Isn't Fair and Tax an oxymoron?

  • Sooo, how is the Govenment going to screw us under this tax plan? We will still be paying for the Democrat's fiasco somehow.  Trump said it best, only a fool would pay a nickel more than he is owes  or a nickel less than he owes!

BTW, what does Rep. stand for, REPublican or REPresenative? Which Party does Carter belong to?

    • He's a Republican!

  • Dear IRS. Your tax Code says WHAT????

    Title 31 section 321(d)2

    (d)
(1). The Secretary of the Treasury may accept, hold, administer, and use gifts and bequests of property, both real and personal, for the purpose of aiding or facilitating the work of the Department of the Treasury. Gifts and bequests of money and the proceeds from sales of other property received as gifts or bequests shall be deposited in the Treasury in a separate fund and shall be disbursed on order of the Secretary of the Treasury. Property accepted under this paragraph, and the proceeds therefof, shall be used as nearly as possible in accordance with the term of the gift or bequest.
(2). For purposes of the Federal income, estate, and gift taxes, property accepted under paragraph (1) shall be considered a s gift or bequest to or for the use of the United States.

Now go to Title 3124. Exemption from Taxation; Then Go to 18 US, Code Sect. 8. Obligation Defined.

There is nothing wrong with a strategy to avoid the payment of taxes. The Internal Revenue Code doesn’t prevent that. — William H. Rehnquist

The first 9 pages of the Internal Revenue Code define income; the remaining 1,100 pages spin the web of exceptions and preferences. — Warren G. Magnuson

Where there is an income tax, the just man will pay more and the unjust less on the same income. — Plato

[The Tax Code is] a disgrace to the human race. — Jimmy Carter

  • It's a complicated mess for sure

  • No, it is unlikely that the plan will be enacted... by the way, there is no such thing as a fair tax plan... All tax plans end up bastardized and unfair.  Any tax plan has to define taxable income... which in and of itself introduces unfair differences in what individuals claim as taxable income.  Defining taxable income is a very slippery slope to negotiate and makes any claim for a fair tax plan ridiculous.

    • Your thought is a good one, the popular number for a one percentage tax is 9%. I would do that in a heart beat!

9% of what? the few crumbs left after inflation and the Biden ecomony downturn. Why do we even have a tax system, just keep printing money!

    • Define INCOME... what is taxable income and how can one fairly define it?
