RFK JR: "Ever wonder why... the school systems don't teach any real life skills anymore?"

We had a Foreign Language, 'Superior' English, Shop, Sewing, American history, European History.

Later in life, when I rented a bedroom to a Japanese foreign student, here to earn his Master's, he said when Japanese students enter high school, they take 4 yrs of Japanese, 4 yrs of English and 4 yrs of Chinese. He also had memorized the Periodic Table.

Now we have kids who cannot count change, write script, define anything, don't know legal from illegal, and just hate. Anything. Anything at all. But social media, masters of that. For what?

I had students who had never read a book, judging that because of (his) not understanding margins. And not caring, either.

Seven students in one (college) term who could not read a ruler. (One was a foreign student.) I also had one student who stood up and boasted to the whole class that he had learned everything Junior year and they just did the same exact projects senior year. That was a Tech Prep student. Another joke idea from the Master's crowd. Just take education out and get on the computer. Make it fun.

The system want ot keep the students government dependent so that with skills they can care for themselves. Also, 'Skill' teaching can be measured.
