It's time for the President to exercise his constitutional powers, as guaranteed by the constitution! Supreme Court ruling limits lower courts’ power to block presidential orders, another victory for Trump and for America.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday ruled that federal district courts can no longer issue nationwide injunctions that stop presidential policies from taking effect across the entire country. President Donald Trump quickly celebrated the decision, calling it a victory against what he described as overreach by activist judges.

Speaking at the White House shortly after the decision was announced, Trump said the Court had put an end to what he called “a colossal abuse of power.” He accused “a handful of radical left judges” of trying to override the authority of the president and block policies that Americans had voted for.

The 6–3 decision came from a set of cases where district judges in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington state blocked Trump’s executive order banning birthright citizenship nationwide. Those injunctions had kept the policy from being enforced anywhere in the country, even though the lawsuits were brought by a limited number of plaintiffs.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett, writing for the majority, argued that lower courts do not have the constitutional or statutory authority to issue sweeping orders that apply beyond the specific disputes before them.

“A universal injunction can be justified only as an exercise of equitable authority, yet Congress has granted federal courts no such power,” Barrett wrote. She said that courts are supposed to resolve individual cases, not control national policy by default.

The majority opinion was joined by Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, and Chief Justice John Roberts.

Barrett also criticized the dissent by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, who argued that limiting injunctions would strip courts of their ability to protect constitutional rights. Barrett called Jackson’s reasoning inconsistent with the nation’s legal tradition.

Justice Jackson, along with Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, warned that the decision could allow presidents to violate the Constitution while judges stand by, unable to stop harm from spreading beyond the original plaintiffs.

“This ruling allows the president to violate the Constitution,” Jackson wrote, describing it as “an existential threat to the rule of law.”

Trump praised the justices who sided with him, calling their reasoning “brilliant.” He said the Justice Department will now move quickly to put policies back into place that had been frozen by nationwide court orders.

Steve Eichler, JD - "This ruling requires the lower courts to limit their decisions to the specific parties involved, rather than imposing a nationwide halt on government actions. The decision alters the landscape for contesting presidential actions in the judicial system, granting the executive branch greater latitude to implement its policies during ongoing legal proceedings."

Final Word: Yes, America will be great again, one decision at a time!
