Remember when 33 Illinois counties voted to explore separating from the state? Turns out, that movement never went away—it’s only gaining momentum.

The last time a U.S. state successfully split from an existing state was in 1863, when West Virginia broke away from Virginia during the American Civil War. Its going to take something like that to make this work for Illinois.
Crook County would be a more appropriate name.
And Chicago will watch their beautiful city trashed.
