13674341271?profile=RESIZE_584xWe the People must hold those who swore to uphold the constitution and obey our law accountable for having deserted and having willfully abandoned their post in time of duty; their hostile actions are nothing less than a grave offense.

In an antagonistic move that has rattled the foundation of the Republic of Texas, a coalition of rogue Democrat state legislators recently fled the state to deny a quorum in the Texas House.

  • Their aim: Block desperately needed flood relief legislation.
  • Their method: Open desertion of the legislative process.

What some are calling a bold stand against gerrymandering, others have rightly identified as a constitutional crisis, and one that raises urgent questions about duty, authority, and the boundaries of protest.

An angry Governor Greg Abbott, House Speaker Dustin Burrows, and Attorney General Ken Paxton have drawn a sharp line in the sand: elected officials who abandon their posts in defiance of legislative procedure are not engaging in civil disobedience; they are committing a mutiny and have deserted and have willfully abandoned their post in time of duty.

Elected officials are not private citizens with the luxury of symbolic protest. They are public servants, entrusted with representing their constituents by showing up, especially when the stakes are high. By fleeing to states like Illinois and staging national press events instead of engaging in debate, Texas Democrats didn't just boycott a vote; they boycotted the very democratic system they claim to protect.

In any other field, military, law enforcement, or medicine, willful abandonment of one’s duties in a time of need is not tolerated. In fact, it’s punished. If a firefighter left his station during a five-alarm blaze, the firefighter would be discharged. If a soldier abandoned his post during battle, he would be court-martialed.

Why should legislators be treated differently? If this grievous attack on law and order is not corrected and they are not brought to justice, then they will set the stage for other radical groups to simply walk out, not just on their duties but on the American people.

In other words, this incident sets a dangerous precedent. If lawmakers can shut down the legislative process simply by walking away, then our system of checks and balances collapses under the weight of political theater. Today it's Texas. Tomorrow it could be Congress itself.

Speaker Burrows' decision to issue civil arrest warrants was not just a procedural response; it was a defense of institutional integrity. Governor Abbott’s invocation of Texas Attorney General Opinion No. KP-0382 to potentially expel the absentees underscores the seriousness of the offense. It's not merely a partisan spat; it's a crisis of governance.

Steve Eichler, JD, published a statement of policy in the Patriot Command Center. Texas Democrats Who Fled the State Are Blocking Desperately Needed Flood Relief Legislation

Patriot Command Center Official Position: “It is imperative to draw a clear and uncompromising line between loyalty to duty and betrayal of sworn obligations. In recent conduct observed among certain state legislators, we witness behavior that, by military standards, would be classified unequivocally as desertion.

Let us be clear: these individuals took an oath of service. They accepted assigned responsibilities. They were granted authority akin to rank. Under Texas law, they are even authorized to carry and, if necessary, employ firearms in the execution of their duties. This places them, functionally and symbolically, on a parallel track with military personnel.

In the Armed Forces, desertion, willful abandonment of one’s post in time of duty, is not a political gesture; it is a grave offense. It is met with immediate apprehension, judicial proceedings under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and, if convicted, severe penalties. The chain of command does not tolerate dereliction.

Therefore, I assert that these legislators, who have deliberately abandoned their post at a critical hour, should be treated no differently. They have abdicated their responsibility to the people and to the constitutional process they swore to uphold. They should be located, apprehended, and brought before an appropriate legal forum, akin to a court-martial, to answer for their actions.

Anything less is a disservice to the men and women in uniform who live and die by their oaths every day.”

Immediately the progressive talking heads flew into action, bellowing their criticism. They argue the Democrats were making a moral stand against an unjust redistricting map. But even noble objections must be voiced within the framework of duty. The proper venue for protest is the House floor, not a press conference 1,000 miles away.

However, the American people are viewing these actions as cowardly, believing those who fled their duty were too weak to face, voice, and fight for their point of view but instead went into hiding, avoiding responsibility.

The optics were unmistakable: chartered flights, media appearances, and defiant speeches. But beneath the theatrics lies a stark truth: these lawmakers willingly, strategically, and proudly sabotaged the legislative process they were elected to engage in.

Attorney General Ken Paxton called their actions “a cowardly desertion.” Speaker Burrows promised to "use every tool" to compel their return. Governor Abbott has activated law enforcement to locate and detain them. Their message is clear: “if you wear the mantle of public service, you don't get to take it off when it becomes inconvenient.”

Those who abandoned their posts must answer to the people, not in distant press conferences, but in the halls they were elected to fill.

Final Word: True Patriots view the actions of the Democrat officeholders as cowardly they fled and abandoned their duties and now must be extradited to Texas to face justice and nothing less.

  • GOD BLESS TEXAS!!

  • I heard the governor is able to remove them from their position for this stunt.......yes? Several have already been arrested.

    • As always the Governor has to go through due process especially because the deserters are in an opposing party. They don't have to obey the law but he does! Yikes!
