The Tora and the Talmud both spoke out severely against unnecessary abortion, even in the case of rape. Human life was regarded as sacred to the Jews and the application of the Ten Cimmandments, and the specific commandment, "thou shalt not kill" applied to the baby(ies) in the womb." A Hebrew person who killed a pregnant woman, and also killed her unborn baby, was culpable of two murders according to the Old Testament and the Talmud. The topic of abortion never came up in a conversation with Jesus in the Gospels, but we know that Jesus opposed unnatural unnecessary abortion as much as he did stealing, lying, coveting, and homosexuality/sexual sins. Jesus was God of the Old Testament and identified himself as such to the Pharisees and Saducees. Hence, he, the Savior of the world, would not have advocated something during his personal ministry that he had, as God in the Spirit, forbade under the penalty of death.
I am pretty sure that, sadly, many, probably millions, of television/Internet viewers, members of the electorate, will be quoting Joe Scarborough as an authority on Hebrew abortion, having perceived him as speaking the truth; just as millions of second-world war Germans perceived Nazi Joseph Goebbels as speaking truth about the Jewish people.
Pro-Life Versus Pro-Chose The Bible is very clear! You can’t be a follower of Jesus Christ and believe in abortion! Life begins with a single heart beat (usually 8-10 weeks), at that point the child is alive and has a soul. To stop it is premeditated murder!!
