires a simple majority of 218 votes, but Democrats currently hold 213 seats.

Miracle! Republicans, across the board, have been united in their demand for spending cuts to accompany any increase in the debt limit.

Jeffries urged every Democrat to sign the petition in a letter to colleagues, sent on Wednesday morning, despite expressing some optimism about the previous day's meeting with congressional leaders and the White House on the debt limit. Jeffries stated, "After the White House meeting, I am hopeful  there is a real pathway to reach an acceptable, bipartisan solution  prevents a default. However, considering the approaching June 1 deadline and the urgency of the situation, it is crucial to explore all legislative options in case no agreement is reached."

During a later press conference, McCarthy dismissed the effort, stating, "I don't think it will gain any traction," and referring to the fact  nearly all Republican senators have voiced support for his stance. He questioned the sensibility, productivity, reasonableness, and responsibility of the approach, suggesting it would contribute to a default under Biden's leadership.

In conclusion. The Dems dug a debt grave for America and are angry they can’t get their filthy hands on more fresh printed money. For once the Republicans have united (circle the calendar) and are holding the line. Lets see how much backbone  (or is it balls)  the Elephant Party has grown. Shall we!!??
