Peggy Noonan has been ridiculed on X for her lament over the Washington Post’s near collapse. Noonan worries that without journalists, Americans won’t be informed. Noonan at Wall Street Journal: I fear sometimes that few people really care about journalism, but we are dead without it. Someday something bad will happen, something terrible on a national scale, and the thing we’ll need most, literally to survive, is information. Reliable information—a way to get it, and then to get it to the public. That is what journalism is, getting the information. You have to think of it as part of your country’s survival system. Maybe the government will or won’t tell you the truth about what’s going on, maybe the Pentagon will or won’t, but if you know you’ve got this fabulous island of broken toys, professional journalists working for a reputable news organization, you’ve got a real chance of learning what’s true. (Wall Street Journal) Noonan apparently still believes the Steele Dossier is real, Biden was “sharp as a tack,” a Racoon Dog started COVID, social distancing is “science,” the Covington Kids are Nazis, and that Jussie Smollett was attacked by white supremacists in MAGA Country. |

They are not newscasters. They are witches serving up poison brews for mass consumption.
Jea9, I totall agree. President Trump needs to establish a truth commission to ensure that the media doesn't spew any lies anymore. It is the commie lib media that is destryoing this country, which is why it needs to be eliminated. This is the only way we can maintain our American way of life, our freedom, and liberties.
And that's a tough nut to crack. Journalistic integrity when there are multiple ways to construct a thing. When 0 was usurping our Office, no other voice was allowed. They were all given the storyline and they all went with it. The good thing now is that Covid literally burst open those pipes of one storyline. It took the rise of platforms, 1st, Telegram and Rumble. Then more and more. So I think those multiple pipelines give us what we need a long as we don't sit on our dufuses and don't put any work into finding out what's true. I DK if we can ever go back to fewer news sources.
