Another bright idea from the sick and twisted mind of the liberal mob! They beat their chests and proclaim green energy will save us, but nothing can be future from the truth. The expansion of existing power grids and the rebuilding of the power system will cost trillions of dollars and create a greater pollution threat than simple upgrading of the electric grid.
But now the middle class not only have to pay for the ‘Green New Deal’ through their nose but it is becoming impossible to use! Green energy projects take years and billions of dollars to plug into existing electricity grids.
Look at this! Homeowners install solar panels but can’t use them! Another liberal lie!
Get this. Stacie, a Colorado housewife, borrowed $30,000 to install solar panels on her roof after President Joe Biden stated they could get a tax return. However, those panels remained idle over six months later. The solution was simple: Stacie's power business needed to connect the solar panels to its power supply, but there wasn't enough room.
Due to demand from Biden's green handouts and power grid capacity, thousands of green energy projects like Stacie's are powerless. "When you put out $30,000, sign loans, and don't have a working product, it's frustrating," Stacie told a local reporter. "No communication."
Stacie's case highlights Biden's green energy plan's flaws. The Inflation Reduction Act invested hundreds of billions in green energy, spurring a wave of wind and solar projects. However, America's aging electricity grid is unprepared. Nearly 1,300 gigawatts of green energy projects await grid connection, according to a Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory analysis. The nation's electric system has only 1,250 gigawatts TOTAL!
- At the end of 2022, over 10,000 energy projects, mostly solar, were waiting for grid connections, according to the Berkeley analysis.
- PJM Interconnection, the largest U.S. grid operator, announced in April that it will delay inspections of over 1,000 solar projects ready to connect to power for two years.
- Link approval takes four years on average for developers.
- Xcel advised a Minnesota user that connecting a rooftop solar system to the grid would take 15 years.
Even the approved aren't always safe. Some developers have received approval only to discover that their local grid is full, requiring expensive grid upgrades.
Power the Future founder and executive director Daniel Turner criticized Biden for spending "billions of dollars in green cash without proper planning." Turner said the power grid issue proves the government's green energy market promotion is a bad idea.
"The government comes in with these solar mandates," "Then they're surprised that the power grid isn't ready for those mandates." ""The manager has never opened Walmart and said, 'Holy cow, our shelves aren't stocked.'" The government always impedes market efficiency."
Biden's solar energy drive has more issues than an inadequate electrical system. China leads the solar industry supply chain and produces 80% of solar panels. To satisfy Biden's green energy spending, U.S. solar companies have turned to Chinese goods.
However, Congress is increasingly supporting taxes on Chinese solar panels from the past, which might cost them. These levies would cost US developers at least $1 billion in fees. This is why the solar industry emphasizes China imports.
The Solar Energy Industries Association warned Friday, "The United States can't make enough solar panels and cells to meet demand." OMG!!
In April, Biden stated he would veto any bill because Chinese tariffs would damage "demand for reliable and clean energy" and "create deep uncertainty for jobs and investments in the solar supply chain and the solar installation market."
