On February 22, 2023, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay delivers a Paris summit on digital platform governance. UNESCO leads internet safety and digital platform regulatory consultations.
UNESCO, which names the world's most important cultural monuments, asked for "global norms for the administration of social media" to prevent "disinformation" in a summit on Wednesday.
UNESCO's "Internet for Trust Conference" called for global regulation of "hate speech, misogyny, restriction of free expression, doxxing and conspiracy theories." It opposed sovereign governments regulating online speech.
Any country working alone will fail these regulatory attempts. "At least 55 states are engaged on" internet speech limitation, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said Wednesday.
UNESCO dubbed online trolls "insects living in the dark"
Azoulay warned Thursday truth is unpopular, hence online regulation is needed.
“The blurring of real and untrue, the highly-organized denial of scientific facts, the amplification of disinformation and conspiracies – these did not begin on social networks,” the UNESCO head said. They do better there than without regulation.

On Thursday, UNESCO was told the internet has endangered democracy. Civility-threatening. Dangerous.”
“Disinformation during the [Chinese coronavirus] pandemic killed hundreds. Hate speech victimizes daily. Our weakest sectors suffer the most.

Filipino journalist Ressa agreed with Azoulay lies are more popular than truths and condemned "more speech" to confront internet hatred.
"Facts are boring," Ressa said. “Lies—especially combined with fear, fury, hate, tribalism—us against them. Spread. throwing lit matches into kindling.”
Duterte began Ressa's UNESCO "fake news" campaign. The previous president advocated a 2020 "false news" law, particularly during the Chinese coronavirus outbreak.
“President Rodrigo Duterte's unprecedented powers to stem the spread of coronavirus include a last-minute penalties language on illegal activity like spreading ‘false' or alarming information – which may just be the most hazardous component of the law,” Ressa's Rappler warned.
In conclusion: The U.N. doesn’t like anything it cannot control, especially U.S. freedom and is at war with open comment and narratives they think is false or misleading. Therefore, they demand to be the ultimate judge deciding what is appropriate, truthful and honest.
We know how this will work out when the UN is put in charge of free internet speech, don’t we! Putting this in a nutshell it boils down to this famous quote:

Ressa is quite the expert on throwing out half-truths and misleading information... propaganda is the construct of GOVERNMENTS, not individuals. Personal opinion and outrageous exaggerations of scientific facts are not the sole purviews of the public... Governments have a rather long and well-documented history of using false narratives and labeling dissident speech lies and sedition. The public has a way of weeding out the more insane conspiracy theories ... without being insulted and labeled malefactors by their governments.
The UNESCO complaint is nothing more than the disgruntled complaint of LEFTIST OFFICIALS (PROPAGANDA and LIES) being exposed These corrupt officials want to define truth and the world's narrative on all issues that impact their power... this is about controlling the narrative and their power base. Knowledge is power and those who know better will not put up with government-censored speech.
Since Russia is an enemy of the US then what a better way for the Soviets to have Congress dump a strong man (Trump) who could deal with them in a powerful way. Simple tell America 'Trump is one of ours! The result is 'Anybody But Trump" so now Biden is the pawn Russia can push around.
The UN came from the League of Nations which was just a club so the UN was created with far more power, but it was hijacked by Arab nations in their effort to destroy Israel and to control the worlds oil. Then the cold war turned into a power grab to see if the UN could control the nations coming out from under the iron curtain. Today the UN is powerful, has it's own army and is paid for by the US. If the US gets out the remaining nations will join China, Russia and form a new style of UN excluding Israel and the US.
Its a type of black mail. "pay-up' or we will remove you and form a new nation group which will be stronger than US.
IMHO.
The US needs to stop funding any uN program that violates our laws or civil rights... The US has veto power over any attempts to hijack our soverignty. Any perceived or actual harm done by the UN has been done with the consent of Congress, the sitting Administration, and our politician's agenda to create a new world order.
We can at any time withdraw from the UN ... and throw them out of the USA. The President and our Ambassador to the UN can tell the UN to shove it where the sun doesn't shine ANYTIME THEY choose.
However, it is evident that certain parties in the US are pro-GLOBALISM... These seditionist need to be identified and removed from our government. They are working to expand the UN's authority and to subordinate our soverignty to the UN. I believe it is better for us to remain a party to the UN and to use our veto and influence to stop the UN's more radical attempts at world government.
We should use the UN as a platform to employ our vision for a world at peace... avoiding the socialist and Marxist influences... by refusing to fund them... by vetoing as many of their programs as possible.
I really dont understand why the U.S. remains in the U.N. It has been a useless organization for years and has been propped up by the American taxpayers for years because other nations around the world would not pay their fair share that is until President TRUMP required them to pay up, No other president before him even dare mention that the rest of the world pay up, Like President TRUMP or hate him he at least had a backbone, Our nation was much better off with him than the total train wreck we have now.
The U.N. has to go - the USA should have NO MORE to do with them and they should be kicked out of the country. Also the organization or its members should be labeled as such on any social media site. They are acting more and more like a terrorist organization!
