Republican Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania in his farewell address to Senate on Thursday, shared his views on the current political scene, advice for the Senate, and predictions for the future of the country.
Without specifically mentioning the previous president Trump, Toomey encouraged Republicans to put an end to the MAGA movement.
Let me say this for my Republican colleagues: “Our party cannot be about or indebted to any one guy, that is not our party at all," Toomey remarked.
"We are the political embodiment of this enormous, nationwide center-right alliance more than half of Americans on a good day. And I sincerely hope we resist the urge to follow the redistributive, isolationist, nativist, and protectionist policies some have suggested we adopt. These, in my opinion, are at odds with the fundamental principles held by the bulk of the coalition members. More importantly, I believe those concepts harm our nation.
Toomey advised Democrats to think outside of elections in order to save democracy.
Elections serve as a means for holding the government accountable to the people, whose permission serves as our only source of legitimacy, according to Toomey. "We really undermine our democracy, which of course is really our republic, because we weaken the accountability of our government," states the author of the statement, "when we hand over Congress's responsibilities to unelected and therefore unaccountable parts of our government, be the courts, or independent regulators, or executive branch agencies."
In short, he wants to crush the MAGA movement, side with the Dems to save their brand of Democracy and galvanize the Republican Party against the will of over half our nation.
Thank G*d this was his farewell speech. I would hate to think We the People would have to spend our hard-earned money to fire that son of a bitch!

At least this rino is honest about his intentions. We couldn't say the same about the GOP leadership who plays us like a fiddle. They always expect us to choose the lesser of two evils and that is how Toomey got into the Senate in the first place.
