So, about two decades ago I began to say let's have the military on the border. Have a separate branch strictly for border control. Keep our volunteer military as is, but have a draft for those who choose not to serve voluntarily. Men and women at 18, right out of Highschool both serve 2 years on the border, they are strickly border, cannot be deployed anywhere. While there, they protect the border, go through the same basic training as all others, they also must take classes in world and American history, study our constitution, world geography, take a language class. Those who maintain a minimum of B average, when done with their service get their tuition paid (at any college they qualify) for two years as our thanks for keeping us safe.
this would give our youth a chance to have something in common regardless what level of society they came from, something certain to look forward to, a purpose when done with highschool or 18, keep them out of the grip of leftism until their brains are less mush, we'd have a well trained and ready military, and entire country armed.
WELL ILONA with that "overflow" of Common Sense and a feel for organizational tactics; i would nominate YOU for MR, TRUMP'S SECRETARY OF DEFENSE. Keep those criteria in mind; we just might need them.

Sadly, those running the military are as bad as those running colleges!!!!! The military brass are all in on the "woke" agenda of the destruction of America!!!!!
The law generally prevents the president from using the military as a domestic police force. The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law.
Abbott is not the president and he can deputize an 'army' of fully armed combatants. So, good luck and keep marching!

At least he is doing something, something the federal government is specifically tasked to do but rather than doing their duty the biden regime is ignoring the Constitution to persecute conservatives for demanding the Constitution be observed!!!!!!!!!!

....and if you read above you'll see I want a lot more commitment to the border than each border state doing their own thing, I want our military on all borders at all times, a new branch committed to the border where the youth of America can find common ground, patriotism, love of country, and learn reality.

I'm not saying he shouldn't, I wish the border states would have done it decades ago. The reason for the question is to point out the failure of the federal government to do their number one job.....protect the country from an invasion, a reminder that we need to go after ALL those who neglected their duty, including the Biden/kamala team!
It's a very good idea! But we need to have a military post approximately every 20 miles apart throughout the total southern "and northern" border until the fence that President Trump started is completed. National Guard Soldiers throughout our country "if their state allows" can do maximum annual time without being considered active duty time. That should be about thirty eight days a year of training "protecting the border" instead of two days monthly and two weeks of annual training. Most NG units are combat or combat support units. Just a thought.
