President Reagan should have blown the Ayatollah away right after he was sworn into office; however, our military had eroded after Vietnam due to the politicians and Generals/Admirals of the time being weak. Reagan dd rebuild our military into the most modern and capable leading to the collapse of the Soviet Union; however, he failed to remove the Iranian Threat. I fully believe that Vice President Bush had much to do with leaving Iran to grow into a bigger and bigger threat and I know first-hand that President George W. Bush avoided the obvious by taking us from Afghanistan into Iraq. Iraq was the only real check on Iran and George W. Bush instigated the fall of Iraq and its subjugation to Tehran, exacerbating the problems in the Middle East. There is no doubt in my mind that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is NOT a real counter to Iran. Nevertheless, 46 years of increasing terrorism in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States all because of a long list of feckless Presidents who failed to do what was right for the United States and the World. President Trump will go down in history for ending the Iranian Nuclear Program and setting the conditions for a transofrmation in Iran. This is NOT the end of the story but just the beginning.
In 1786, the new United States found that it had to deal very directly with the tenets of the Muslim religion. Since President Jefferson, we have had to deal with Islamism. We will have this problem until Jesus returns. Keeping them in check is an on going process.
At last President Trump cleans up another mess, and this time in Iran with one swoop only. Case closed. Thank you, President Trump!
Have we ever had a president who accomplished so much so quickly and so decisively?
No, we haven't.
This is correct, I remember very well. I was in Fort Lauderdale when this happen. Idiotic or a fool of Jimmy Carter deposed the Shaa of Iran. The Shaa was sick with cancer and eventually came to the US for treatments. Then good old Jimmy kick him out of the US, and he went broken hearted to Egypt where he eventually passed away. While all this was happening, Jimmy was told to reduce the embassy personnel. Instead he transfer some more people into the embassy, and they were over ran and taken hostage. What did Jimmy did? He hid in the Rose Garden at the White House. It cost him his reelection. They were let loose after Regan was made President. Since then, we have been at war with the Ayatollahs.
President Trump has had so much to clean up through out the world because of Carter, who I agree was nice; loved this country; but naive. As for Obama and Biden; both their goals were to destroy the country. They are not naive; they are evil! However, I am glad that the Trump's goal is not regime change. If that is needed, let the Iranians rise up and accomplish it.
I agree
Carter was a nice guy and loved this country, his big problem was he was naive, not ready to properly deal with the cruel world. We should never elect a pe4son because they are good, nice, looks the part........we need people who are able to deal with our economy and know how to handle the enemy!
Jimmy Carter was the worse President in History, until Obama and Biden! I don't think that Jimmy hated America and tried to destroy it like Biden and Obama did. He was just lousy, stupidly gave away the Panama Canal!
Sorry, you over spoke the worse was Biden.
