I see almost on a daily basis new Pharmaceutical products for medical issues that I've never heard of. Do they just come up with these themselves? Personally, I don't think Pharmaceuticals should be allowed to be advertised to the public, that should be the Doctor's recommendation or decision.
Sergeants Major... I fully agree that Pharmaceutical Companies should be banned from advertising. This used to be the case in the United States, but I am sure that the Pharmaceutical lobby paid our illustrious representatives and senators to lift this sanction.
Col., I've know and seen to many people that have major issues because they take to many and to much medication because most Doctors have have no idea what the combination of them will do. Then they see a Pharmacist and they will take them off half or more and save their life. It's all a money thing, the don't care about the patient.
YES, advertising is the worst thing! People shouldn't be encouraged to tell their doctor what they need, it should be the doctor's decision.
And big Pharma's sales reps manage to convince our personal care providers that every product they sell is the miracle treatment their patients have been waiting for!
