Not only do the vast majority of Federal Employees work from home, but even if they do come to work all they do is manage the CONTRACTORS who are actually doing all of the work. No matter what government office you go into these days, the ratio of Federal Employees to Contractors is 20% versus 80%. Another point, now that the Federal Government has moved to the cloud and digital transformation, the Government Employees don't have the savy to operate the systems but completely rely on the contractors to do it for them.
Defund the positions/jobs of those who have abused their employment... Eliminate their position. One doesn't need to fire them... eliminate their civil service positions.
There is no civil service protection to appeal the removal of one's government position/job by Congress.

But Col. Nelson that would be a logical solution. Somehow I doubt that anyone in the Government could think of it! That includes [sad to say] most of the Republicans in Congress!
