Member suggested subject. WOW! It’s been a bumpy ride, but was it worth it? Nearly two years into his second term, President Donald Trump has delivered on core campaign commitments that defined the “Make America Great Again” agenda:
- Securing the border
- Expanding energy production
- Cutting taxes for working families
- Prioritizing American sovereignty and industry
This is far from a complete list; these are the highlights.
While results remain mixed on inflation and some foreign-policy goals, the administration’s record shows concrete action on the issues that propelled Trump’s return to office.
Illegal Alien Invasion Stopped! Illegal border crossings have collapsed. Customs and Border Protection reported roughly 8,870 encounters in August 2026, down from about 47,000 in December 2024 and far below the prior administration's peaks. The White House states that catch-and-release ended and that no illegal aliens have been released into the interior for many consecutive months. Millions have left through formal removals and self-deportations, producing the first negative net migration in decades. Fentanyl trafficking indicators also declined sharply.
Energy Independence! Energy and tax policy followed similar patterns of follow-through. Oil and gas production reached or approached record levels, LNG exports set new highs, and drilling permits increased substantially. The United States again withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord and rolled back certain Biden-era mandates on vehicles and environmental rules.
Tax Cuts! On July 4, 2025, Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which made permanent the major individual rate cuts from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, raised the standard deduction, increased the child tax credit, and created temporary above-the-line deductions for tip income, overtime pay, and certain auto-loan interest. These measures matched explicit campaign pledges on taxes and energy dominance.
Deregulation - Reductions in DEI-related federal spending and programs, rescission of the prior administration’s Title IX rewrite, and major private-sector investment announcements in manufacturing and steel.
Stock Markets Highs - Multiple record highs in 2025, and manufacturing activity expanded for consecutive months after earlier contraction.
Public Safety - Metrics in several cities showed declines in homicides and certain violent crimes.
Key delivered items include:
- Dramatic reduction in illegal border crossings and end to catch-and-release.
- Record or near-record domestic oil, gas, and LNG output plus expanded drilling access.
- Permanent extension of 2017 tax-rate cuts plus new deductions for tips, overtime, and seniors.
- Rollback of select environmental mandates and climate-related international commitments.
- Surge in ICE enforcement capacity, visa revocations, and reduced refugee admissions.
- Manufacturing investment and factory-related job gains alongside broader deregulation.
Critics note that inflation rose to 3.7 percent by September 2026 (above the rate inherited), gasoline prices climbed significantly amid tariffs and the ongoing conflict with Iran, and job growth slowed.
What about the “no new wars” pledge? Military operations involving Iran were a ‘no choice' action, which is not a war but an action to preserve and protect the people of the United States. If America can not protect itself from a promised nuclear attack because of political pressure, then we have been defeated by political talking heads before firing a shot.
Will these kept promises ultimately make America great again—or deepen division and resentment?
IMO - The fact is that America was a runaway train headed toward disaster, and now it is slowly reversing and will soon be on its way to a brighter destination.

This issue was suggested by one of our good members: “Most of the suggestions are tapping into fear and anger but I think there is lots of good news around. Write about the promises President Trump has kept, how he made America great again, how the Big Beautiful Bill has made life better for every American, how the economy is the best ever, etc. You can listen to the speeches of President Trump to get additional ideas about all the good he has done for America and Americans.”
