Bolton is afraid that If Trump can bring peace to Ukraine then he will keep another campiegn promise and America will see the repubs get stuff done.
This Russia Ukraine war is a great example for how much easier it is to prevent than to cure!
I'm not sure what it will take to stop this, it is a senseless war but Putin is not likely to step back, he wants Ukraine and everything else the world allows him to take over. He wants to go down in history as one who expanded Russia, the conquering hero of the country...not of his people, just land mass.
Putin is old, he either acts soon, or he will not achieve his desires, this makes him more determined, less reasonable, he does not want to back down, he does not want Trump to be the peacemaker, the ender of wars, this is not about today....it's all about what ends up in the history books. Russia, Putin's Rrussia cannot walk away....he cannot allow the eagle to win over the bear, and knowing Putin as I do, this reality frightens me. We will see what happens in Alaska, if he is going to dig in his heals even more?
If Russia wants his youth to live and prosper, they will have to take out Putin!
