The chaplain, who wishes to remain anonymous for sadly obvious reasons, has flown his Thin Blue Line flag since National Police Officers Day in May.
He told Fox News 31’s Deborah Takahara earlier this week, “I believe that’s why I’m being targeted — because I’m associated with them. I believe it’s just because it’s everything going on in the world right now, in this country.”
The notice from his HOA insisted that the well-known flag flown to show support for all police officers is actually a “white lives matter” symbol.
Or as our mysterious chaplain said, “There’s nothing about racism at all there. It’s simply saying, ‘We stand for you. You continue to do all the great things you do’.”
“I serve with so many different officers of so many different ethnic backgrounds. I’ve shared it with them. This isn’t a white lives, this is a blue lives matter because they do.”

This is probably a violation of his civil rights or the 1st Amendment... however the Chaplin will have to take this to court at his expense to reverse the HOA's ruling. HOA;s are subject to local, state and federal laws... their rules may not violate a property owner's civil or Constitutional rights.
Don't take it down - tell the HOA board to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Once they are confronted and promissed possible legal action, they usually back off, as the cowards they are.
I was the president of an HOA and actually wrote up most of the later corrected restrictive by-laws agreed to by the majority of the homeowners. Unless the HOA has SPECIFIC restrictions such as flag location, pole height, size of flag, flag identity, etc. they cannot, as an afterthought, impose isolated restrictions on their own. I would also wonder if there is a penalty for HMO violations and if so they would need to be clearly defined. If not I would doubt the HMO would have a leg to stand on.
If it were me I would continue to fly the flag and ignore their threats. It also seems the HOA is confused with the meaning of his flag and that makes the chaplins argument not only valid but would give him a strong case in court.
Most of these issues polnt to All Lives Matter!
This is a good way to get yourself killed; take either side you want.
If he feels so strongly about the flag and the HOA community already is aware of his identity why then is he remaining anonymous? Speak out and be vocal about such an important issue or just admit you are a coward is my take.
