  • If one looks at US Federal Spending going back to the Housing Crisis and Financial collapse of 2008/2009, you will see that the US Government never reduced the 30% in spending from that "crisis!"  And then, after COVID and the 60% increase in Federal Spending, the Federal Government never reverted back to pre-COVID levels of spending.  What is really irritating about all of this is the fact that both the Demoncrats and the Republicans went along with these drastic increases and never did anything to return to pre-crisis spending!

    • David, I respectfully need to disagree. President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill balances the budget just like he promised. There is no issue with the debt ceiling anymore, either, which would give the demonrats additional leverage.

    • Paul, According to the CBO US Federal Spending for FY2025 was $7.00 Trillion while Revenue was $5.163 Trillion with a deficit of $1.837 Trillion.  The Projection for FY2026 (if we can get a budget passed) is Spending = $7.30 Trillion, Revenue = $5.40 Trillion and a Deficit = $1.90 Trillion.  The OBBB began to bend the deficit; however, the problem is growth in Mandatory Programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the 88 means tested welfare programs ($4.228 Trillion), plus the Interest on the Debt ($0.952 Trillion).  If we ONLY paid out for Constitutional Programs, the total spending per year would be around $2.12 Trillion.  Social Welfare programs are the main drivers of spending and the ELEPHANT in the room which none of our Congressmen and Senators are willing to address.

    • The CBO? I rather trust President Trump than some entity run by Congress. The Big Beautiful Bill will balance the budget just like President Trump promised.

  • Awe, it wasn't part of the overall plan, was it, to install and complete OWG? Get everybody on govco assistance, and bingo! Everyone WILL do as the OWG says. And it ain't even math. It's called thinking.
