First, there are many types of non-profits in the United States, including, Religious (Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, etc.), Educational (Schools, Universities, Scholarship Foundations, etc), Human Services (Food Banks, Homeless Shelters, Family Support Groups, some Veteran Services Organizations), Arts & Culture (Museums, Theaters, Historical Societies, etc.), Public Society Benefit (Civic Engagement, Community Foundations, Think Tanks, Policy Institutes, Social Welfare, Technology, etc.), Health (Medical Research, Treatment Access, Global Health, Mental Health, Maternal & Child Health, etc.), Environment & Animals, International Affairs, and Military Veteran.
100% of Large Non-Profits (>$5M budget) have paid leadership and staff and these spend roughly 50% of their budget on salaries.
95% of Mid-Size Non-Profits ($500K to $5M budget) have paid leadership and staff and these spend roughly 40% of their budget on salaries.
85% of Small Non-Profits (<$500K budget) have paid leadership and staff and hese spend roughly 30% of their budget on salaries.
I know, firsthand, that the vast majority of the Veteran Service Organizations (American Legion, VFW, DAV, etc.) on average have no paid employees at the local level and usually on two at the state level and no more than 25 at national level.
All of these non-profits that pay salaries are paying payroll taxes on their employees, so it isn't like these organizations are living tax free.
As for the homeless, I know in many cases the homeless person, no matter what you do for them, they have decided to live on the streets. Most of them are suffering some sort of mental illness and you cannot convince them to live in a home.
Non-profits are NOT keeping Americans Homeless! If anything, there would be more homelessness were it not for the non-profits.

Are we to assume that so-called Christian churches that nurture homosexuals, cover up sexual predators in the pulpit, which has been happening, that these entities are preaching the Kingdom is here? That Christ died for us?Or is it that men are men and women are women?? Or that illegal aliens are illegal??
Each is chosing their own philosophy, not preaching the Word.
