I became livid during Republicans questioning of Hur, because they made it too easy for Democrat congressional members to do what they are traditionally known to do in defense of a party member for wrongdoing, regardless of unquestionable evidence against him/her, i.e., by engaging in distractive tactics like comparing what Trump did or didn't versus what Biden did or didn't do such as cooperating with investigators. To prevent that, Jim Jordan should have from the very beginning, read the following from 18 U.S. Code § 793 (f) (Gathering, Transmitting or Losing Defense Information): "Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer—Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both". Afterwards he should have said to Hur something like, "According to your report, Joe Biden did in fact violate this code; therefore, you and Attorney General Garland were obligated to refer charges against him for grand jury action, regardless of your perceived evaluation of his age and mental stability. And by not doing so, you both deliberately violated the code that's designed to not allow violators to escape prosecution. Now to my Democrat colleagues, there is absolutely nothing legitimate you can say to negate the fact that charges should have been referred for grand jury action, because Mr. Hur and Attorney General Garland had no authority to circumvent the code by failing to refer charges.".
