Salt Lake City: County Mayor Jenny Wilson proposes a 20% property tax increase on residents to give county employees a raise

This is NOT a US Government issue! It is a Utah State Government and Salt Lake City County Government issue! Most County Mayor/County Executive and other local elected officials' minimum Salaries are set my legislation at the State-level of Government and this is the case in Utah. The local government can also decide to increase the salary for local officials; however, this normally requires a vote of the people under referendum. If you compare the annual salaries listed in this article for Mayor and the three Deputy Mayors with the salaries for Governor and other State officer positions, you will notice that Salt Lake City County Government Officials are being paid more than their State level counterparts. The citizens of Salt Lake City County, a municipality, need to rise up and demand that the county officials make no more than the State designated minimum for their positions. Nevertheless, this is what always happens when you vote Demoncrats into office. They always think they should be paid lavishly while they really don't have the skill required to do their job, thus the reason for three Deputy Mayors in Salt Lake City County. The poor taxpayers are having to pay unreasonably high salaries to four people to get one job accomplished; however, these idiot citizens are allowing their Municipal Elected Officials to get away with robbing them blind!
